Supper was good. The owner and staff were all friendly. We had an early start so did not have breakfast.
It was a place of interest. It would be great to know about why the pub was called what it was.

Staff were friendly and obliging. Bar and dining area was warm, cosy and welcoming in the winter conditions.

The location was excellent and the food could not be faulted. Excellent menu.
Old fashioned mis match furniture. No heating as boiler was broken although after complaining a couple of times we were given a blow fa heater.

The breakfast was exceptional hot and tasty. Very friendly staff.
The accommodation allows dogs in the bar which makes it smell musky not nice when eating food

Room service not available unless we asked fir things. Room was OK but could do with an upgrade even though its an old building I'm sure things can be improved for comfort of guests. Food was OK just portion too large.

The breakfast, a full English, with ingredients sourced locally, prepared and served by the amiable Karen, was excellent, with as much toast and tea as you could eat and drink. Nice quiet location just off the Main Street. It's an old style, unpretentious and authentic country pub with 400 years of history and five comfortable rooms.

Location. The room was quite nice.
The en suite bathroom let our stay down. It was incredibly narrow, the shower water was intermittently hot and cold, and there was mould on parts of the ceiling.

Fabulous old pub in amazing location
My twin room was extremely basic, small and needed money investment!
Expensive and expected to pay for breakfast on top!

B &B cost £153. For that I would expect 5 star. It was not. We picked a night with live music, which we did not expect. It was 1.30 before all the noise abated.

Cosy pub very comfortable. Lively at the weekend with live music. Great location walking distance to the high steet. Staff were friendly and helpful.
The meal wasn't fantastic, it was OK, not awful. The towels weren't very white and felt like they had been boiled.
Parking is a distance away, which I you're able is fine, but my mum can't walk far.

Lovely cosy pub with log fire, very friendly & helpful staff. Food was fabulous and the accommodation outstanding.
Can't find any fault during pur stay.
