Lovely B&B, superbly run by Hilary and John. Our room was delightful, with everything you need for a perfect stay. Breakfast was spot on. Very generous portions provided and beautifully cooked by Hilary. She went the extra mile to get us smoked haddock.
They extended their welcome to our dog, who had a cooked sausage every morning for her breakfast.
Everywhere was spotlessly clean.
Would not hesitate to recommend Summat Else to everyone.

Hilary was the perfect host. She was so welcoming and the room we stayed in was very comfy, clean and a great size. The tea tray was like nothing I've ever seen, so many choices! The bathroom was gorgeous and everything is newly decorated. There is even a fridge in the communal area with cold water and milk.
Breakfast the next day had everything you could wish for and all cooked fresh by Hilary. She even gave us some snacks for our days walking.
Would highly recommend and would definitely return if was in the area.

From start to end, our time at Summat Else was nothing but sensational. Hilary communicated with us before traveling to ensure she was catering to all our needs and even allowed us to arrive early due to a travel mix-up and the room was already ready. The property is very well decorated and has a lovely 'homely' feel to it.
We were in Room 1 which was a double room at the end of the upstairs. The room was very modern and had plenty of storage space for both of us. There was a TV mounted to the wall with a DVD player available. The bathroom was very modern and we were provided with anything we could have possibly needed, including plenty of towels and toilet roll. Although we aren't hot drink lovers, there were plenty of choices available if you were, including tea, coffee, and hot chocolate along with biscuits. We had a partial sea view too which was a nice surprise.
The breakfast was absolutely to die for, with plenty of cooked and continental options available. Hilary freshly cooked the breakfast each morning, cooking to your wants, and allowed plenty of time and even had a chat with you over breakfast, which was nice. We met John on a few occasions too and he was just as welcoming, as it was a nice treat to see their dog also. Hilary was also full of lots of recommendations for New Quay and the surrounding areas, all of which lived up to expectations!
The actual property itself is situated away from the busy atmosphere of the town centre, making it a very peaceful location, overlooking the opposite caravan park. There is plenty of parking available at no extra charge, which is a blessing when visiting a seaside town like New Quay. The property is about a 15-20 minute walk from the town centre (including a rather steep hill to walk up on the way back), but in the event of you not wanting to walk, there is a bus route available just outside the property, heading to the t

Lovely B&B in a great location close to several good eateries. It is owned by a great couple who really do make you feel welcome. The accommodation is spotless and has everything you need. Nice big bathroom with an excellent shower. Fantastic cooked breakfast freshly made, one of the best I've had in a while. Plenty of on site parking. We will definitely be coming back.

Excellent little B & B, Hillary and her husband were their perfect hosts; nothing was too much trouble. The location was easy walking distance to the beach and the bed was so comfy. Highly recommended!

Made very welcome for our short stay as we travelled around Wales. Hot drink making facilities in room - including a huge choice of different teas - and REAL milk available in the fridge outside the room! Great breakfast - plenty of choice and all was delicious. Free parking on the drive.
The property is a little outside of New Quay - but parking around the sea front and harbour is not easy - so this is probably a good thing! Our trip was in mid April (after Easter) so we were not in high season. I would expect that in high season New Quay itself could become quite crowded!

The owner of the B&B, Hilary, was such a lovely, kind and helpful lady. Nothing was too much for her. I did not meet her husband personally but my husband had a chance to chat with bim and said that he was chatty and friendly.
The property is very central to everything, spotlessly clean and well looked after. Also had free parking.
Hilary made a gorgeous breakfast in the morning with plenty of options, both food and beverages.
I would highly recommend Summat Else B&B for comfort and value for money. We will definitely return for another stay.
There was nothing that I could say I disliked about staying here.

Hilary was an absolute darling from start to finish. Her cooked breakfasts were perfection. A good selection of preserves, cereals ect. Even bought me full fat milk in. Was lovely chatting to her while we ate in the mornings. Felt like we had known her for years. Very attentive to our every need. Very helpful with info & phone numbers for restaurants taxis ect. Large selection of different teas, coffee, hot chocolate and cookies in the room. Even had a packet of welsh cakes on the bed waiting for us. Place was spotless. Very comfy large bed. She even gave me a sweet little gift before I left. Shame we couldn't stay longer. Will most definitely stay again.

