Futon confortable ++++
Je n ai rien a dire sur ce point.

Amazing stay! Very traditional Minka style home with lots all room and all the amenities. Overlooks a beautiful garden with a fresh running water stream. The biggest draw of this home is the host! She was so nice and helpful and even gave us a lift to the station, so we didn't have to walk in the rain. Highly recommend this home! Will definitely be returning next time.

It was extremely authentic. The person owning this old traditional house gladly shows you the wonderful ancient items that are there. Everything was clean, the futon was comfortable. The garden is so lovely. It felt like a trip in old Japan. We didn't see Mt. Fuji because of the weather, unfortunately, but just this house was worth it. Also the price is incredibly cheap for the experience.

I have stayed twice here now. Absolutly beautiful, my favorite place to stay in Japan
The detached house needs to share bathroom with other two guest, so sometimes its hard to say when its available or not.

This is one of the most beautiful places I have ever stayed in my life. It is a historical house (oshi no ie) where pilgrims used to stay before visiting shrines and climbing to the summit of Mount Fuji. The neighbourhood is historical and has other houses you can visit, but this is one of the few you can stay.
The neighbourhood also offers some options of restaurants, and there is a konbini nearby.
The house owner is a very kind and gentle woman. Especially if you can speak Japanese, she can tell you all about the house, but I suppose it is worth staying there even if you don't.
Please note that this place is a bit uphill from the nearest train station (Fujisan Station). Also, with the exception of the Kitaguchi Hongu Fuji Sengen Shrine, most of the city's attractions, such as FujiQ highland or Arakurayama Sengen Park, are a bit far from the place. However, none of the above should keep you off of staying in this house.

The house is really authentically japanese and beautifully kept. But the best was the host herself. She really looked after us and even picked us up from the station because it rained. We had a wonderful stay and would most certainly come back. 🙏👌
It is an authentically japanese old house with all its charme.

We were looking for authentic Japanese accommodation experience and this was (at this point) the best place we have stayed in within 2 visits to Japan. The house we were staying in felt like the host moved out and let us stay for several nights. With all the traditional house building it was equipped with all required modern electronics like heaters, toilet and television. It was also very spacious, smartly divided into separate rooms. The main one had an amazing view of the garden. Living there was a treat. Everything we could ever wish for. Avery special experience was in the morning, when the sun and wind were playing contrasty garden flora shadows on the paper window shades. The host treated us extremely well and offered a quick tour in the main building. If we would ever come to Fujiyoshida again, this would be our very likely stay again. Highly recommend it to others. Oh and the big shared bath in the main bilding is something special. Thank you!
Some people may need a private bath, there is no such in this house. Also, in the cold season you will be keeping your bedroom temperature up, not the house, so going to the cold toilet room might not be so convenient. However this is exactly how the Japanese live and use facilities - this very much adds to the experience. There is also a pretty loud stream of water going through the property, but we have adjusted the second night already (to the heater sound too). Again, I must stress, this is the authentic thing, if you want to have - this is it. We enjoyed it very much! (a small message to the owner: few simple ceramic dish sets would really help)

I really liked staying here. Not only was the owner wonderful, but the location was perfect for climbing Mt. Fuji. I really recommend staying here.

The place itself is beautiful and the owner is very kind.
You can have a wonderful Japanese experience here.
The place was absolutely freezing (end of September) and even though the room itself had air-conditioning we were asked to turn it off during the night. Going to the toilet during the night (to another part of the house) was a cold nightmare, especially since we didn't have a yukata either (make sure to bring pijamas).

Beautiful building and great location for climbing fuji. Large room.
The bath water was not hot enough (but still acceptable)

Wonderful place to stay. Very welcoming. River outside was beautiful and the sound put me to sleep. Slept very soundly in preparation for climbing Mt. Fuji the next day!

Very well maintained Japanese traditional Ryokan style hotel with over 350 years history. You can feel the spiritual power from the house and garden to prepare yourself before Mt Fuji climbing. Okami san, hotel hostess is very kind lovely person.
The entrance gate is quite narrow for a Van size vehicle to drive through but it is the traditional size so you just need to show your driving technic there.
