Table à manger avec 4 sièges.

Bright and Beautiful was perfect in all categories. The best was communicating with the owner. He responded quickly to all my questions. He was very helpful with giving us great recommendations about where to go and what to try. I was so grateful that he met us at the bus stop and got us to the apartment. The apartment had everything to make coffee and cook a meal. The location was perfect and close to the Fado Museum. That was a good reference when booking a private tour and letting the driver know where to pick you up. Many restaurants close by for drinks or a meal. The train station is just a few minutes away and walking to all the attractions was easy from here. Beds are comfortable and shower has great hot water and pressure. The one flight of stairs is very steep so we had to be very careful. We just slid our suitcases down on the day we left. Highly recommend this VRBO!!

From our experience, if a property has a good host, the property will be as advertised and the stay enjoyable. Paulo was an excellent host. Prior to our arrival he provided a wealth of information on restaurants, wines and ports, the various neighborhoods and suggestions of things to do. He met us at the airport and upon arrival explained everything about the apartment. During our stay he responded almost instantly to any questions or concerns we had. The apartment was clean, very well equipped with everything we needed, and perfectly located. The neighborhood was safe and had a very pleasant local feel. There are many restaurants and small shops within 100 meters. Though we walked to many locations, a bus stop is a 3-minute walk and the Metro is 8 minutes. In the end we wished we could have stayed longer. We highly recommend it.

I travelled with my three kids, two teenagers and a preteen. We loved the location and could walk everywhere. Kids were safe to go out and explore on their own.
Only thing missing for us was a grocery store nearby, although there are small market shops to buy essentials.
Paulo is a great host, the airport pick up was really helpful and he showed us the main landmarks on the way to the apartment, which really helped situate us. Paulo was very helpful and responsive, and even gave us tips on what to do when we went to the south coast.
The apartment is small, advertised as sleeps 4 but is actually a 2 person unit and I was charged an additional fee for 2 extra people, which is not advertised. Also not advertised is a local municipal tax I had to pay on check in.
I recommend Paulo’s place and would stay there again.

Alfama apartment was very cute and cozy, very lively and conveniently located to the major tourist spots in Lisbon.
Paulo was the loveliest and most hospitable host, full with information and very responsive.

Paulo was a great owner, and provided knowledgeable, great suggestions for sites, food, experiences, etc. Alfama neighborhood was lively. If you travel in the summer, be prepared for it to be warm! Also, local summer festivals can make it a bit noisy late into the night. Overall, a great stay. It was everything I expected, plus. Paulo is very attentive to questions and needs.

The property has everything you need for a break in Lisbon. Right in the centre of the old Town Alfama. Really enjoyed our stay,. Paulo is very helpful, thank you for all you advice,

We spent a full week in Paulo’s apartment. From the beginning and throughout our stay, Paulo was the perfect host with great communication and occasional checking ins. The apartment was spacious, clean, and comfortable. Ideal for the two of us. The location in the Alfama neighborhood of Lisbon is ideal. Restaurants and coffee shops in close proximity. Just a short 5 minute walk is arguably the best viewpoint in Lisbon (Miradouro de Santa Luzia). We found it to be the perfect spot for a refreshing afternoon cocktail while enjoying a spectacular view high above the city and river. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this apartment and highly recommend it to anyone wanting to stay in the Alfama neighborhood of Lisbon. Thank you Paulo!

Location is fantastic
Near to a host of small restaurants and lovely square
Short 5 or 10 minute Walk into centre of Lisbon

Probably make an exception here and return some day

It’s no wonder Paulo is a big hit on vrbo, he truly does care. His communication was excellent, recommended amazing restaurants (a muralha down the street which we ate at 4 times) and his apartment was wonderful. I would recommend anyone stay here!

One of the best things about this choice was that the manager picked us up at the airport at, drove us to the apartment and showed us around. He also provided lots of information about what to do. So nice!!!
As it was before 9am we had to leave in order for the apartment to be cleaned. So we climbed up the hill behind the apartment and found spectacular views of the city and the water, all while enjoying coffee and a delicious Portuguese tart on a terrace!
We were in a very old part of the city, all pedestrian with lots of little restaurants. We were in walking distance of the water, the downtown and many spectacular sights.
I highly recommend this choice.

