We had a very nice stay. The staff were friendly and helpful, the room was clean, beds comfy, and breakfast was nicely cooked. We enjoyed the pool table and darts in the bar area.

3 rooms booked for myself, sons and partners - in annexe ok for price. Small but ok. No 557 radiator won’t turn down so window had to be open & cistern loud for too long after flush HOWEVER ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTED AT YOUR STAFF FOR I FEEL TRYING TO SCAM US INTO PAYING FOR BREAKFAST WHEN ALREADY PAID FOR via Hotels.com. I woke 0830, checked all room info ie what time breakfast etc Nothing looked at website- no info - then spotted FB advertising breakfast 8-12. At 1020 we all went into main building when this person wearing black hoody asked if he could help. I said in for breakfast and he said oh we have a policy - residents have to eat before 10am otherwise they have to pay. I pointed out no where does it advise us of that in the room, nobody said at check in and he said I know I’ve fed this back etc. I said we’d paid for breakfast so going to have it. Breakfast room empty. went in and a very nice gentleman who def looked like he worked there came and took room numbers took our keys and order. The other person came in only once our food being set on table to say can we come to some agreement.. I couldn’t believe his attitude. When I said unacceptable he said ‘only compromise you’ll do - is not pay ‘ we already had - also asked if we’d been in b4 10am was it the same breakfast- yes . The way he spoke to us was disgusting and he ended up walking out shouting ‘ this is a joke man’and he was staff ! I’m disgusted and will make complaint

Extremely friendly and helpful staff. Older hotel but comfy and welcoming.

Everything was fine, except the cleaner unlocked our door half an hour before checkout and told us to hurry because the new guests had arrived, when obviously he just wanted to finish up early or something.Massive breach of privacy imo.
Breakfast was nice, some fruit available would be good though.

As my wife and l reported to your manager there were one or two items needed to be rectified, But on the whole a very pleasant stay.

Nice room, very spacious. Had to get clean towels, and the shower water pressure left a lot to be desired but i expected that being up on the top floor. The hotel is well placed if you want to grab a bite to eat, go for a drink or a wee wander. Left a jacket in the room and struggled to get through to reception on the phone the next day but got there in the end! The staff were all really friendly and the barman had excellent chat! Overall a great stay!

Stayed one night for a work's do, just the ticket. Could do with a bit of refurbishment, but the staff were great and the breakfast was wonderful. Would stay again.

Towels were dirty / stained.
Shower was awful, weak and cold.
Bed was short.

Looks like it is being done up at present. Rooms not well sound proofed. Lounge would benefit from some cushions and table lamps to make it cosier.

The room was filthy, and i couldn't stay in it

The room itself was dated and old. The condition wasn’t great and it needs a massive update. Looked like something out of the 80’s. Shower was cold. We were put in an outside room when arrived early as our room wasn’t ready which was our choice but the rooms were really not great. I can’t compare to the main hotel but I was told this was old staff quarters which they are now renting out and it shows. The condition really was bad. Needs a whole new interior.

Our booking was a prepaid booking unfortunately my husband recently took a stroke and the manager refused any refund. We would have given our booking to a family member however after our dealings with the hotel and very recent reviews given by others we would not like anyone to stay at the hotel. Dunkeld is such a beautiful place and deserves better run establishments than this hotel

Cleanliness was fine, reception & bar staff were so friendly. Bedrooms were comfortable. However, breakfast time was chaos both mornings. Staff getting orders wrong, running out of various food items. Some staff coped better than others but definitely did not expect to be shouted at by the manager for asking for the breakfast I had ordered that they were unable to fulfil

Room was ok , shower is tiny and overall everywhere could do with a good clean and carpets replaced. Breakfast was ok but food in the restaurant was expensive for what it was.

