The Islander Inn

The location was excellent, just across the street from the lake, which made it very convenient for enjoying the area. Check in was also very easy. The door was open when we arrived, and our key was waiting for us on the counter, so there was no hassle or waiting around. The unit had a small fridge, a small microwave, a kitchen sink, and some basic dishes, which was convenient for simple meals. However, there was no stove or real cooking setup, so it wasn’t suitable for preparing full meals. Outside, there was an outdoor sauna that was a nice bonus and very enjoyable to use, as well as a couple of picnic tables that were great for sitting outside and relaxing.

We stayed in the Bali “bungalow,” and overall it was a nice place, but it is definitely starting to show its age. The floors appeared clean at first glance, although there was quite a bit of dust and dirt under the beds and couch. The blinds were also very dusty, and some of them did not work properly. The bathroom window did not have a screen, which would have been nice to have. The wall mounted AC worked well enough to keep the room comfortable, but it cycled on and off all night and was extremely loud when it kicked on. We also weren’t sure the buttons on the unit actually did anything, as it seemed to operate the same way regardless of what settings we tried. Parking also became problematic one of the nights we stayed. There simply were not enough spaces available for all of the guests. The TVs are set up for streaming over the property’s WiFi, but the WiFi seemed to be heavily overtaxed. Streaming quality was very poor, with buffering and low picture quality making the TVs difficult to enjoy. Overall, we enjoyed the stay, but a little more attention to cleaning, maintenance, parking, and the WiFi infrastructure would go a long way toward keeping the property looking and functioning its best.

The location was convenient for our through trip to Glacier.

The beach access to the lake they “sell” is the Bosch launch tied to the bar and restaurant. You have to walk through the bar to get to the beach area and there are no swimming signs posted. There are people sitting there from the bar/restaurant definitely not a place you’re going to swim or enjoy the lake unless your boat is docked there.
