More than I expected! Very much like home. Plan on booking again!

Neat, clean, nicely appointed & furnished. This is our second rental of this property; we've been so impressed that we've come back & we haven't been disappointed. And, the owners are really wonderful folks, & very accommodating. What a terrific place!

Nice, clean pet friendly house with all needed amenities. We stayed in this house with our 3 children ages 14,12,and 8 and our 2 dogs. Loved the house! Comfortable couches, beds, great kitchen, nice grilling space outside with plenty of room to play cornhole under the house. I would hesitate with booking it again due to location. It's located on a street with what seemed like primarily locals and the street ends at Food Lion. This may sound convenient, but the traffic getting in/out is terrible. Also, we have a dog who is 13 and the stairs were a challenge for him multiple times per day. It was nice having the fenced-in back yard.

Nice quiet residential neighborhood, a reasonably priced alternative to oceanfront. Very clean and tidy interior. Was easy to come home to from the beach and leave all the sand outside at ground level. Would definitely return. A great 3 weeks in a real beach community neighborhood. Thank you to the very accomodating owners!

Our family of 4 + 2 guests + one fur baby very much enjoyed our stay - house is great! Looking forward to returning!

Our family of three adults and two kids stayed here for a week. The house itself was very clean. Inside and outside had been recently painted, and furniture and dishes were in newer, good condition. The house is sparsely decorated, which is great for kids, and there were lots of games and books. A beach cart, chairs, and toys were available to use. Outside shower was clean and large, with hot and cold water. Great central location near Food Lion and some restaurants. Too far to walk to the beach with little kids, but we knew that when we booked it. We planned on driving to several beaches to stay away from crowds anyway. Great place to stay!

Our second week back in the house didn’t disappoint. We spent hours in the front porch and we love the solitude of the location. Very sad to leave after the week! Will be back soon.

Thank you for allowing us to stay in your beautiful home! My family and friends and our dogs had a blast being able to spend Memorial Day together at the beach! The place was clean and well taken care of, super convenient to the beach and grocery, and the back yard was perfect for our dogs to hang out in! The entire experience was great and we’d definitely like to stay there again sometime. Thanks!

The house is absolutely beautiful as was the entire island! Oak Island is the ONLY beach vacation I will ever take from now on. We had everything we needed for a great vacation!

The house was well appointed and clean. Excellent a/c and the beds were new and clean. Roomy under house parking. Quiet neighborhood and a very convenient location. The front porch is huge with lots of nice furniture. Would not hesitate to recommend this to anyone.

We enjoyed our stay. Will probably come back when we come to Oak Island again. The home isn't brand new but very clean and open. We appreciated the laundry room and ability to bring our dog. The porch swing was wonderful in the mornings with coffee and a book.

We had a great time and the area was great. The property met all of our needs. It was a little dirty and we had to get some lightbulbs because some were out. Other than that it was great.

We had a great time at Oak Island. This is our second year staying at Tranquil Harbor. We have a large family with 5 adult kids and some spouses, and the accommodations were perfect. We take our bikes so we love the location with so many things close by. It is also nice to have use of the beach gear.

We had a great time during our stay here. Property was very clean and had all amenities needed. We loved the screened in porch and the doggie fence out back. We brought our golf cart for the short drive to the beach. There were lots of food places in walking distance. Great location!

We had a lovely vacation! The house is very nice and just a short drive to the beach. We loved the Flying Pig Coffee Shop at the end of the street! Even in the middle of summer, the beaches were not overly crowded and the water was fabulous! The family (and dog) had a terrific time!

We loved the home! Very neat with everything you need and a great back yard for the dogs! Just a tough walk/drive/haul to the beach.

We really enjoyed our stay. The owners' were very pleasant to deal with and very helpful in answering all my inquires. The house is clean and comfortable and lovely with fresh beach inspired paint colors and decor, the overall feeling is calm and relaxing. The screened-in porch and porch swing were a favorite gathering spot in the mornings and evenings. We would be happy to stay there again on our next trip to Oak Island.

