I love the house

This place is so nice, it was perfect for a great weekend… all clean… we loved it

This was the most disappointing home rental stay I have ever had! My family and I decided to make a weekend getaway out of a personal business trip. Upon arrival the home looked fairly true to the listing and clean. We changed quickly and left to enjoy an evening out, returning around 10:30pm. I walked in kitchen and noticed there were a number of cockroaches on the kitchen counter. I have NEVER rented a vacation home with a cockroach infestation! There were several baby cockroaches and a number of larger roaches all around the main living space: counters, kitchen sink, cabinets, in the drawers (including utensil drawer), floors in the kitchen, dining room, and living room areas. I contacted Anne and was told they could come out the next day to fumigate and that this was Florida. However, I live in Florida and have stayed in homes in this area in the past with NO roaches. I did not want to deal with roaches dead or alive. I told her I preferred to leave, due to killing roaches and looking for roaches instead of enjoying time with my family. I was given a credit for the second evening, but not compensated for dealing with an evening and morning killing roaches, or making costly, unexpected last-minute reservations elsewhere for the evening. The VRBO rep was of no help, advising me that I had to see what the owner would do first. This home was not ready to be listed. The response I received from both parties was not up to par either.
