When driving in, I thought it was going to be a great place to stay. However, our room was way at the back of the property in a building behind the golf course. There was a broken down truck there and it looked like it was a place where they just put all of their junk. The parking lot was dirt and had limited parking. Very old. Seriously needs an update and customer service.

Totally over priced. It’s very run down and dirty looking.
I feel ripped off.
The
Y need to fix it up and at least put in new carpet. I will not go back

I expected a place which advertises as a resort to have everything conveniently available. In a location which was miles from any centre, there was no breakfast available. The dining such as it was was not particularly appealing. The hours were limited as were choices. The facilities were dated and the housekeeping was well below expectations based on the price charged.

So unfortunate!
This place was probably lovely once upon a time and they are renovating some of the rooms but man, right now it is like something out of a 90s horror movie!
Our room smelled like dead bodies and the carpet was, well, sticky. We asked to move and were told there weren't any rooms available. But, we only saw one other guest while we were there...
They obviously make money off their golf course and event space.
Our advice; Don't stay past sundown unless you know you're in a recently renovated room.
And, whatever you do, don't go down to the basement alone!

Staff was very friendly but the property is dated and investment is needed to update it.

Pinestone inn, more like schitts creek . Outdated, run down and dirty. Outdoor pool was broken, no one notified us on this. Indoor pool was freezing. Air condition barely worked. $310 for nothing. Rooms were dirty and places has looks like it has never had a dollar spent on it to be renovated. Not worth the money.

The room is disgusting the washroom is falling apart and there is no hot water!!!!

The only good thing about this property was friendly staff at front desk and restaurant. Restaurant food was good but not for the price or amount of food. Online menu prices are $3-$5 dollars cheaper than the menu at the restaurant they need to update it. The hotel pictures online are nothing like that. It is run down, ripped rugs, rugs are heaved up in some areas a real tripping hazard. Rugs are very stained. Very dusty especially the grand piano. Hotel washrooms were dirty, stinky and toilets not flushing. In our room there was mould in the shower, pillows extremely soft, beds were not comfortable, air conditioning didn’t get cool, more French channels than anything else. The pool outside isn’t up and going it’s filled with sluggish water which is just outside the restaurant windows. Outside our balcony that overlooked the so called water view is the green garbage bins and large propane tanks. When in the restaurant we had to change tables as there was a black hornet in the window at our table when I informed them I’m highly allergic and didn’t have an Epipen they didn’t do anything. The place is very run down truly didn’t enjoy my stay there, didn’t even wish me a happy birthday the reason for being there and I put that in my notes. Also, asked for a water view room only got it because our room wasn’t ready for us and it was after 4pm. Don’t waste your money here.

It was close to where l needed to be. Very expensive for what l got. We had to go to the office to get towels and toilet paper. One day they did not have bath towels. Main floor patio door did not lock, wasn't fixed until next day. No hot water one day.

The staff was pleasant, helpful, polite, respectful.
Need options for breakfast, fan in washroom, other activities and little updating on the decor.

The room was spacious, the bed comfortable, quiet and it had a frig.
However the outdoor pool is empty and dirty, the deck is overgrown with weeds. The indoor pool looks inviting but is cold as ice. The fitness room is closed. Ice machine on our floor doesn't work. The decor is out of date. And they still have analog TVs. The owners appear to be running this place to the ground. This is just a motel not a resort. Overpriced. Would not go again.

The stay was awesome and a good place to disconnect and relax

The hotel was clean, but could use some updating. The service in the restaurant might be the worst I have ever had.

The resort was unable to provide me with my invoice of my stay. I need one for business expense. Can I obtain through Expedia? Also no breakfast was available on site.

I stayed there one night don’t feel that the facilities merit the cost very dated hotel. The room was subpar to most hotels very noisy poor sound proofing.

The area in which the property is located is nice. The room is very spacious, and the staff in general are courteous. However, other than the golf course which seems to be well kept (and we do not golf), the owner of the property has left this property slide into a state of disrepair. It is really a shame as one can imagine, if kept well, this would have been a nice resort. We were so disappointed that we checked out after staying for one night only. To the credit of the staff, they only charged us for one night and forgo the charge for the second night.

Not worth the money. We were put in a back detached building that was old, smelled and dirty. Pool was very cold. Sauna didn’t work. Very disappointing

We booked two nights to help my son with moving into his new home. I was a bit disappointed as the hotel was quite dated. Clean enough but nothing g special especially for the $$. No ice machine that worked. Lost money at the vending machine that didn’t work.

The property was, at best, described as "very tired". Repairs it seems are rarely made. Very poor maintenance.
No breakfast available. The heated indoor pool would be hard to describe as heated. The sauna was turned off.

1st, there was NO chair to relax in. 2 the TV was very blury, and the aspect ratio was off to the point I could not see the sides of the weather channel. There was no mini fridge, or microwave. And last but not least there are no safety handles in the bath tub. I would not recommend this for any extended stay.

Pool was so cold that the kids didn't want to get in. Pool area and hallways have not been vacuum cleaned for a long time. AC was unacceptable noisy.

Pub stopped service after 2nd period of hockey play off game and wanted to close down. Restaurant not open for breakfast and no coffee station. Gym is closed as is pretty much the entire resort. Basically you pay a resort level room rate of $240 and you don’t get anything but a stuffy room. Better off staying at motel 6 for 80 bucks. Will not return….ever!

I've stayed at the Pinestone resort a few times in the past. I also worked there in my youth. There have been zero efforts made to update the rooms, they still look exactly the same as they did in the early 2000's. While I understand the pandemic has been hard on the hospitality industry, there is zero excuse in my eyes for dirty rooms. There was mould, dirt smears on the walls and peeling wall paper throughout. It was disappointing to say the least.

The staff were nice and the room and bathroom were very clean. However, the wide-angle lens shots on their website made the rooms seem about 50% nicer; the place is actually a little shabby in the average rooms, which are quite small. But my main beef is we were supposed to get queen beds and got doubles, which was not what we were sold in our reservation. There was also supposed to be a fridge in the room, according to the original reservation, but there was none. So if they'd work to make sure they're actually providing what they're selling to people on hotels.com, it would be a nice little Kawartha getaway spot.

The room was not at all as those in the photos. It was not in very good condition and looked more like an inexpensive motel than a resort room. Very, very disappointed.

I stayed on Monday, no food service. For a hotel that charges $169 a night if their reataurant is closed due to satffing issues and is difficult to get food delivery as the receptionist said...they should have a vending machine at least.

Previous stays had been pleasant. The property needs an update. Problems: unheated pool, leaky roof in hallway, no breakfast available, unruly children and parents partying in hallway. Children were running from one wing of the hotel, across the lobby and across the walkway continually, banging into doors and shrieking. Some were in bathing suits. The reception saw this and did nothing. This went on until after 10:00 PM and started again at 8:30 in the morning. My husband stepped on a piece of glass in the room, When he reported it to reception we never heard from them about it. We had stayed at Pinestone on different occasions several years ago and were looking forward to a pleasant stay. We left feeling extremely disapointed.

Room could use some renovations. For first time visit to the area was looking for some additional assistance at the front desk. All and all it served our purpose.

The front desk girl was nice. The hostess at the restaurant was very rude. Basically didn’t want us to order food. Said it would be long wait and rolled her eyes. Getting a password for the pool is a bit extreme ….. our room was so old and musty and had mould. The manager was nice and said he would refund. We are still waiting.