We rented this beach house for our first friends and family gathering post COVID, and we were thrilled with our stay. The house was beautiful, well stocked, with a fully fenced backyard for our hound, who was welcomed without much hassle at all (pet fee was it!). The parking availability is even better than we expected (could easily park 6 or even more cars!!), and the walk to the beach from the house was very doable. The only downside is the the amount of heavy traffic on the road across the street from Food Lion (but having a grocery store that close was SO handy!!) made crossing a bit of a bear, as there’s no crosswalk, even if you walked down to the light. But that’s not anything the house could control! Loved the outdoor shower, and plentiful dishes/Tupperware provided in the kitchen! I spent each morning enjoying my coffee in the bright, cheery screened in porch one of the yellow Adirondack chairs, with my pup at my feet happily observing the neighborhood from a second story (he now wants us to put in a balcony at home 😂), and we loved every minute of it. Our hosts were very kind, responsive, informative, and upfront about any questions or concerns we had both before and during our stay. Couldn’t have asked for a better experience, and we’d happily stay here again!

Your cottage was perfect for my family (including our dog)! Exceptionally clean! Kitchen and living area very spacious. We spent hours upon hours sitting on the screen porch. Enjoyed fishing at the inlet, walking to the coffee shop at the end of the street in the mornings, eating out at the multitude of restaurants the island offers, shopping in Southport(short drive) and of course relaxing and reading at the beach. The only negative was the distance to the beach (too long of a commute with all our beach gear), however the multiple public parking spots directly on the beach solved this dilemma. Difficult to get out onto the main drag, but this was easily solved by going to the stoplight 2 blocks down. I would definitely consider staying here again - particularly because it is pet friendly.

Loved the house as it was very spacious & had a great beach feel. The owners were great to communicate with & always got back to me in a very timely manner.

My family of five stayed here, and we immediately felt like we were home away from home! So cozy! Easy drive to everything, short walks to restaurants, and the beach. We enjoyed the island vibe all around! We loved the layout of the house, so easy and full of happy energy! Definitely will be back!

Nice house. Love the outdoor shower…everyone did. Thankful for extra chairs and the beach caddy. Some constructive criticism: 1) Get a Keurig. The rest of the world has. 2) Invest in practical, stylish handles for ALL of your cabinets. They are quite affordable on Amazon. Additionally, in a world trying to rebound from Covid-19, none of us want or need to be rubbing all over the cabinets trying to desperately obtain a fork. Also, your cabinet paint job is taking a serious beating due to the constant grabbing to get the damn drawers open 3) Unify the tv’s and add one to the bunk room. 4) Refresh batteries in the remotes. Your guests shouldn’t have to deal with this inconvenience. 5) We had a very hard time with the remotes and the television system in general. Part of it was batteries. The other part not sure but your guests are there to relax not deal with the same day to day bs they have to deal with at home. 6) Install a garbage disposal. About $150ish at Lowe’s. Again, your guests want convenience and ease. We don’t want to scrape random Mac and cheese noodles and vegetable pieces parts out of the strainer. 7) It would be great to have a swing in the backyard and/or some chairs and a fire pit. The evenings are so lovely and the yard is nice. A backyard swing and some chairs would give guests an opportunity to really enjoy the home outdoors. Screen porch is great. And we loved it but would have loved more outdoor space. 8) The latch lock on the gate in the back is broken….:not acceptable for a pet friendly/safe property. 9) The man that lives down the street with the ‘for sale by owner’ sign in front of his house had a serious upset/anger issue our last night there. While we were walking our dogs, he jumped in his truck and drove recklessly through his backyard and onto Oak Island Dr. speeding, swerving and burning rubber. Only sharing so you are aware as this is clearly a dangerous person a few doors down from your place. Might be a situation to monitor.

Our stay was wonderful. The property was clean and had great amenities. I don't think the pictures do the home justice. It was very well taken care of and the furnishings were so nice. The kitchen was wonderful and had everything we needed while cooking. :)

The cleaning service didnt do a good job But all in all I hope we can go back .We cleaned it to our liking and enjoyed it all week Thank you Jim and Collene

The house was very clean and well maintained. The owner was great to work with us and our pets. It was wonderful to have our fur babies be able to join us so we didn’t worry about boarding them. Location was very central to everything on the island. The front porch swing was a favorite. Enjoyed our stay!

This property was actually better than described. It is spacious, very clean, and the kitchen is well-equipped. It's close enough to walk to the beach and restaurants, yet back off the main drag so it's quiet. We have a fabulous time with our two dogs - the fenced in backyard gave us such peace of mind! This place has the most "tupperware" for leftovers that I've ever seen in a rental place. The home was so comfortable, and the front porch was a paradise. (Also the WIFI was super fast!) Thank you!
