We had a great time at this rental. It has a fully stocked kitchen too make meals, there is a great game room in the garage for kids (and adults too), and the fire pit is a great hang out spot in the evening. The beach is a close walk and there are some coffee shops and restaurants nearby. I would definitely recommend this place if you are staying in the area.

We stayed at this home for a family vacation. It was fun to be able to walk across the street and see the monarch butterflies. The home was very clean and the description was accurate. It is bright and airy. The owners were very responsive. It is close to the outlets and lots of places to eat.

We had a wonderful weekend at this beautiful lakefront home in Grover Beach. It was the perfect location for our family including our 3 year old grandaughter. We were able to visit my brother in Arroyo Grande, go to the beach and the Avila Family Farm where we took a hayride, fed the animals and bought pumpkins! The house was lovely with a beautifully landscaped backyard with views of the waterfowl on the lake and Monarch Butterflies flitting about. We would love to stay there again!

Stayed with some good friends and thus was the perfect place. Enjoyed the fire pit by the lake and played ping pong in the garage. Had everything we needed.

Great location, just a short drive from Pismo, Avilla, and SLO. House was clean, well maintained, with a beautiful backyard overlooking the marsh. Great stay!

Quiet lakeside retreat on Pismo Lake with abundant waterfowl and birds for natural entertainment. Yard is wonderful with a BBQ and firepit with comfortable group seating. 3 bedroom/2 bath home had comfortable beds, warm linens, and ample towels for kitchen and bath. Kitchen is well-appointed and easy to use. Hosts were considerate in their communication and directions. They are also thoughtful in the entertainment in the home from tvs and streaming access, to wifi, to games either tabletop or in the garage. While there were just two of us plus our dog, a larger family or group of friends could enjoy a stay. We look forward to returning!

We stayed there for 2 nights. I wish we had time to stay longer. House is located five minutes walking distance to the beach and located in a nice housing area. Home is clean and comfortable. The home has everything needed for a terrific stay. Checkin and out was easy. The hosts even let us checking 1/2 hour earlier. They were very responsive and helpful. Definitely five stars. Would recommend the property to anyone visiting the area.

Loved every thing about this property. The backyard is simply something- vibrant and colorful, serene and calming. We stayed for 2 nights and wish we could have stayed for more. Was perfect for kids (thanks for all those family favorite board games). The house was neat and clean and tastefully decorated. Instructions were clear and minimal.

The house has everything you'll need and more. Our favorite place was the backyard with the chairs and gas fire pit by the water. Everything was blooming - a very peaceful setting. We also enjoyed the pingpong table and challenge matches. We all remarked on the comfort of the pillows and bedding.
Easy walking to the Monarch Butterfly Grove, Ocean Dunes and Pismo Beach. We drove to the Bob Jones Trail and walked to Avila Beach.
We hope to go again in the future.

This was our best experience yet with VRBO. We always take our own sheets, pillows, extra towels and a few kitchen items. We left them in the car. This place was great and even better than the pictures. The host answered my questions quickly and completely. Clean and comfortable house and the back yard was great for our dog.

Our group, eight of us, spent a couple nights to celebrate our boss's retirement. Golf during the day, BBQ, firepit, and drinks in the evenings. The property was perfect, had all the essentials. Extra amenities really pushed this property over the top. The backyard set up is amazing, completely relaxing and a great view to wrap up the day's events. The ping pong, arcade game, and darts in the garage sealed the deal. Great fun and good times for a bunch of work buddies. I would fully recommend this property.

This house was awesome! The pictures don't do it justice. The back yard is like an oasis in the desert, it's cozy and quiet! Great location too! It's close to the beach, restaurants and the hwy. I highly recommend the red bee coffee house just minutes away!

Home was amazing and exceeded all expectations. The photos are nice but I feel still don’t do it justice. Amazing location, close to outlet for shopping, as well as grocery stores conveniently close. Backyard was relaxing and all outdoor appliances were available. The communication with owner was amazing and accommodating. Check-in and check-out was a breeze. Can’t wait to stay here again, highly recommend.

We really enjoyed our stay! The house had everything we needed and more. The backyard was amazing with the gas fire pit and chairs overlooking the water. Landscaping was colorful with an abundance of flowers in bloom. We also had fun with pingpong matches in the garage.
The house is located in easy walking distance to the beach where you can head toward Oceano or Pismo. The Bob Jones Trail is nearby and recommended for a walk to Avila Beach.
Hope we can stay there again soon.

We love this property. I spent many hours outside watching the birds on and around the lake. The house was very comfortable and welcoming. A few minor issues: The outside patio furniture had spider webs on it that needed to be swept off. The door sealer at the bottom on the bathroom door makes a horrible noise on the tile floor when opening and closing. The shower head in the master bath needs to be cleaned. It was not operating at full capacity. There was no guest directory, so I had to call the office several times. The wifi data on the router was not correct. It needs to be updated. On a more postive note: we love being close to Pismo Beach State Park and the Monarch Butterfly Grove. We had a wonderful time here and hope to return someday. Gail Nieto

We all had a wonderful experience at this property! We made use of the fire pit on the first night, and the place had everything we needed for a weekend (tv, wine glasses, board games). We needed a place to stay for a friend’s wedding and this place was spacious and close to the venue.
Communication with the host (beach bum vacation rentals) was amazing! They called during our stay to check in and see how things were going. Everything went smoothly with booking, check-in, and check-out.
A couple of issues ~
We had some issues with the coffee maker on the second morning, but it worked well the first night.
Upon arrival, one couple noticed an item of clothing in their bedroom on the floor. It didn’t belong to anyone in the house so we just left it where they found it.
Other than those two minor details, everything was awesome! Thanks so much for your hospitality. Would absolutely recommend to a group of friends or family looking for a cozy place to stay in the area!

Our rental was in a clean, safe neighborhood with a nice lake behind it and beach short distance away. It was a good experience!

This location is a short walk to the butterfly grove and the beach! The six of us got to walk and explore the area. We also spent our time in the spacious backyard where the fire pit was. The view of the lake was nice, and there are lots of fruit trees in the yard. We cooked a lot during our time there - we just had to bring our own spices and oils. The house is also less than 10 minutes away from the pier. Overall, the experience was really nice. I will look more into Beach Bum Rentals in the future if I have to stay near Pismo/Grover Beach again.

Picking up and dropping off of keys at an office seems very cumbersome. The house had plenty of space and was clean but was dated. I own VRBOs and for the price I think coffee and a couple amenities could have been a nice add.

We had two families of three (teenage daughter in each family) at the house for a long weekend. Everything was great. A pretty close walk to the beach and quick bike ride into town. The house is very clean, well-equipped, and the public areas are roomy and comfortable. The back yard is really special. There are two separate table/seating areas, one in the sun and one in the shade, with a table big enough for dinner on the patio, and there is the propane fire pit, which is surrounded by comfy chairs and perfect for nighttime chats. In all, a great place!

Great house with lovely backyard and grill. Had everything we needed in the house to cook our meals. Clean. Mature fruit trees everywhere. Plenty of space for two families. Best of all a quick walk through the Monarch Reserve and you’re by a beautiful beach. There is nothing else to do within walking distance. Neighbors are not friendly to short term renters. During the day, management company was very responsive. After hours, it went to an answering service and we had called for a non-emergency but the answering service said they never got a call back from manager company. For the location, price was fair. We would definitely stay again.