Perfect place to catch a cruise ship. Close to town

The apartment size and amenities was just what we needed for our short stay in Lisbon.
Paulo was fantastic. He picked us up at the airport and dropped us off at the dock to board our cruise ship.
He was very cordial and helpful with suggestions for places to see in Lisbon.
Our only concern was the stairs leading to the second floor apartment. They were extremely steep with very narrow steps. That should be mentioned in the description of the apartment. Fortunately, Paulo was very gracious in helping us get our luggage up and down the stairs.
We would recommend this unit to others staying in Lisbon.
4.0
Paulo was amazing! Prior to our trip he communicated with us often, providing a list of suggested day trips and must do’s. We arrived via cruise ship which was very close to the place we met Paulo, and the apartment was close to the meeting spot. Although the apartment was up hill, as is everything in Alfama, it have been an easy walk if we weren’t dragging three suitcases and backpacks.
The steps to the apartment were very steep and short. Not much room to plant your feet. The apartment is small, but cozy, and it did show signs of age.
The kitchen was not okay. When I wrote Paulo to tell him of the issues, he was at the apartment immediately to address the problem.
The location was fun! Everything was close by…restaurants with the best cod fish, fado singers with strong melancholic voices, and a castle only 800 meters away, all up hill! It was a pleasure meeting and working with Paul

Apartment is roomier than it seems online — great host — be prepared for the steep stairs. The neighborhood is busy so noisy at night. Great value stay.

The two of us were comfortable in this efficient apartment for five nights- once we got ourselves up the long, steep stairs. We ate light meals in and main meals at one of the hundreds of charming possibilities in Lisbon. Because of heat we needed windows open which made for much noise from mid morning to midnight from the busy pedestrian street and restaurants beneath the windows. The location is a convenient walk to Santa Apolonia station for train and metro which we used often. Lots of Tuk Tuks waiting for tour hire at nearby Fado Museum square.
Communication with Paulo was immediate and thorough right from first inquiries!

The apartment is exactly as illustrated on VRBO. The apartment is located in Alfama (the oldest neighborhood.in Lisbon). If you enjoy staying in narrow, curvy, steep and cobblestone streets, this place is for you - Very charming. Restaurants and drinking establishments everywhere - both traditional Portuguese and foods of all nations. The host is awesome - he picked us up at the airport, gave us a quick tour of Alfama and showed us around the apartment. He also checked on us several times to ensure everything was ok. He was great!
We would not hesitate stay here again on our next visit to Lisbon! Thank you for the great hospitality!

WONDERFUL LOCATION
THIS IS A NICE APARTMENT IN A WONDERFUL LOCATION WITH EVERYTHING WE NEEDED, EVEN A SMALL WASHING MACHINE! THE STAIRS ARE QUITE STEEP AND SHALLOW, AS IS EVERYTHING IN THIS AREA OF LISBON, SO IF YOU ARE NOT VERY STEADY ON YOUR FEET, I WOULDN'T RECOMMEND THIS APARTMENT. OTHERWISE, IT IS GREAT!

The location of this small, efficient apartment is perfect. Accessible only by foot, Taxis can still bring you nearby by dropping you off at the Fado Museum. From the apartment it is only 4 minutes or less to dozens of restaurants and other authentic Portuguese experiences, including the Castle of St. George, Tram 28, and an overlook of the city. The quick climb up to that scenic spot will take your breath away.
The host is extraordinarily good about communication, kindly picked us up at the airport, and gave us a quick orientation when we arrived.
More generally, Lisbon is a wonderful city to visit. Three days minimum. If you can, take a backstreets culinary tour.

The overall experience may be the best I have had with VRBO. The place was very nice in a very central location. But what sets the place apart is how great the owner was making so easy to stay. Great communication prior to the stay to learn about Lisbon even better getting picked up at the airport and driven to the unit by the owner. No worries about how to find the place, great information about the local area.