What a little gem of a find. The room was large and well furnished, all the little finishing touches were excellent, both in the room and bathroom. The Hosts were so friendly and could not do enough to make our stay special. The Breakfast was hearty and plentiful. Couldnt ask for better.
Some sort of lighting on the driveway down to the road at night would be an advantage, everything else was perfect.

We stayed here for 4 nights. Hilary and John couldn’t be more welcoming. Nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast was really good and plentiful. Lovely accommodation. spotlessly clean. It is in easy reach of New Quay - would be possible to walk into the harbour. We would definitely stay there again.

Very clean. Room contained everything you could need and more. On the landing was a communal fridge containing fresh milk and cold water. The room had a kettle and a large selection of tea, coffee and biscuits which were replenished daily. The host was very friendly and she provided an excellent cooked breakfast at a time to suit us.
The location was a little way out from the harbour and places to eat which meant we had to drive every day and pay for a car park. However it was very quiet.

Having never stayed at a B&B before we were unsure what to expect but as soon as we arrived Hilary was there to welcome us and our dog and even offer to help with our luggage. We were instantly made to feel at ease and comfortable with her friendly approach and conversation. We were then shown around and to our room which was beautifully decorated, spotlessly clean and as well as a wide selection of hot drinks and biscuits there was also a bag of treats for our dog which was a lovely touch! The super king bed was the most comfortable bed we’ve slept in. Breakfast was fantastic and Hilary couldn’t do enough for us, offering top ups and fresh toast etc. This is wonderful place to say with delightful, friendly hosts, within walking distance of the town, beaches and eateries, we would highly recommend and definitely be visiting again. Thank you Hilary and John for making us so welcome, keep up the good work :)

We've stayed at the Summat Else B&B previously, however it is now under new management and it has definitely improved! We stayed for four nights with our corgi and he was greeted with enthusiasm and treats which was a lovely touch. He very much enjoyed them and his stay!
It was a good sized double room with ensuite, enough space to put our pup's crate as well as all of our bags too. The refurbishment has created an inviting environment that made it easy to relax and enjoy our stay.
We were supplied with fresh milk in a shared fridge on the landing along with cold decanted water for the hotter days. The rooms were supplied well with towels, hairdryer, kettle, various teas and instant coffee, hot chocolate and biscuits too. These were refreshed as required by Hilary with spares down in the breakfast room.
We took advantage of the cereals provided as well as a lovely cooked breakfast which was faultless. There were also yogurts, porridge, fresh fruits and other options to pick from so there is something for all tastes.
We mentioned in passing that it was part of our mini-moon and Hilary supplied us with a lovely bottle of bubbly to celebrate which was so kind of them! An added, unexpected bonus that shows the thought that they put into making their guests feel at home.
There was ample parking for us, and the B&B is only a short walk to the beach and the town centre.
We thoroughly recommend staying here.

Hilary is a wonderful, friendly and helpful host. We were made very welcome. The house is lovely, clean and comfortable. Extras such as fresh milk, chilled water, Welsh cakes and biscuits were very generous. Our coffee flask was willingly filled in the morning. Highly recommended B and B

Hilary and John are brilliant hosts we were made to feel like friends rather than “B&B guests”.
As soon as we arrived Hilary was there to greet us and even gave a hand with our luggage!
Nothing was too much trouble; Hilary was so kind and thoughtful.
Hilary was so obliging meeting every need that we may have wished for. That included the timing of our delicious breakfasts and advice on any local walks, beaches and eateries in the area.
The B&B is immaculate. Our bed was very comfortable. There was sufficient storage in the room with a wardrobe and plenty of drawer space too, a very up to date bathroom with a lovely hot shower.
It was a great idea to have a fridge on the landing with fresh cold water and milk; this was replenished each day so was always fresh!
Breakfast was amazing with plenty of choices (including gluten free options). Without hesitation we would definitely recommend this B&B.
The only thing we didn't like - was having to leave! :-)
