Very happy with everything.

This place was amazing for our group of 8 plus an infant. Great access to the beach, but it is a typical beach house. Don't expect too much privacy because the walls are thin but we had a blast. So much seating between the inside and the screen porch. A little bit of peeling paint on floor so keep an eye on littles. Overall super pleased and would rent again.

Location was perfect and really couldn’t ask for a better week. Property managers were very responsive with any questions. Would book again.

If you want steps from the beach (and a view) this is your place. It’s rustic. Amenities are okay. Not fancy. But fantastic location.

The location if the cottage was awesome being so close to the beach was a joy and the views were spectacular especially the full moon on the water. The condition of the cottage was good but you could tell it was the end of the season and had been lived in. The dog run was perfect. All in all loved it and hope to be back next year.

I vacationed at the cottage across the street 40 years ago as a kid with my family. That cottage is now permanently occupied, so I was THRILLED beyond belief when I found this rental just across the street. The nice thing about this rental is that it is one house length away from the beach. Literally is a five second walk to the sand. So very convenient to walk back to the cottage to eat, bathroom, whatever. The cottage has not been updated all these years, which is exactly what I was hoping for. I was in tears as I walked in to the same old familiar smell of the cottage I remembered back in the day. The colors on the walls are similar, and the old rustic feel. There are four bedrooms upstairs. Two of the rooms had two twin beds, and two of the rooms had one bed (size just a tad smaller than a Queen). Rooms were nice sizes! Loved the towels provided for the beach & shower - the shower towels were super absorbant! Speaking of shower - I took mine every morning in the outdoor shower. LOVED THAT! Good water pressure, and showering to the sounds of nature - well, there's nothing like it. The kitchen is small, but adequate to cook in, pots, pans and plates were sufficient...there is a fullsized fridge/freezer. The diningroom and family room are large and a nice screened in wrap around porch to view the ocean is just perfect. The place was immaculately clean, no bugs, there was a flat screen TV and WiFi. The good humor truck comes at nice (Daisy was the original good humor lady from 40 years ago - she hugged me and remembered me from way back then!!!) The streets are quiet, perfect for the kids to ride bikes, and we went for nightly walks - no traffic at all. The place hadn't changed from when I was little. In fact many of my old friends from 40 years ago were still there - as if they've preserved it all these years - all I had to do was return. Perfect family vacation spot. One point - what used to be a sandy beach to the left of the white wall is now gone, and high tide is all water, low tide is black muck (instead of sand bars). To the right of the white wall is a sandy beach and kids were in the water playing and swimming, although it's a tad rocky. The old rock jetty is still there, as is the wooden jetty to crab off of. Because of this, the beach is pretty quiet - not the best one to walk on sandbars or swim in. To me this is a plus, because we had the beach to ourselves! I don't swim in the ocean anyways...

I knew the bathroom was upstairs but proved more difficult than I thought it would be. Windows are really really old. Kitchen not really fully stocked. No hair dryer as stated in description but property manager apologized. Did not receive a notice from VRBO about how to get in. Again had to contact property manager. It is 30 steps to ocean but view is quite blocked by overgrowth from structure in front. Neighborhood is lovely and people super nice.

Great location and proximity to the beach!! Lots of areas for eating, screened porch, backyard or dining room. Kitchen has everything you need- pots/pans, toaster, Keurig. Used the outdoor grill several times. Loved the provided linens for shower and beach. Outdoor shower is amazing!!! Great advantage if you are traveling with kids. Hideaway room can get a little hot but we had to be diligent about fans and blowing hot air out. The neighbors are friendly- everyone we met on a walk or on the beach was super nice. Great communication with property manager. You are also in close proximity to main road and local grocery stores. The famous Bills seafood and the waters edge are just a short drive. Overall- this is a fabulous rental. Had a great experience with my family and would definitely rent again!

