Just returned from a weeklong stay at Castleview House! Sally greeted us warmly and had the house stocked with essentials needed to get us started so we could rest up from our day long journey from the US. The house was absolutely GORGEOUS with beautiful scenery out every window. We are a huge hiking family so really enjoyed the fact that the Cliffs of Moher Walking Trail was right outside the gate. We walked it each day, sometimes 2-3 times a day. This property is close to local pubs, shops, grocery stores, and only a quick 1.5 hour drive to Galway. Highly recommend this beautiful property for a vacation of a lifetime! Thank you for everything, Sally!

This was our first time having Christmas away from either home or at family's, and it was fabulous. Sally was at the house to greet us and good not have been more helpful in managing our booking and stay.
The house surpassed expectations and the surrounding area was breathtaking despite the December weather. We loved the walks, pubs and local hospitality.
We highly recommend it for anyone thinking of doing the same.

Beautiful home in a beautiful location! We loved our stay, and Castle House was perfect!

Our stay at the Castle View House was nothing short of amazing. The property location is as good as you can get, with incredible views of the Cliffs of Moher as well as the surrounding farmland and castle. We were a short walk away from town, and enjoyed all of the pub and restaurant recommendations that Sally provided. Sally was as accommodating a host as we could have hoped for. Traveling with our 4 year old and ~2 year old, finding a place to accommodate us is not always easy. Sally provided a high chair, crib, and toys for our girls, and the kids loved every minute of their stay. Having a jug of milk and some fresh eggs also helped us transition from our time in Dublin to our time in the countryside, as we didn't have to worry about groceries the first day we arrived. I cannot express enough gratitude to Sally and her family as we enjoyed one of the best vacations we've had as a family, in part because of the comfort and hospitality of our hosts in Doolin. A true 10/10 stay that we hope to have the opportunity to take again. Thank you so much, Sally!

The house is a wonderful retreat in the Irish countryside. It’s the perfect traditional farm house. It worked out very well for our young family. The bedrooms are laid out perfectly to have kids on one side and the adults or grandparents on the other side of the upstairs. The house is conveniently located about a 5–10 minute walk from a few restaurants, a coffee shop and nice gift store, the sweater shops, etc. Sally and her family were absolutely amazing in helping us navigate some turbulent and unexpected medical needs while in Doolin. We couldn’t have done it without them. Doolin is more remote than I anticipated but the cutest little village in a gorgeous spot. The kids loved seeing the cows outside the kitchen windows at breakfast! Sally’s homemade bread and jam is delicious! We hope to come back soon! We consider them our new Irish family! We miss them already.

Perfect piece of Doolin life you won’t want to miss. Great location, hospitality and space. We had our two kids with us so the cows were perfect for their entertainment, especially when they peek at the window to see what is going on! The cliff walk was ideally located and we loved walking there in tbe mornings. Host Sally is great!

If you have the opportunity to stay here and you don't... you have made the biggest mistake ever! This place is pure perfection. Owner Sally was so kind and responsive. She has added every little touch to make this place shine - from the homemade bread and other goodies she leaves for you upon arrival to the universal chargers to flashlights and on and on. The house is beautiful and modern but also has traditional charm mixed in. None of us wanted to leave when our stay was up. You'll wake up and look at cows grazing by your window and a castle in the distance. It really is a once-in-a-lifetime stay in Doolin. Thank you so much, Sally, for the best stay. We will absolutely be back someday!

Beautiful property. Location was great for visiting all the major sights in Co Clare. House was perfect in every way. So much space and really well decorated and appointed. Everything was provided down to some grocery basics on our arrival.

Our stay was lovely, and our accommodations were wonderful. This home is truly a magical place to unwind. And so much to explore and visit nearby. We chartered a private boat trip of the Cliffs and Moher and a visit to Inisheer, one of our favorite experiences while in Doolin.
I cannot say enough good things about our host family. Sally was welcoming and quite helpful with many items and information.
We could have stayed many more days.

My husband, 3 children and I had a wonderful stay at Castle View. Sally is a lovely host and very accommodating. The property is exactly as pictured and described and overall Doolin exceeded our expectations. Castle View provided us with the unique element of being partially immersed in the Irish culture.

The Castleview is an amazing house. The owner provides most everything you could need including groceries to get you started. The owner was very kind and responds quickly to any messages. Pictures do not do this property justice. The views from every window are amazing, including the cows that say hello through the kitchen window. We would definitely stay at The Castleview again!

