Nice location but not when it's snowed heavily, beds were made up and comfy

Where do I start!! Never got text or call with keycode number I had to ring host looked scruffy wasn't clean shower was like it had some sort of film on it plus hairs in it water pressure poor, a plug socket hanging off the wall no ironing board just an iron house was freezing, kitchen cupboards didnt close properly didnt see any wifi not enough cleanliness put in to make guests welcome, We was there for a 40th anniversary it snowed heavily yet when we got back there host had failed to mention that you need to keep door on the latch we had to smash the front door pane window he's now saying we didn't follow the policies set and wants 350 of us to repair the window and that he gave us keys to get in luckily we took a video that shows we cudnt get in yes he provided keys but the keys didn't fit the front door only the porch and back door there was a high gate if he expected us to climb over in thick snow we could have injured ourselves when booking.com and ourselves tried to ring them it just rang out then he switched the phone off and it went to voicemail it took 9 hrs before they text to asked if we was OK it was -5 and we could have got hyperthermia by then we had left to go home my advice do not rent this home there are better hosts in Stoke, the property needs a complete overhall I've stayed in many hosts homes in different areas and never encountered any problems and have rated them highly unfortunately this host is providing a poor service and I feel he just in it for the money its not worth the money he charges to stay in this property

Privacy and nice quite location. Also polite staff, who came to clean the driveway when we had reported plenty of broken glass on the driveway.

Quite dirty house especially bathroom where we could clearly see a filth in the shower, human hair on the floor and downstairs toilet was also quite unclean. Also there was no curtain or a blind on one bedroom window, which made it uncomfortable to sleep in the morning when the sun was up.

It was absolutely filthy & I have photos to prove it. No blind/curtain in spare bedroom. Cigarette ash I. Window sill, cigarette on duvet, shower had grime and hair in, half toilet roll left for 4 people to stay, whole house stank of smoke, cigarette butts in bin, kitchen bins were dirty & smelly, cup next to kitchen sink had water with cigarette butt in, downstairs toilet had cobwebs in & incontinence pad in window sill, no Light on upstairs landing, smeared glass to diving doors to lounge, filthy dirty marks around walls and main back door, garden a total mess with old couch in, coins shrewd about bedroom floor, exfoliating gloves in corner shelf of bath with black grime & used soap in, tissues left in bathroom bin, stale milk stains in fridge door. Was an unpleasant stay having to use own sleeping bags and had to buy marigolds & scoured to clean shower before using. Had to go out for evening meal and breakfast as too filthy to make food at property. I have more photos but can only load 4. Please do not advertise for future guests as would not want anyone else to experience what we have. Would be grateful if you would consider a refund. We slept in our sleeping bags as after a long day at Alton Towers & 2 tired teenagers we had no alternative but to stay
