My family and I booked three rooms at Alquimista and had a wonderful stay. The rooms are very well decorated and clean, the owners and their staff are very nice and helpful, and they have a wonderful restaurant! The location is also great. highly recommend!

Breakfast was excellent. Very good expresso coffee with fresh orange juice, scones, croissants, toasts, fresh fruit, and the best scramble eggs I ever had (cooked with butter and herbs, it was delicious).
Also had a wonderful lunch (pesca del día/ Corvina served with vegetables, and my wife grilled vegetables over hummus) in a peacefully back yard.
Staff was great and the owner was very informative about options to enjoy Carrasco area

Fabulous surroundings, fabulous room, exquisite cuisine from breakfast lunch and dinner, mark and Carolina could not do more to make you feel at home excellent care always willing to help and make your stay a fabulous experience. Best boutique hotel in Montevideo if not the whole of uruguay.

A delightful reprieve from modern hotels. Wonderful combination of old world charm and quality, contemporary amenities, excellent food and wine, a relaxing garden with a small swimming pool, close to the beach and walking distance to downtown Carrasco shops and restaurants. The owners and staff really personalized the stay there as well, with fluency in both English and Spanish. Enjoyable conversations. Now my go to place when in Montevideo.

The room was quiet, very clean, spacious. Breakfast was very good and included in the price. Friendly staff who gave us ideas for things to do in Montevideo. We appreciated that the host spoke English as we are still learning Spanish.
