Positives: responsive rental agent; nice neighborhood; walk to the beach; dog friendly home with fenced yard Cons: we had to clean the hot tub and it’s filter so we could use it during our stay; had to wrestle the blinds to close them in every room; master shower door frame came loose from the wall and my husband fixed it; fire pit had to be cleaned of trash also Overall it would be 5/5 stars with some maintenance and thorough cleaning

Buyer beware. The photo that accompanies this property (and the reason I booked it) is not of the property. I thought it was a photo of the backyard with a nice view of Lake Michigan. The photo is actually at least a good mile away at one of the access points to Lake Michigan. The property is landlocked and not within walking distance. A golf cart would have been nice. Overall, the house is nice, but it needs some tlc. Most of the window blinds were broken and there were a number of lights that did not work. The hot tub was a real plus, though. A very nice deck with seating surrounds it. The ceiling fans in the bedrooms are noisy and need to be replaced....it was uncomfortably hot without them on, but impossible to sleep with them on! Overall, I wish it had been more clear that this property was not anywhere near the listing photo. Considering what we paid per night, I feel very disappointed.

We really enjoyed the house. Beds and.couches were comfortable. Inside of home was nice and clean. We enjoyed the hot tub out on the deck several.nights. We were a bit further from.beach access than was implied in the listing however we didnt have bery good weather so it wasnt a big deal. I would strongly suggest however that some attention gets paid to the maintenace of the backyard. The weeds are huge and overgrown, just made it look messy. The seating around the firepit was a mess. The 2 seater appeared broke or something. It was very slanted and cushions didnt look good. It just wasnt an inviting area which is a shame because its such a nice big yard. Other than maybe getting one more tv into one of the 2 befrooms that dont have one would be nice. Only the master had a tv. But overall it was very nice. We took the South Shore train into town, and telied on Lyft to get around when needed. We were able to get rides without any issue and short wait times so that was good. If you dont mind driving a bit to get to a beach its a great house.

The house was nicely situated for activities either east (New Buffalo) or west (Indiana Dunes/Mich City). This was definitely NOT for a family that wants to walk to the beach, but if you are willing to pack up the van/SUV for a lengthy beach session, this house works nicely. Lots of good restaurants/shopping within 10-20 minutes. As mentioned in the title, the house had good-sized rooms, lots of space to relax, and very helpful communication with the manager. Fenced in backyard made a nice stay for our dog too!