A wonderful stay in Alfama
This apartment was lovely. It’s perfect for a couple. The apartment is a nice size, with a great and well-appointed kitchen. The bathroom has a very nice shower and the bed is cozy. The location is ideal! We loved hearing fado drift in through the windows in the evenings — a lovely ambiance.
Paulo is a phenomenal host. He sent so much great information even before we arrived! I really appreciated having his recommendations as I planned our itinerary. The airport pickup was a great convenience, and Paulo was great about checking in on us throughout the trip to see if there was anything we needed.
I’m so glad we chose to stay here for our first visit to Lisbon!

Very easy access to public transportation and some good eating places. The host could not have been more helpful and our stay in Lisbon was made richer by his help and advice. Stairs going up to the apartment are very steep but a pleasant place to stay.

Great central location, Excellent Host
This small apartment is right in the middle of the Alfama area of Lisbon. Very quaint small ally’s and streets make this area a great place to explore. The apartment is small but has all of the amenities one could need. If for any reason you do need anything, Paulo, the owner is hands down the best owner from a service and hospitality perspective I have ever worked with and I have used VRBO and Home Away for over 30 trips previously.
The only two things to be aware of is:
- the stairs up to the second floor apartment are very steep and might be difficult for anyone with issues walking or climbing.
- Being in the center of things it can be a little loud until the restaurants close at about midnight which adds to the feeling of community of this area. We loved it! But, Ear plugs are recommended for anyone wanting to retire early.
We will definitely stay here again when we return to Lisbon!

Perfect Alfama apartment!
It is a lovely, well designed apartment up a steep, short staircase to a second floor flat. Clean and very well laid out and equipped. Communicating with Paulo was exceptional and made our trip even more special.

Great Place to stay
Apartment was great for visiting Lisbon. Good location in Alfama and near nicest part of walk along the waterfront and great property owner. Kitchener and bathroom worked very well.
Be aware stairs to unit are very steep if you have mobility issues and bed is standard European double (smallish for North Americans), but we really enjoyed our stay!

Great apartment in the Alfama.
We chose this apartment partly on the basis of the preceding reviews, which we feel give an accurate picture.
We stayed at the apartment in January and thought it was very good value.
The apartment is an authentic part of the Alfama. As such, it includes a short, steep set of stairs at the entrance. Inside, comfort levels are high. Perfect for two people.
We love the Alfama. It's a very distinctive part of Lisbon. It has charm and plenty of life. Lots of great cafes, bars and restaurants within five minutes walk. Don't come here for a quiet break!
Paulo is a very genuine owner who provides a great service. To be met at the airport can be very helpful.

Authentic experience in the Alfama
We are so glad that we got to experience staying in the historic Alfama area. The apartment was bright with plenty of space. Paulo was a perfect host and we really enjoyed chatting with him. It was so convenient for him to pick us up at the airport. The location is perfect for listening to some Fado, with many great restaurants, and even some fantastic Gelato.

Best VRBO host ever!
We have stayed at many VRBO properties and have had many outstanding hosts. Paulo takes the prize! From our very first contact, long before we arrived in Lisbon, he made us feel welcome beyond measure and went above and beyond the call throughout our short stay. The information he provided ahead of time about what to do during our stay was helpful and spot on. He even went out of his way to get us good and inexpensive tickets to the Portugal/Luxemburg football match (and Portugal won!). The apartment is exactly as pictured and was just the right size for the two of us. The coffee machine went kablooey on us and Paula got right on it and brought us a new one--phenomenal attention to service. As others have said, the location in Alfama is perfect. Because it is in the heart of the area, there is expected nighttime street noise. The double-pane widows, wooden shutters, and ear plugs offer peaceful nights. The stairs are narrow and steep but if you pretend you are on a sea-going ship from the Age of Discovery and hold onto the sturdy railings, that just adds to the charm. We would stay here again in a heartbeat! Ruth Ann and Jim, University Place, Washington, USA
