Lenno is a lovely small town conveniently located on west side of lake. Easy to get around with access to swimming, ferries and good restaurants. Not too busy but had everything we wanted. Apartment is really nice, airy and well appointed. Owners were lovely to deal with, helpful with recommendations and even brought us a welcome bottle of wine. Our only issue was that it is close to the road and the front bedroom was noisy from trucks and motorcycles at night and in the morning.

We loved our time in Lenno it was so central to all the great areas to sightsee. We loved the apartment, the views from our balcony were breathtaking and the beds were very comfy. We have 2 kids they are 14yrs & 11yrs old and they thoroughly enjoyed our Italian adventure. Barrie and Julie were so helpful advising us on best places to visit so that we got the most out of our trip. We will definitely be back!

The flat is very nicely furnished, very clean and has very comfortable beds. The view from the balcony over the lake is absolutely stunning. It is quite possible to just sit there at breakfast time forgetting your plans for the day. It is just a two-minute walk from the flat to the lake, so you can go swimming even before breakfast from a tiny beach. A walk to Lenno's centre complete with restaurants, cafes, lido and pier is just a pleasant 10-15 minute stroll along the "greenway del lago". We never used the car during our stay but did everything on foot or by boat. Very relaxing. One thing to consider though: the flat is on the busy main road so it can become a little loud in the master bedroom, even at night.

The apartment is as described with a fantastic view overlooking the lake. The apartment is also close to a good supermarket, the village centre, bus route and the ferry. Lenno is a lovely quiet village, which was a joy to return to from the more touristy places. Barrie and Julie were excellent hosts who responded to all questions promptly and also helped with food on arrival when our flight was delayed when we arrived quite late. Lovely location would definitely recommend.

The apartment is very comfortable with everything you need and more. Incredibly clean. We spent most of the week on the terrace just enjoying the beautiful view. The apartment is in a convenient location. Within walking distance to shops, cafes, the Villa Balbianello and the ferry. It is exactly what an Italian vacation home should be.

Beautiful apartment with a breathe taking view from the balcony. Barry and Julie went out of their way to help, including getting some shopping ready for us when we arrived. I was a bit concerned when we were told there was no air conditioning but found later that it was not needed as there is a lovely breeze coming in from the lake. You can get the "dotto" train from Lenno to Menagio which runs along side of the lake. Lovely market on Tuesdays in the village square. All in all a fabulous holiday in an amazing apartment.

We stayed here as part of a winter tour of the lake and were delighted with our choice of accommodation. The home was ideal for our needs as the ferry and bus services are within walking distance of the restaurants and bars. There is also a supermarket just a few minutes walk from the home. Other villages like Menaggio and Bellagio were pretty to visit but we felt Lenno boasted the prettiest lake front promenade and was not nearly as touristy (we only heard italian accents in Lenno as opposed to american ones in Bellagio for example) We will miss waking up to the views looking out from the balcony and the magic of the lake from the living room from dawn to dusk. A big thank you to Barrie who oversaw the booking and met us on arrival. We booked directly with the owners and not via the site and saved over £100 on the stay! We would not hesitate to book this home and have recommended the home to friends.