This cottage is in a fantastic location practically directly on the beach. It is a shame that the house and property have not been kept up. The photos of this property were clearly taken at least a decade ago and it has since declined in appearance. There is tons of peeling paint and loose floor tiles. A handful of nails on the porch railing when we arrived. When we had a rain storm water was coming in everywhere. The property was not safe for children. The twin bed in one of the children’s bedrooms is positioned up against a 2nd floor window with a screen that will pop right out. The windows in general terrified me all week because I was afraid they would fall on the kids hands. I was even worried about operating them myself. The “hideaway” bedroom reached 100 degrees on our 1st night there. It is an attic over a garage that traps all the heat. The air quality in the house is extremely poor. It has mold in the walls or something and the blue master bedroom is Smokey. We all woke up wheezing and with upper respiratory issues and coughing by the end of the week. Especially my poor 2 year old. And lastly the furniture in the house is SO UNCOMFORTABLE! It’s outdoor wicker furniture without proper cushions. You can’t sit on it more than 10 min. We had a rainy day and we were literally sitting on the floor it was so uncomfortable. It’s the kind of place that you are counting down the days until you can LEAVE! Which is sad because this was our family vacation for the year. We paid top dollar and ended up in a total dump. We have been renting cottages in RI and CT for many years and I enjoyed them all except this place. It was more stressful than a vacation because we were problem solving house issues all week. As far as positives: plenty of hot water, very cute walkable neighborhood and friendly neighbors.

What a great place! Quiet neighborhood, clean house, room enough to eat, sleep, play games or just sit on the porch watching the water. It really is only steps to a clean, quiet, private beach. The kids loved the outdoor shower, and there was a grassy area for the dogs. We hated to leave!

Beautiful house. Right next to the ocean. Did not want to leave. The beds were super comfortable. So many restaurants and things to do right down the street. I would definitely recommend and stay again.

My family and I had a wonderful time at Chapman Beach! The cottage was exactly what I expected, rustic and breezy with an adorable beachy theme. The amenities made packing for our trip so easy. The rental includes linens, towels, beach chairs and toys for the kids!! The neighborhood was absolutely beautiful, as well. Every evening we enjoyed a stroll with our dog counting the wild rabbits along the way and a trip to DQ for our favorite ice cream.

Great time! Great location! Great place! We’ll be back!

A week of family time without the crowds and a walk to the beach with nothing between us but the sand. I would do it all over again.

We really enjoyed our stay at this cute beach cottage. It's conveniently located just off Route 1, and is just a few steps from a private quiet beach. Especially loved the screened porch that was cool and comfortable with a view of the water. The house has all amenites (including linens, towels and beach towels) needed for a comfortable stay at the beach, and the owner is very responsive to any questions or concerns. Great experience, would definitely stay there again!

We loved the proximity to the beach and the porch was awesome. The furniture in living room was so uncomfortable. The TV had the most basic channels (everyone has a laptop or device but couldn’t watch much as a family). Need better cooling options because upstairs was steamy. Bathroom was great. Beds super comfortable. Outdoor shower awesome. Loved that linens and towels were provided. A real coffee maker would have been nice. The lock on the door was a pain and took several tries every time we came and went. Having said all of that we had a great week also loved the neighborhood. Thank you

I was very pleased to find a relaxing charming cottage tucked away amongst easy going and friendly local residents. The ambiance at The Cottage was brightly decorated with plenty of relaxing space. Shaded by trees in the yard, and cooking on the new gas grill, eating at the picnic table or on the screened porches, I and my family were smitten. To wake in the morning with the ocean and beach view, was enjoyed from the cozy screened in porch with our coffee. If I had to choose Id have to say that was one of my highlights of the day. But then again the quiet evenings with cooling breezes off the ocean waters were just as perfect. Just a stones throw away, was a private, and very nice beach. But for those younger adults of my family who wished for more there were two other beaches close by they could choose from with larger crowds. Sue and her warm hospitality went beyond expectations with the little things given for her guests luxury and comfort. And sometimes it is the little things done that mean so much! Clean towels for each guest awaiting them in the bedrooms, complimentary first morning arrival coffee, as well as a lovely bottle of wine. The only bad thing I could say about the cottage is that I had to leave! Thank you your happy renter, Linda
