This hotel was a positive surprise. Especially the atmosphere which is a sort of historic-romantic approach, without being obsolete but perfectly matching the idealized version of the old ‘kurort’ Schlangenbad. All the facilities are clean and of f perfect quality.
The only point of improvement would be that we prefer an in-person-welcome above calling a telephone number in order to get the doorcode.

Lots of nice antiques, good breakfast, friendly owner.
The beds were a bit noisy (old wood frames) and too firm. No lift to 2 floor room.

It’s a small charming hotel. Really nice.

Beautiful place, great breakfast for reasonable price
Double bed "french style" - very small, particularly for older people with a certain volume

The isolation of the door was poor. We could hear the noise outside very well.

Very nice antique decoration

The hotel is very beautiful, vintage with style, located in stunnig surroundings. It is clean and comfy. The breakfast was very nice and the restaurant has a very special atmosphere. The host was very welcoming and we had the most interesting conversations with him.
Everything was great, the only thing that bothered us a little is the fact that the door is not very isolated, I think, and the noise coming from the hallway was a little too loud. But if you are not an extremely light sleeper that shouldn’t be a problem. :)

We were in town for a wedding and jut stayed for one night. The room had everything we needed and the host was really nice. Comfortable beds, clean room/shower. I recommend staying at Hotel Victoria :)

Nice, traditional hotel. The location was good ; far enough from the motorway that it was very quiet.
I don't recall negative points.

It should be made clear, booking this hotel was a mistake. I thought it looked quirky and a bit old fashioned but the truth is that it is a very basic place to stay. The prices should have alerted us to this but somehow didn't. So our mistake. The breakfast was just about OK, but nothing else was. We left after one night (due to stay 3) and did not have a meal other than breakfast.
First of all, this hotel does not have any staff present for most of the day. There is a notice in German (we don't speak German) requesting new guests to phone one of several numbers. It would have helped to have had a text to say that our key was in a key house outside the door and have been given the code. The reception room has a strange jumble of furniture. Our room (8) on second floor was unspeakably hot (30F outside) with no fan provided. Curtains, such as they were, are completely inadequate, keeping out little light. Bed is basic but reasonably comfortable, pillows soft, squashy and lumpy, no support whatsoever. Shower works as does toilet but basin almost too small to use. Very little space for anything. Everything was clean.

Old-fashioned but very cozy furnishings. Fair price. Right on the Rheinsteig.
Walls were thin: Even with the additional door closed, other guests were very audible. Empty shampoo dispensers in the shower: It's fine not to provide free shampoo (many places don't), but why even have empty dispensers there?

The staff was friendly and accommodating. Breakfast was good, though special diets (gluten free, lactose free etc) weren't catered for much. The rooms were comfy and spacious.
Tea/coffee from the minibar should be for free. The shower area was not well lit. The bed was too soft.

Nice hotel with beautiful old furniture directly on the Rheinsteig. Very nice owner who is also the cook and tales care of everything.

ambiece. Small B&B with a terrific owner who speaks very good English. it is prrfect for someone hiking the Rheinsteig. Thereis no tv nor wifi connectivity in the room but go downtairs to the lobby to hangout. Great museum like furniture, wifi, tv and a self serve supply if beer, wine and snacks. And if you are lucky Vlad will not be too busy to tslk with you. Great job, Vlad.
Had to phone to get in. Most places use a key box now. And it is diffulicult for non EU cluents to make a call

The room was modest but was decorated with antique furniture, which really gave it a nice touch, especially for those of us used to staying in corporate chain hotels. Also the owner was incredibly flexible and pleasant.
We had reserved a deluxe room but somehow did not end up in one. The room was definitely not deluxe.

I liked the location, the size of this small spa town and peace and quiet. Service was excellent. The hotel was charming and welcoming, beautifully furnished with antiques. We had some very interesting chats with Waldemar who advised us on the selection of wine with our dinner (Rhein one of course), could speak fluently any language one could think of ....and saved our adventurous dog from falling from the roof (it is a pet-friendly hotel but our dog exceeded expectations)
I liked everything

Hotel was very nice, classic style. Owner was very helpful. Easily accesible location. Very nice view from rooms.
Breakfast was not upto expectation for 9.50 Euro per person. It was not a real buffet breakfast generally offered in a hotel.

Historic building filled with antiquities of a time bygone. Terrific host family at your service. One parts as friend.

* Perfect location if walking the Rheinsteig
* Quiet location
* Good continental breakfast
* No information in room about hotel services - eg what time breakfast was. Most guests arrived at around 8am to have to wait as they were not yet set up for it. No problem if you were not in a hurry.
* Bedside light not strong enough to read by
