Hot springs are amazing!!!

We were upgraded from a standard room to a suite with a balcony. That was unexpected and extremely nice of them! We even had two bathrooms! The view was great and we really enjoyed sitting on the balcony.
The location is great as everything you need can be reached on foot. Great dining in walking distance just across the bridge, as well as numerous bars.
Hot springs just across the street. Very convenient!
We decided not to eat at the hotel as everything was very pricy. Which was okay since there are quite a few restaurants nearby.
Not everyone might see this as a problem but whenever I took a shower, the water temperature got only up to lukewarm. Which made the shower not very enjoyable, I was very cold. I don’t know if that is a problem in every room. It could be due to the age of the hotel. That would be my only complaint about the room, but not a deal breaker.

The history of the property was fascinating. A walk around the hotel helped to tell that story. We were only there one day/night on our cross country Amtrak train trip and of all the places we visited as a family we all agreed this was the one place we’d like to return to. Besides the Hotel Colorado, there are many local attractions we’d like to experience.
The room we were in was pretty barebones. With the property’s glamorous history, I expected more.

Bathrooms were terrible- outdated and dingy. There was only one elevator working for entire hotel and had to wait 10 min- used stairs when able. No central air and even in March with window open it was very warm.

The renovations done were amazing and the bed and sheets were to die for! Can I get that bed at my house please and thank you!

Always love staying at the Hotel Colorado, there's so much history, character, and ambiance in this old building. King suite was spacious and comfortable. Short walk over the pedestrian bridge to get to the downtown restaurants.
Paid parking is a bummer.

I really loved the historic charm of the hotel. The elevator felt like it was from the 80s though, so it didn't really match the vibe of everything else. The room itself felt nice, though it took a little trial and error to get the radiator setting more to our liking (all rooms use steam radiators for heating FYI). They give you little leaflets informing you about that at check-in, along with how the hot water can take 7 minutes to reach your shower. The bed was probably one of the most comfortable I've ever slept in, so big points for that.
There was some renovation work going on at the time, so they had also informed us that they were going to shut off the water 30 minutes before check-out. Not a big deal at all, but would've been better if they could've waited till after check-out to do that.

loud and screaming kids after hours and around 5:30 am in the hallway.

Nice historic hotel with Christmas decorations and two beautiful fireplaces.
The heating system is antiquated and inexcusable. The first night was miserably HOT, and it takes too long to reach a comfortable temperature in the room. Also, men working to get the hotel ready. It wasn't.

Responsiveness or lack thereof - i emailed the hotel, called them directly, and contacted them through my booking service, all to no avail. They were utterly unavailable to help me in my efforts to negotiate a cancellation fee. They just put through the charge for the room and never acknowledged my communications.

Beautiful historic facility with much ambiance. Large halls. The maids were very kind
Water wasn't hot enough even after running water as directed. Lady ar front desk was rather curt and not helpful.
