Shades of Blue is an exceptional fully equipped home that can accommodate small families and large family groups. Multiple indoor and outdoor areas overlook the marine park at the very north of Baird Bay. A large spa with a view in the outdoor shed was the cherry on top for us. Your own shell beach, which our 4 year old enjoyed, is accessible by a pleasant walk for able bodies down the hill. Overall, we found Shades of Blue one of the best getaway and family houses we have stayed at and we have stayed at a lot of places around the world. It can get windy up on the hill but that just added to the experience; for us the elevation enabling you to look over the shades of the blue as the water changes more than compensated. Streak Bay and surrounds are easily accessible by bitumen and good dirt roads.

Beautiful views over a small inlet from a very well set up house. Everything provided for a comfortable stay, the kitchen set up was excellent.

We did not pick up from the website that the property was so far from Streaky Bay (over 30kms) and that there was a fair bit of unsealed road. We came from Streaky Bay and did not see any signage. Some would be helpful. We also had trouble with the key code as we had not been given the correct code. However Anne was extremely helpful and understood our frustration! After this all went well.

the location was excellent, about 20 minutes from Streaky Bay, overlooking a marine reserve bay. The home was excellently furnished and presented, with great facilities for larger groups such as table tennis darts etc. there were plenty of board games for all ages and even pencils and colouring for younger kids. even being secluded and away from it all the internet was great and with Foxtel and netflix everyone would be catered for. We thouroughly enjoyed the stay and would recommend it to anyone venturing over that part of SA.

we had a few small issues when we got there, such as the key code didn't work but that was resolve quickly with a few messages, and most likely because we changed our booking and came a few days early the place hadn't been prepared to the hosts standards. again a few messages and that was resolved quickly and thoughtfully by the hosts which is testament to the pride they take in providing a great home for their visitors.

Everything!!! This property had absolutely everything you could possibly want. Along with amazing views. Beautifully decorated and stocked to make the stay one to remember.

The place is specious and generous appointed. The isolated location with direct access to the bay is very beautiful in its simplicity. It's the perfect place to spend several days of relaxation with family or a small group of friends, cooking in the excellent open kitchen, or using the house facilities like a jacuzzi bath and kayak. The wifi connection was also excellent. We stayed there to go swimming with sea lions and dolphins at the nearby Baird Bay. The most surprising thing was a generously stocked up pantry (we assume a combination of hosts' shopping and other guests pay-it-forward) that takes care of the concern of having to drive 40 minutes to the shops if you have forgotten something. We truly enjoyed it, as we enjoyed the fast responsiveness of our hosts.

We can't fault this property. Indeed it is very isolated but it's part of its charm. It was a bit difficult to find it in the evening because the street number wasn't lit up and there are no clear indications on the long unsealed road of where you are at if, like in our case, we had no Vodafone signal and the GPS couldn't pick up the precise location. But that's a note to travelers and not a fault of the property

What an amazing house. Located on the water , no neighbors in sight. House is beautiful - everything we could have asked for - we wished we had time to just enjoy the house and relax. Fully equipped kitchen - nothing was missing. We had bought our own food as it is very isolated. Streaky Bay is not to far but lots of wildlife on roads at night. Unpaved road was no drama at all - its in great condition.
