Had an amazing visit with the family. We spent a long weekend with 3 kids under 10, and they loved the board games, toys, and bonfire pit. We are looking forward to visiting again in the summer when it’s warm enough to go in the lake. The place was clean, organized, comfortable beds, and just well done!

The cabin was very well stocked with supplies, towels, and cookware. Excellent view of the lake and property. Plenty of games for entertainment and things to do.

Wonderful place for families! The kids enjoyed swimming/fishing off the dock, s’mores by the campfire and watching the raccoons scavenge around after dark. The home was clean and had everything we needed to prepare meals. The only recommendation would be to replace the frying pans, they were worn and hard to cook in. Overall wonderful place!

Loved the location and overall condition and beauty of home. We had a great time and would come back again. Lots of wildlife--deer, turkey, birds. It IS a hike down to lake with our heavier kayaks we brought but you could tie them off and leave them there. The place and area is very safe. Also, another advantage with the many steps is that they are only 4 inches apart which makes the descent much easier on the knees. Great place to swim. The floor to ceiling glass front room affords guests incredible views. The lady who oversees and cleans the house for owners was very helpful and responsive. Would easily return to this same place. LOVE the lake too. A jewel that is not well known without a lot of boat traffic.

When i picked this place i was happy with the description and pucs given but they truly do not do it justice. It was much better than expected and we were vert satisfied. Thank you for the very nice stay!

We absolutely enjoyed our first visit to ky and the stay made it even more better. The property is located very close to nolin state park and the kids enjoyed the trails and the beach in the park. The property is well stocked and has a beautiful sun room overlooking the lake. I felt i could stay there everyday.. it was clean and well maintained..

Wonderful, secluded spot at the back of a bay. No a lot of boat traffic so you can take advantage of swimming and paddle boarding with ease of mine. The house is perfect for what we needed and has a great view of the water from the main dining area and auxiliary sofa. I did catch fish with the equipment provided but a serious angler would want something waaayyy beyond what they offer. The house is probably more picturesque than the photos provided and the fire pit is the cherry on the shake for me. I would definitely come back here for a longer stay. Just fyi, this is a place where you make your own fun. It’s a bit of a hike to anywhere so embrace the solitude and travel with people you like for more than small doses.

We loved the layout of the house! So much living space for the 5 of us. Cozy couches, comfy beds, and amazing views from multiple areas. The property was peaceful and private. Our only regret is that we couldn’t stay longer!

Great cabin for a family to relax. My 4 kids loved the bunk room. Sun room overlooking the lake was wonderful for coffee and knitting. Everyone caught a fish off the dock. Family Dance Dance Revolution battle was exhausting, but fun. Fully stocked kitchen and grill utensils. Loved the provided wood for nightly camp fires. 40 minutes to Mammoth Cave. We loved it!

This home is a great place to stay if you are heading to Nolin State Park or Mammoth Cave. We did not want to leave that super comfy porch!

We came to visit mammoth caves. Although the property is about 45 min away, it met our needs wonderfully. Very clean, everything we needed. Kids loved the bunk beds and the sun room overlooking the lake was AMAZING! Loved sitting there drinking coffee. Although we could not utilize the deck/water, kids enjoyed playing on the rocks. Lots of stairs down to the water - so beware if you have trouble with steps. Really a perfect spot. Thanks so much for sharing!

We went horse back ridding with family. We had a big group and we had plenty of room in the house.

This was a comfortable lake house on a large, quiet and beautiful lot overlooking the lake. Much had been done to modernize this older property but there were still some remnants of the original construction such as no outlets in the bathroom. But this wasn't a big deal for our group and we enjoyed the space and comfortable accommodations. It's hard to find properties with multiple beds in this area so the 6 beds were welcome. Communication with owner was excellent and kitchen had the essentials we needed but we didn't do a lot of cooking. Loved the quiet and the firepit. Just beware that if you are planning on visiting Mammoth Cave on this trip, check the ferry availability. It was inoperable due to low water during out visit which meant a 40 minute drive rather than 15-20 minutes. But all in all, a very enjoyable stay.

We’ve stayed at a lot of VRBO and Air B&B properties and this was probably one of the nicest ones we had the pleasure of staying at. Everything was exactly as listed and the pictures didn’t do it justice. We reached out to ask about towels and the owner responded immediately and made sure we had everything we needed. Great experience!

We had a beautiful off the grid stay! Waterfront views from inside. Lots of quiet space and lovely fire pit area. Perfect place for relaxing with the family with no distractions. The state park hiking trails are less than 5 minutes away. Beautiful fall colors!

Our family was looking to venture to Mammoth Cave National Park for a few days. This is a nice location (about 25 minutes away from the national park). We loved the dock and campfire. The house was cozy and comfortable. We were without internet for 2 days, but the owner called the service provider and they fixed it for our remainder of the stay. FYI - Cell service was very limited. Nice place for a family get-away.

The property was nice, plenty of seating. Nice firepit. Stairs to dock are a little dangerous. We had no TV connection and no phone service. First off the remote was broken. When staff finally brought a new remote 2 days into our stay, it still did not work. The provider for WiFi /cable service came out but could not get the TV or phones working! We could not even call out on the landline.

Very nice house overlooking lake in nice quiet cove. Very nice to have private dock with ramp only a few minutes away. An added bonus to have paddle boards, life jackets, fishing poles. Loved the large deck shaded by the trees!