We have just returned from a fantastic holiday based in this great apartment in Lenno. The view of the lake is not exaggerated, it really is stunning. We won't forget the chilled mornings and evenings sitting on the balcony taking in the view with either a coffee or glass of wine in hand :) Inside, the apartment is lovely - nicely furnished with everything you need for self catering (although we tended to eat out most nights as we were wanting to indulge!). One of the best things about this apartment was its location. We had decided not to hire a car as we're both a little nervous driving abroad and didn't fancy the hassle. It took me a while to find a place that was in easy walking distance to all of the following; mini markets, restaurants & cafes, bars, places to swim and ferry & bus stop. The apartment couldn't be better placed for all of the above. It's even in easy walking distance to two of the most famous villas on the lake; Balbianello and Balbiano (which neither of us knew before booking so this was a bonus!). We spent time visiting Bellagio, Menaggio, Varenna and Argegno as well as chilling out at the various lidos and beaches. A few tips: 1. The San Giorgio hotel at the end of the promenade in Lenno has a fantastic garden with an amazing lake view, great swimming and very comfy sunbeds! The hotel is family run and very friendly. Non-residents are welcome to take advantage of the garden and sunbeds as long as you buy some drinks throughout the day. They even stored our luggage for us after we'd checked out and had some hours to kill :) 2. A visit to the Villa Monastero gardens in Varenna is an absolute must. The peaceful serenity of the gardens towards the early evening and the panoramic view of the lake was one of the highlights of our holiday. Afterwards we had a lovely meal at a restaurant called 'Al Prato' in a small and peaceful square just set back from the lake front - highly recommended. Lovely food and a friendly and professional service. Thanks to Barrie and Julie for being extremely accommodating before and during our stay. Barrie went out of his way to pick us up from Argegno on our arrival when he found out we were heading to a ferry stop with a longer walk than we'd realised (this saved us from a great deal of exertion from an already quite long journey from Venice!). On the way we were provided with lots of very useful tips and advice on the local area. Overall a thoroughly enjoyable holiday and we hope to return one day.

Fantastic holiday in this most beautiful part of the world! Lenno is a great place to stay - really convenient with the ferry 10 mins walk from the apartment (saves using the car all the time if you hire one!), a supermarket only a couple of mins walk up the road (we didn't notice too many supermarkets in the area so this was a real bonus!) and plenty of choice of restaurants to stroll to in the evenings (again, saves needing the car so everyone can have a drink!). Great that the apartment has its own secure parking. Plenty to see & do - we would recommend the kayaking from Ossuccio - one of the highlights of our trip, especially viewing Villa del Balbianello from the water. The guy at the marina was really helpful, friendly and spoke really great English! And it was cheap - 10 Euros (about £8) for a double kayak for 1 hour which is partly why we did it twice! Don't forget to take your ID though! Great day out in Milan - drove to & parked in Como, then an hour's train ride from there (costing about £8 per adult for a return ticket). One word of warning – the weather can change very quickly! You might well get some rain (and particularly thunderstorms!), though we did have wonderful sunshine as well - just be prepared for anything! All in all though, a lovely apartment and a great base for a wonderful holiday – thank you Julie & Barrie!

The owners Barrie and Julie were fantastic even before we had arrived - they booked a restaurant for us, as it was a busy holiday weekend, and arranged for local food to be in the apartment. Then on arrival we were met by Barrie, who went out of his way to help after we left a bag on the bus and he drove me around the lake to retrieve it! The apartment has an amazing view of the lake, is well equipped and perfect for a family of 4. We spent one week here using public transport. It's a short walk down to Lenno, where you can get the ferry across to Bellagio and Villa Carlotta. Family highlights were kayaking from Ossuccio around Sala Comacina, a trip around the gardens and house of Villa del Balbianello, and walking up to the Sacri Monti above Lenno. The supermarket was 5 minute walk from the apartment. Local restaurants were friendly and ice creams great. We will definitely go back!

Immaculate Estate. Breathtaking views from the lake. Close to Lake & beach. 2nd Cloakroom. Big bathrooms, so you can have spacious showers and spend some time in the bath tub. Walking distance to the shops. Regarding the lake, breathtaking view. Good to eat and drink in the bistros around the lake. The Lake is huge, with many little Italian picturesque villages to visit. The top one is Bellagio, which is at the tip of were the lake divides into a two way leg of the lake. Como has an impressive medieval city center, with many good shops and cafe´s to wine. Around the region there are several winiries which you can visit and have tours of wine making. Franciacorta and Valtallina were two which we visited and had top reception. This region in Italy is very accommodating, picturesque. The tips and experience of Barrie and Julie are really amazing. They have become locals of the lake with their knowledge and passion for the area and Italian culture. The Real Estate properties that they have to rent are second to none. We were expecting a good apartment, however we had an excellent one in which will makes us visit the Lake more times and enjoy this romantic Italian piece of paradise. Simply a top high end destination.