Castleview House was the perfect place and location for a portion of our family trip to Ireland, and Sally was a warm and welcoming host who thought of every detail! The home is incredible. Spacious, welcoming, views from every window, a wonderful fully equipped kitchen, and great place to gather - as well as home base for exploring all that Doolin and area has to offer. The walk to the cliffs was literally right out the door, and town an easy and fun walk - especially since we were so lucky with warm, sunny weather. Thank you Sally for helping make our trip truly a dream come true.

We walked by the house a number of times as we took the hike from Doolin to the Cliffs and back, always thinking how nice it would be to be staying there to end our walk. So, we booked.
It did not disappoint.
The owner is lovely, the check-in/out a breeze and the home has everything and more than you will need for a lovely stay.
Kitchen is well provided (we cooked) rooms are inviting and the beds very comfortable. Plus, you can walk into town! Take the ferry to an Aran Island. Don't just go to O'Connor's Pub, take the stroll down to McDermott's and McGann's. Good music down there, too!
Stay here! You will be glad you made the choice!

Seven senior women who enjoy staying in properties where we can interact with the locals enjoyed four days of having breakfast and evenings together at the house in the beautifully equipped kitchen and comfortable living room. Days were spent hiking the Cliffs of Moher, day trip to Dingle Peninsula, ferry to Aran Islands, and excursion to County Wicklow as we traveled toward our next destination. We walked to dinner at two pubs and Anthony’s Restaurant at Doolin Inn. Enjoyed live music at two of the locations; Anthony’s service was particularly attentive and engaging. Food there was good and reasonably priced. Sally was a great communicator and delightful host. The house was as described and we had no complaints. The views were incredible and the setting engaged us coming and going each day and as we looked out our big windows. Peaceful and serene is how I’d describe this rental.

Absolutely, stunning! We were in Doolin for my daughters wedding on the Cliffs, Castleview was a perfect location. Sally and her family were awesome host. The house was beautifully maintained and had stunning views. We actually had our first wedding photos taken there. I would highly recommend Sally and Castleview to anyone who is looking for a great vacation. Thank You Sally!!!

We are five middle aged sisters traveling together for the first time, just us girls. We treated ourselves to this beautiful home close to Doolin, where our ancestors were from; they probably walked past this house many times. Anyway, the house was roomy, beautifully updated, yet full of antique charm. An elegant place to come home to, yet just up the hill from our new favorite places: McGanns and McDermotts pubs. Great food, music and service. Also, there are the loveliest cows just outside the window. The views are spectacular, right along the cliff walk, which we also enjoyed. Sally was wonderful to work with, very helpful, kind, and prompt to reply to our questions. She even stocked the fridge for us which was so helpful and welcoming. We all really enjoyed staying at her beautiful, one of a kind home.

This was our 3rd time in Ireland but our first time staying at this home. We booked a different house a few years ago prior to covid but had to cancel for obvious reasons. I’m glad we looked at new properties when booking this trip because we found this home and were blown away.
If you are looking to stay in Western Ireland, you should consider this property. We were greeted by Sally on arrival and she was amazing to accommodate our traveling schedule. The house has been so thoughtfully renovated there isn’t one thing they haven’t thought of. The panty cupboard was perfect simply because we were coming from the states and we didn’t have to find a store right away for the things we might need or want.
From a long day of sight seeing, we were so happy to be greeted with all the comforts of home. Then we would end it with a walk to the cliffs. If we do come back, we will absolutely be staying here! Thank you so much for your hospitality Sally and Family. I cannot leave a review long enough to explain what an amazing property this is.
Next time we need the farm tour!

The home is beautiful, clean, and situated in the perfect location. On one side of the home you can see the Atlantic waves crashing against the rock and on the other side you have rolling hills and a view of the Doonagore Castle. It is spacious, updated, and the hosts were very friendly. They even greeted us with food and snacks already in the pantry. It was a very relaxing getaway and wish we could have stayed longer!

Castleview House is the perfect base for a visit to Doolin. Every room in this very updated historic farmhouse was picture perfect and very bedroom was comfortable and cozy. The kitchen was especially amazing, having an impressive oven and cookware, not to mention a well stocked pantry with every small item we forgot at the grocery. I could go on for days about the house alone but you rent this place for it’s location. I woke up every morning and looked out my window to see Doonagore Castle and the Cliffs of Moher. You can’t really get closer to the northern cliff walk entrance and I walked five minutes from the house’s driveway each morning to stand on top of the cliffs. Add the amazing service and hospitality provided by Sally and Cyril, and we had the best VRBO experience we’ve ever had. I can’t recommend staying at Castleview House more and I am 100% certain that we will be back again soon.