This was a great house for our week-long stay to tour Mammoth Cave National Park. We were two couples (all late 50s; my wife and I, and SIL & her boyfriend). We selected this property for the location and outdoor space with the bonus of being located right on Nolin Lake.
Overall, the house worked very well for us, but I can’t rate it at 5-stars. There were pros and cons, but I think the pluses outweigh the minuses. The negatives that we found were:
> The bathrooms were small. The bath right by the front door was tiny.
> The lighting was poor throughout the house, particularly in the bedrooms. And there was a lack of electrical outlets.
> The wifi was horrible. We knew going in that the cell phone reception would be bad, but thought that we would be able to use the house wifi. It was spotty at best.
> While the house was very clean, the pots and pans in the kitchen were not in the best shape. This was the fault of previous renters, but we still had to deal with it.
> The kayaks listed as available for use were kid-sized. SIL and her BF ended up renting kayaks at the state park.
On the plus side were the outdoor spaces, which is why we rented this house. Excellent porch with both a covered and uncovered section and plenty of comfortable places to sit. The closed-in back porch was great as well. We ate every meal in one of these spaces which was great. Plenty of birds and squirrels in the trees around the house that were fun to watch. The lake access was nice as well. I went down to the lake each morning and evening. Lots of birds in the area, and the night sky from the lake shore was beautiful.
Great base for exploring the area. About 2 miles from the house to the trailhead in Nolin Lake State Park. The drivetime to the Mammoth Cave visitor center was 45 minutes taking the longer route around the west side of the park through Brownsville, but only 25 minutes cutting through the heart of the park and using the Green River Ferry. The ferry really saved us a lot of driving time!
Once we got the pots, pans and blender cleaned, the kitchen was great. We cooked dinner at the house each night and there was plenty of room for the cooks to work and the rest of us to hang out around the island.
Another plus was the solitude as the house is located on a dead-end road. That was a plus as well since we were looking for a little tranquility.
Overall, it was a nice house and it worked well for us.

Loved staying here with our family. We had tons of fun. Be advised that there are A LOT of stairs to get down to the lake and back up, but it's definitely worth it if you are able. Stars were gorgeous at night, and the house is cozy. We spent a lot of time in the all glass front room just sitting or playing games. The only improvement I would suggest is that a hole in the dock and one of the stair railings needs to be repaired. We would absolutely recommend this property.

We loved this property! We are frequent travelers and this place was awesome! Very accurate listing, well stocked, tons of perks and we would return. Nice private dock, lots of toys for usage. Easy access to boat ramp and beautiful property and neighborhood. Our family thoroughly enjoyed!

Vacation for a family of 4
This vacation lake home looked exactly as shown in the photos and as described. It was a perfect location to enjoy Nolin Lake, Mammoth Cave National park, as well as other nearby towns. The property was the perfect fit for our family to unwind.

Beautiful home
Great time at this lake house. It is a very clean house with a very warm lake with its own private dock. There are many steps to get down to the lake. The check in process is very easy. The location is about a half hour to any stores so stop before you get there to stock up. The owner was very helpful letting us know where the local Walmart was so we ordered groceries online and just picked them up on the way to the house. We went to mammoth caves which was great. At night there is a fire pit and lots of wood so we enjoyed that too. There is a charcoal grill and plenty of space to eat indoors or out. Very relaxing trip!

We absolutely love this house. It has everything you need at the house you feel like there's no reason to go anywhere else. Mammoth Cave and other attractions are close by if you need a little more Adventure. We came to the house for our 11th anniversary and know our boys would love it. We will definitely be visiting again with the whole family

We had such a nice stay on Nolin Lake. The house is set up ideally for lake life. We used the sun porch/dining room multiple times a day, and the huge sectional couch in the living room was so comfy. The kids loved the bunkroom - they both got a top bunk! The kitchen is really nice, with most utensils and cookware that you could think of. The wraparound porch all the way around the house was fun, and we sat outside quite a bit. We grilled several times, but it was unusually warm (85 degrees in April) and we were worn out every day from hiking, so we didn't get a chance to use the fire pit or fireplace.
The stargazing was great, with no light pollution. The yard is heavily sloped down to lake, and there are a lot of stairs, but the water is right there! We fished off the dock, and my son caught a good-sized large mouth bass. We saw a ton of wildlife just right there in the yard - deer, geese, bats, owls, butterflies, wasps, turkeys - we loved it. Having access to nature, but staying in a nice house is the perfect balance for me.
You're only 20 minutes from Mammoth Cave visitor center if you take the Green River Ferry route. The town of Cave City is about 30 minutes away (and the closest place to get beer!). You're also only a few minutes away from some great hiking and the beach at Nolin Lake State Park. Great location, and the green rolling hills are so beautiful.
We stayed at the house for three nights, and I wish we had more time. It was so relaxing, and just precious time with family. The host was very responsive, made sure we were taken care of, but was also unobtrusive, which is ideal. I'd love to stay here again sometime!

We loved staying here. The view from the house is priceless. The kids had fun playing on the treehouse, kayaking and riding the little cars. We made campfires, grilled, and played games in the evenings. We even saw a screech owl right by the fire pit! None of us wanted to leave. We had everything we needed. The house is very well stocked and maintained. The beds were comfortable and everything was clean. There was abundance of firewood. Would definitely come here again.