4 rooms booked for a family weeding and large family roomed booked for early entry so we could get changed beforehand. Arrived later than anticipated and no information noted on early access, had not been passe on. Room availability was restricted as rooms not ready due to loss of housekeeping. Managed to access a small room but this was not big enough for the familiy to get changed in so really frustrating making everyone stressed. Parking also tight, full spaces so had to park on street with all wedding outfits. Arrived back to htel before1am and other guests sitting as no rooms were available despite being booked and paid for, they had to sleep ion couches in the communal sitting room. This also included guests from the wedding who had a young babyand no room to access. Cooked breakfast was good but breakfast area had un out of fresh juices, tea and coffee machine overflowing, cups etc, I never received my breakfast within the group table and had to remind the waiter who had to re-order. Felt terrible for the waiter who informed us they had had enough and this was their last shift, leaving today. Staff had not turned up, the two people around were running around like headless chicken so there was duity tables, stacked dirty alcohol glasses from the previous night still to be washed, it was just chaotic.
What seriously worried us was there was no-one staffing or in attendance when we returned, what if there was an emergency or FIRE!!, £160, not worth it, no help offered.

Hotel was awful very run down in general. Could not sleep first night due to Abba Tribute band on and room next to main road and old window which would shut and curtains too small for windows. No shower gel and toilet holder fell off wall. Carpet didnt look like it had been hoovered. Spare pillows didn't have covers on them and badly stained, one with blood. Water in shower cold. Breakfast was nice but very disorganised no cups available and the second morning said they had no bread to make toast. Bins lying on side out back with litter everywhere and blocked drains at side of hotel which looked like toilet paper.

The staircase up to our room was shabby and dirty ..had not been vacuumed. Our room had a faulty table lamp, biscuit crumbs in one of the bedside drawers and loose screws rattling around in the other cabinet. The wardrobe had dirty bed linen rolled up in the base. We were given another room but faults were evident in that a ceiling light wasn't working and during heavy rain the water dripped in onto the window sill.
One of the sash windows in the 1st floor residents lounge had rotten timber in that it had fallen away from the glass pain letting cold air and rain into the sill area.
That said, the bedding was clean, the bed comfortable and the shower cubicle DIDN'T have the ubiquitous black mold spots in it.
I think that this hotel needs a shed load of cash injected into the upper floors to bring it up to even a reasonable standard.
Staff were pretty good though !

Overall acceptable knew we were staying in annex accommodation as hotel full. Problem with car park as someone damaged one of our cars and unfortunately the cctv over looking the area was not functioning properly. Although property we understand under new management only days before our visit so understandably not everything
working to usual standards. Staff were very friendly and accommodating

Uncomfortable with frontline staff remaining unmasked when customers were asked to comply with this Covid mitigation.

We enjoyed our stay in the Royal Dunkeld. A lovely part of Scotland.
Good food and comfy clean beds and excellent service. On site parking could be a problem at peak times.
Would definitely go back.

Dunkeld is a lovely, picturesque village, with great places to eat and drink and some fabulous walking. The hotel is very good. We ate breakfast every morning and at night once - the food was really tasty and good value. There is a small car park at the rear, for maybe 6 or 7 cars. The room was small as was the bed, but it was well appointed and very clean. There is a very good beer garden too. Also, I must commend the staff … friendly, helpful, polite and always available.

Room was a little dated, but otherwise a good stay.

Traditional Scottish hotel ,warm ,friendly and clean.

Upon arrival, no room in car park, several cars parked so badly that it stopped further guests parking.
Reception staff helpful at check in but crowded in small reception as several guest checking in so not able to keep to distancing and no members of staff where directing new guests to wait somewhere else’s or ask them to wait outside.
Rooms very small and old very tired. Cupboard door did not open to put suitcase in as the bed was in the way.
Did not feel very clean as there was several cobwebs hanging from the ceiling.
Restaurant for evening meals. Staff helpful and attentive but issues with face masks not been worn correctly. Tables too close together. Condiments in bottles passed round tables.
At breakfast tea coffee served on the table with waiting staff picking up your cup and handing it back to you. Really better to leave a pot on table so guests can serve themselves.
Food and breakfast very good.
Nice to be able to sit in garden to have a drink pre or after dinner.

Stayed for one night, room and bed were a bit on the small side but cosy and comfy and perfectly fine for one night. Breakfast was good and although we didn’t have dinner the meals served to others looked plentiful. The staff are lovely and the hotel is in a perfect location for exploring further afield

Great location.Great staff. Building needs extensive work done. Fire regulations have not been complied with. Don't get a room on the 3rd floor it is unbarebly hot. Windows have been painted shut in the corridor. Food not great better food elsewhere in Dunkeld. I will not be returning.