What an amazing place to stay. We had all the luxuries we needed to feel right at home in the most beautiful place on earth. Comfort and super location. What more could you want? Barry and Julie also went out of their way to make us feel welcome, recommended great local hang outs and wineries. We were able to explore the area and relax, just fantastic!

My husband and I just returned home to VA from a glorious week on Lake Como. From the moment I booked it, Barrie and Julie could not have been more accommodating, gracious, lovely and sincere. Having come from a week on a houseboat in Venice, it was delightful to unpack and settle in to such a perfectly laid out, impeccably clean, well equipped apartment with the most amazing panoramic views of the lake from the balcony. We prepared many meals in the super efficient kitchen, washed several loads of laundry in the washing machine and played cards on the balcony while enjoying Prosecco and the breathtaking views. After walking the entire Greenway and driving from Como to Gravedona, this is the PERFECT location (and you don't need a car)! Thank you Julie and Barrie for all the wonderful restaurant suggestions (making reservations and giving us a lift), assistance with kayak and motorboat rentals and overall unending hospitality. We stayed in the apartment for a week with our grand-daughter and what a wonderful time we had. The apartment was central to everything with a short walk to the ferry. We were greeted by Barrie and Julie and were made very welcome and were only a telephone call away should we have needed them. They were very informative and were a great help to us. They informed us of a lovely restaurant in Lennon which we tried and it was a great find. All in all, very very much worth a trip to Lake Como and definately stay in this apartment. Thank you.... This place was amazing! The hosts were most welcoming and the apartment was like a show home. It had brilliant views of the lake and our stay there was everything we could of asked for. Will definitely go back again 10 out if 10.

This apartment has everything - it's very clean, well kitted out, has a nice view of the lake from its balcony, and is located within easy walking distance of restaurants, a supermarket and the ferry stop. We had lovely weather (first week of March) - and walked the 'Greenway', a gentle walking route between Colonno and Cadenabbia enabling you to see much more than if you just travel along the lake by car. Albergo Plinio was our favourite restaurant, but had a great gelato La Fabbricata del Gelato on more than one occasion.

Thank you so much Barry and Julie for helping to make our honeymoon at Lenno, Lake Como so amazing;everything from the lovely bottle of Prosecco on our arrival to the spotless apartment with fantastic lake views made this a week to remember. The weather although changeable was kind to us and enabled us to not miss a thing we wanted to do, from kayaking on the lake at Ossucio (Don't forget to take ID or you wont get a boat!) and getting an amazing lakeside view of Villa Balbienello and its gardens, sampling wine at a relatives vineyard www.cantineangelinetta.com at Domaso, north of the lake, to travelling to yet another relative's restaurant Chalet Gabrielle Polentoteca which is situated about 12 kilometers from Bellagio and which serves the most amazing food specific to the locality and has spectacular views of Lake Como and the Swiss Alps. All the food provided a gastronomic delight to the holiday,whether it was smoked fish from the local supplier next to and behind the supermarket, cooked chicken from the market, the delightful meal lakeside at Plinio's or the delicious local ice-cream available at all hours!. Additionally there was nothing quite like the atmosphere in the local bar watching the Italian's defeated by Uruguay in the world cup although personally I think Louis Suares should have been sent off for making an Italian player a gastronomic delight! However a number of Limoncello's tempered my view on this! All in all a holiday to savor in every way. Thank you Barry and Julie. We will be recommending you to our friends! PS the museum in Dongo is well worth a visit with an excellent commentary on the role of the Italian Resistance in the 2nd world war and its involvement with the capture and execution of Benito Mussolini......Lots of the action was around Garzeno, from where my family name comes....

