Stunning location, right on the ocean!

Dated but well maintained and equipped. Small bathroom. The prize is the view and location right on the beach. If you have a beach-loving dog, it will be in heaven. Dogs are allowed from September 16 until June. Good restaurants nearby and a sub, pizza and great ice cream place within walking distance. No elevator so keep that in mind when reserving. Great, protected beach for swimming on one end, wave action on the other.
Breakfast was just beverages and pastries but they were high quality. I found the room temperature impossible to adjust except by opening the door to the balcony. No AC.

This motor inn is located right on the ocean. There is a deck that runs along the ocean side with stairs down to the beach, and the room had a sliding window wall. If the weather had been warmer, we could have walked on the beach. Beautiful views! This would probably be a great site for much warmer weather and people who love the beach!
This is an older facility. The room was large and the information about the room said it would sleep 4, but there was a not-that-comfortable double bed up against the wall on one end (so one of us had to crawl out at the end of the bed) and a roll-out couch. The bathroom was tiny. Not what we had expected for the amount we paid. There was a large blue light outside our room all night long, and the curtains were thin. Not the inn's fault, but the people staying near us were out on the deck coughing and smoking and walking around quite late.

We loved staying at Cape Anne Motor Inn. The room was very clean and the beds are comfy. The view is beautiful and the staff is exceptional.

The best feature of this hotel is that every room has an amazing view of the ocean. This compensates for everything else that may not be outstanding.
Everything’s bit old and tired. There is a beautiful and sad parrot in a cage in the lobby. I’m not sure if this is not animal abuse. Parrots live long. It’s terrible to keep it in a cage its whole life. This poor thing was there last year, too.

The staff were very kind and helpful, check in was smooth.
The room was horribly unclean, with stains and dog hair covering the beds and sheets. The furniture was in poor condition (old and past useful life). The bathroom was dirty and desperately in need of renovation, with poor patch work repairs behind the toilet and around piping.

beautiful location right on the beach. Could watch the sun rise over ocean from the room.
We were on the 3rd floor with no elevators, we unfortunately aren't spring chickens any more so it wasn't fun. coffee wasn't very good.

Quiet, soul-nourishing stay with an incredible view and a beautiful beach to stroll up and down. Access the beach directly from the balcony of the room. Pets welcome. There were many guests with dogs and many locals bring their dogs to the beach. View of the sea, the rocks and the famous two lighthouses is unbeatable. Beds were very comfortable, heating worked great. They provide chairs on the balcony for you to just sit and soak up the view. Though it's technically a motel, it felt like 3-star hotel comfort with a 5-star hotel location.
Breakfast is pretty basic, but the coffee is good and the homemade scones and breads are amazing! The bathroom facilities in our room were a little old and tired, but very clean and we felt very comfortable.

Loved being on the beach, the sound of the waves and being able to bring my dog. Other dog owners respectful. Staff friendly. Great vacation feel. Great place.
No complaints other than being an early riser would have liked coffee being ready a little earlier but, honestly, I had to think hard to find something to criticize.

the location can’t be beat- especially the view from the balcony off the room! the staff were incredibly nice and accommodating. I liked that there was a mini fridge in the room. beds were comfortable. Definitley get up for sunrise from the balcony!
The climate control in summer leaves a bit to be desired. Would be wonderful if could leave balcony door open at night for the fresh and cool ocean breeze, but the balcony can be accessed by anyone and is shared. unfortunately A/C unit blew directly on one bed freezing thatperson while the other person just stayed hot. Not sure if all rooms are set up the same way. but it was completely doable for one night! And at the end of the day you are paying for location!! and it can’t be beat.

The location was great, right on the beach!! The views were so beautiful! The staff was very friendly and accommodating. Being Dog friendly was a huge bonus too!
The room was big but a bit outdated and I wish we had a microwave. I also would rather have a private balcony instead of opening to common area where other guests could walk bye.

The inn is located directly on the beach! all rooms have a view of the ocean! you go sleep with the sound of the waves. pets are allowed. dogs run happily along the water.
the property is in dare need for renovation. it was very clean, though.

What a gem! It was the consummate New England view of the beach and two lighthouses on a jetty, surrounded by a quaint neighborhood.
It’s this wonderful little gem on a quiet, dog-friendly beach. I could wake up and watch sunrise from my cozy bed. Gloucester is a fabulous little town full of amazing food. My friend and I got brunch at George’s, a fancy dinner at the Azorean, and one at the Franklin, and a yummy coffee at Lone Gull.
I would love to come back in the summer but, alas, I live on the west coast.
The noise pollution was the worst part of the stay. Very creaky and paper thin walls. You definitely hear anyone next door and if your upstairs neighbors are heavy-footed, it’s pretty loud. We got ear plugs and that helped.