7 of us stayed at this property for 4 days in September. The location was absolutely beautiful as was proximity to things to do in the area. Sally was a wonderful hostess that provided the necessities and the property itself had everything we needed. Thank you!
(And I have to say, the calves were an added bonus!)

Family reunion in Doolin.
We were fortunate enough to be able to gather our extender family at the breathtaking west Irish coastline in Doolin. The Castle View House was the stage for memories that will last a lifetime. Sally Nagle is a wonderful and considerate host that made our stay in her home an adventure we shall remember and talk about for years to come. We can’t wait to return. Thank you again Sally for everything !

Wind down and relax
A beautiful home in a fantastic location to wind down and relax and loose all the stresses of life. Just a step away from the restaurants, traditional live music and great fun pitch and putt course all of which we enjoyed several times during the week. A great location for exploring the cliffs and Burren with a beautiful beach at Fanore for swimming and nesting sandmartins. Thank you for the best holiday. What a place to live!

Beautiful home with stunning views
The Castle View House has it all. It has the charm and history of an old country farmhouse but with all modern amenities. It was amazing waking up every morning to a view of the cliffs and ocean. We cooked big Irish breakfasts in the huge kitchen to kick off each day followed by a walk along the Cliffs of Moher walking trail which literally begins at the end of the property's driveway. The home was immaculate and very comfortable. All hardwoods and tile. There is a lot to see within driving distance from Doolin. We took day trips to Galway, the Aran Islands, Cliffs of Moher and explored nearby towns. There is also a fun pitch and putt golf course in town with gorgeous views of the cliffs and ocean. Can't forget the pubs and traditional Irish music every night. Many are within walking distance. The owners are very pleasant and responsive. The Castle View House made this our favorite vacation off all time. It felt like home and we miss it already.

We spent four nights with 3 kids ranging 5-11. Everyone had a blast. The house was clean and updated with all the modern amenities while keeping the feel of an historical farm house. Being able to walk to the pubs, pitch and putt, the ferry and ice cream shop were a plus. We would highly recommend the castle house.

Absolutely unique, simply Beautiful!
One of the most beautiful cottages we were stay in.
The house is such beautiful and you immediately feel at home. The nice hostess Sally, who gave us a warm welcome, even with food provided, so that our arrival was wonderful. The location, breathtaking views, on the doorstep begins the "The Cliffs of Moher Coastal Walk", one of the most beautiful coastal paths. The village of Doolin with its colourful houses, pub, restaurants, shops is also within walking distance of the cottage. We really fell in love and will definitely come back to enjoy holidays here again. Thank you very much for all Sally! Kind regards from Switzerland - Sandra & Family

Gorgeous Stay
We had a wonderful stay at Castle View House. The house was clean, and very comfortably decorated with many touches indicating the history of the house and the Nagle family throughout. We were a party of four couples, and were all comfortable in the four bedrooms. Sally left a homemade loaf of Irish brown bread and some lovely wine which we all enjoyed throughout the stay. The Cliffs of Moher are within walking and driving distance, and we spent several happy evenings at the pubs just down the lane from the house, all of which had live music. All in all a perfect sojourn in the Doolin/Lahinch area!

Friends weekend
I can not recommend this house more. The location is idyllic, right at the start of the cliff trail and has absolutely everything you could possibly need for your stay, even down to hi-vis jackets for the dark walks home and beach towels for a sea swim. Sally added a gorgeous homely touch of freshly baked brown bread for our arrival. Already planning our next trip.

Outstanding Home-Away-From-Home
Our family traveled to Ireland for a wedding and our stay in Doolin, County Clare at the Castle View House indeed became our Home-Away-From-Home. This elegant and incredibly appointed home on the cliffs of Doolin simply took our breath away. The view out of each and every widow will not soon be forgotten. Spotless and completely renovated, we wanted for nothing and longed to not be leaving upon our departure. Sally and her family were the perfect hosts and we will always remember our stay at Castle View as one of the best family vacations we have ever had.

Wonderful!!
We had a lovely stay. The house had been recently redone and is an easy walk to town. We were even provided with reflective vests for safety along dark roads. Sally was great to work with. My traveling companions raved at how lucky we were to find this house. I would highly recommend!