Great apartment just right for three ladies travelling together. Supermarket 3 minutes walk down the road and only 10 minutes walk to Lenno - a small number of cafes and restaurants. We tried them all and all were very good. Local tourist train and boats to other places on the lake conveinetly available in Lenno. The apartment balcony with its view out over toward the lake was a great place to have a leisurely breakfast. Apartment well equipment for all you need. Only criticism (a very minor one) a cafetiere for coffee or something similar would have been good. Overall a great apartment in a good location.

My wife and I stayed for a week in late September early October 2013 . We had a lovely relaxing holiday despite some cloudy skies. The apartment itself is spotlessly clean, very well equipped with SAT TV sound system and good quality fixtures and fittings. We were very impressed with the standard of the apartment but by far the best thing is the lovely view of the lake. Many happy hours spent watching the world on the water go by! Also it's only a 10 minute stroll down into the lovely lakeside village of Lenno with good selection of places to eat and a really enjoyable market day. The ferry stop gives easy access other attractions on the lake. The local supermarket is just a few yards down the road so again no need to get the car out if you don't want to. We loved the apartment and are seriously considering returning.

We have become regulars staying at Barrie and Julie (B&J) apartments over the last few years. Our boys, who are 16 next week, have grown up since their first stay at Lake Como, it's a place we all love, and despite their teenage years the boys are always keen to come back. This was a new B&J apartment for us, but as ever it was just what we want. Modern and well appointed and always spotless - just want you look for in a holiday home. We've always loved Lenno, and the apartment allows you to stroll into town and to the Lido/Villa and ferry stop. We were not familiar with the 'Greenway' always having driven before, but this is a lovely walk away from the road. We also enjoyed our 'own' beach, literally a stones throw from the apartment. As was the supermarket, which ensured fresh bread every morning. A really great place to unwind.

What a fantastic apartment with lovely views over the lake. The apartment was in immaculate condition and is clearly well maintained and has all the bits n pieces that you require for a chill out holiday. A few minutes walk gets you to the lakeside and there is a fantastic greenway walk right bedside the apartment leading to neighbouring villages/towns. A 2 minute walk gets you to a pizza restaurant and a supermarket so no excuse for going hungry! A stroll into Lenno centre gets you to the ferry terminal where you can join any number of boats going to various destinations over the length land breadth of the lake. Lots and lots to see and do here! Lots of help from Julie and Barrie ensured that we were well informed and enjoyed a wonderful and relaxing holiday.

The apartment was in a wonderful location and had gret views of the lake. It was handily located near to the Greenway which is great for walks in the area. Conveniently nearby was a Supermarket and several really good restaurants. The apartment itself was really nice with all mod cons. We would recommend arranging Wi Fi which the owners sorted for us at a low extra cost. Secure parking is provided so no worries about leaving the hire car unattended. Julie met us on arrival and again on departure and provided a contact number should there be any problem during the stay .......there wasn't. All in all a wonderful relaxing holiday, Lenno is conveniently close to Swiitzerland should you wish to venture further afield. St Moritz and Locarno are good day trips. Thanks Barrie and Julie.

We had a wonderful week at this lovely apartment near the charming town of Lenno. We found the property modern, clean, well cared for and well equipped. The location, while on a major street, was very quiet and a short walk on cobblestoned streets to the town. Lenno itself has a lovely Lido and lakeside walk with cafes and trattoria on the lake. We liked that it was not as busy as many other towns, but still had everything you could want. A super market is just a walk away and Lenno has excellent ferry service. Barrie and Julie were very accessible and responsive. We would stay again and recommend it to friends.

Spent a lovely week in Lenno on Lake como. The apartment was excellent, really modern. The beds were so comfortable and the views from the balcony were stunning - especially in th early midday sun. It was a short stroll into Lenno where there are several bars & restaurants. The apartment is also in close proximity to a great walk, which takes you up the surrounding hillsides for amazing views over the Lake. Barrie & Julie were really lovely and helpful. Would highly recommend anyone to use them. It was great they are British so you didn't have any communication problems.
