The view of Seto Naikai is wonderful, and the structure of course is beautiful, staffs are warm and helpful. I would definitely recommend here for your stay in Awaji.

The carpet in the room is dirty, doesn’t fit the atmosphere of the hotel.

The rooms were a bit tired, some of the finishes could use an upgrade or refurbishment. no outdoor furniture on balcony

The great hospitality, cozy lobby, majestic sea view. Very nice people, nice breakfast.

This Ando-designed 14-room hotel is a gem. Perched overlooking the sea (note. NO bedrooms have a sea view), it is calm and peaceful, and as Ando likes, really connects you with nature & the elements. Very spacious rooms with fridge & kettle, and an ice machine & microwave down the hall.

The onsen has been closed throughout Covid (unless you’re staying in rooms 301 or 302) - which wasn’t clear on their website. Fortunately the pool was full, and in early May was plenty warm for a swim. The common areas have some very non-Ando elements, which takes away from his clear & uncluttered style, but otherwise this is a great place.

It was deigned by an famous Japanese architect ANDOH Tadao.

It was rather old and not barrier-free facilities.

Location and view was fab.

The main design, the interior and atmosphere did not go together.
