room was great, bathroom was great, staff at check in were great. female breakfast server on Wednesday and Thursday was lovely. breakfast Weds/Thurs I was the only one in the restaurant as it was early so no issues,

Breakfast on Friday 16th was vile, cold and greasy, ordered poached eggs got fried eggs. Didn't send back as it was so busy. Large group of students who had prebooked breakfast obviously not enough kitchen staff as they were waiting for over an hour and I left before all had received their breakfast. Male server was rude

Location was easy to find, view of the city was great, food was outstanding, staff were extremely helpful and welcoming.

The bottom of the shower didn’t look the cleanest. Bathroom smelled freshly cleaned however, I wear shower shoes anyway.

This hotel was lacking hospitality and cleanliness. Immediately after check-in my family and I got stuck in the hotels elevator. It completely lost power. We were unable to use the emergency phone inside the car as there was no electricity. We did have a charged cell phone and was able to call the front desk for assistance. Between the wait time to speak with someone at the front desk and the time for the hotels engineer to solve the issue was approximately 20 minutes. It was 105, midday in Baton Rouge. Needless to say we we’re very uncomfortable as there was no AC. I get unforeseen issues happens but it was the complete lack of care and concern that bothered me. There was no one waiting at the elevator to check with my family and I to ensure we were ok. No one called our room or even stopped by to ensure we were well. After finally getting into our room we found the bathroom in less than desirable condition. There was an unhealthy amount of dried urine on the toilet and toilet seat. Luckily I always travel with gloves and a few cleaning supplies so I was able to tidy up so that my family could relax after being on the road 8 hrs. Once settled I visited the front desk to discuss my concerns. The clerk was rude to say the least! She never followed through to ask if my family was ok after being stuck in the elevator or if we needed anything. She didn’t offer to send house keeping to our rooms to address the cleanliness nor were we offered to move to a different room after reviewing the photos of the condition . I am very disappointed with the Marriott. They’ve always been the preferred hotel for my family and I during travel because of their hospitality and cleanliness throughout the property. However this visit has totally tanked my loyalty to the Marriott and I will be staying elsewhere in the future.
