Simple room, but had everything I needed

Some trouble getting in as needed to call a number and my phone wasn’t working. Luckily some other guests arrived and helped me out

Unfriendly staff, basic accommodation and noisy from road

clean rooms, good breakfast, nice location

other than during the breakfast service, there was no one around to talk to or ask questions. We came and went in the day and evening without seeing anyone

Wonderful smile and welcoming host.

1. I announced that I would arrive late. They put the key in the key box so I could enter the Hotel and my room. 2. The room was immaculate, cosy and comfortable.

1. My reservation was for a room with a terrace with a mountain view, But my room didn't have a terrace and a mountain view. 2. At 8 o'clock in the morning, someone inserted a key into the lock and tried to open the door, as I had locked the door from the inside and placed the key in the lock, that person couldn't open the door. 3. The restaurant had lots of tables but they had arranged 5 tables for the breakfast. A very simple breakfast included a bowl full of jams and Nutella and a plate with butter and cheese; one fruit yoghurt that you couldn't choose the taste; coffee; orange juice and bread. I was there for 2 nights. On the first day, the host (she) told me that I have to sit at a special table and chair, with a kitchen view. In addition to the above breakfast, she put a plate including 3 bacon and 3 sliced cheese on my table. I was in the middle of eating breakfast when another guest arrived. Suddenly, she came and picked up the plate with bacon and chees and bread basket and went to the kitchen and filled them for the new guest. She also offered other guests extra coffee but she didn't offer me. On the second day, there were no guests in the restaurant but she asked me again to sit in the previous place. There was no bacon and sliced cheese and no extra coffee.

The breakfast was standard European type - toast, grains and yoghurt. A bit unfulfilling, if it's not what you normally have on a cold morning. There was no offer of a more substantial, western style - cooked meal that included bacon, eggs and sausages and the like.

Host/manager spoke absolutely no English and made no attempt to communicate anything other than to speak real quickly and loudly in German. She was generally quite rude and abrupt. One time I was about to get into the elevator and she was already in it. As I got close, she shut the door before I could get in! We found other staff on duty did not speak any English either. The room had a weird up-and-down floor in it, which we kept tripping on or stubbing our toes into. (May have been retro-fitted floor heating or something.) It was the weirdest place we'd stayed at during our Europe trip. We called it the 'Fawlty Towers of Sargans'!

Owner and staff no one understands English.
