The property was clean and comfortable, close to everything we needed. Big windows overlooked the Russian River right next to the house. Our dogs enjoyed their stay with us. We heartily recommend staying here.

The house was clean and cozy. We loved looking out at the vineyard on one side and the river on the other.
Everything was easy and stress free.

The place itself could have been very nice. It is a bit of a trek down the path to get to the water and not for those not physically fit but doable for us. We did not use the kayaks located under the house because we didn’t quite trust the pulley system to get them back up and there was tons of spider webs etc under there.
Speaking of spider webs, the house was quite literally FULL of them! Every corner ceiling and floor had them and the ceiling in the front porch type room was covered with them! We were inundated with ANTS! We let the manager know and they did come out to treat for them but they never went away and we had to fight them daily.
There is no air conditioning which I knew but it was quite warm the first few days and we tried to use the ceiling fans but they all click and are very noisy which gets on your nerves after a while. We tried to open the windows but there was no way to keep them open unless we propped them open with chairs. There is a heater in there but it is non functional and has not been repaired. They have provided wood burning stoves if you provide your own wood and some space heaters. Since it was summer we really didn’t need it too much. It became a bit cool in the evening but we just kept our sweaters on and bundled up with a blanket.
Just so you know they only provide one key. So we had to hide the key for each other. Floor was filthy and mold all over the shower curtain. For the price charged we really expected basic cleanliness. Etc

This place was great, especially for the price in this area. We were really happy as a family with older kids and grandma with us. I loved how there was not a list of check out chores and loved that the place was stocked with the basics.

Overall we really enjoyed our stay. Our only problem was the fact that there was another property connected to the house we were in and we heard them coming up the stairs at 4:25 in the morning and a door to our area was ajar when we got up in the morning. We found that a bit creepy. Some guy also came into the yard on Tuesday, he may have been entering the other property. We wish we would have known about this beforehand.

First of all, this is a darling cabin and property, with flowering trees and redwoods dotting the landscape. The property has direct access to the Russian river! We did not have time to take advantage of the water or the kayaks the host offered — however I count this as a definite plus.
When we arrived it was quite late. There are no streetlights and it took us some time to find the gate. The opening of the gate took some doing in the dark but we managed.
There were no lights on to show us obstacles on the cement walkway or stairs— we all had flashlights on our phones. The second day of our stay the lights were on and the motion detector light worked- just not for our arrival.
Getting in was straightforward and the light switches and things were intuitive.
Our host thoughtfully supplied wine glasses for our use and there was coffee, tea, and filters as well as some mugs and spices. We brought our own wood for the fireplace as it is quite cold at night. Thank you for the clear instructions there. Also the host provided kindling blocks which were helpful!
The window in the dining room overlooks the river and would be even more striking free from cobwebs. It was difficult to see out after dark but the view during the day is lovely.

My family and I stayed at the Last Resort and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The home is rustic but was great for families that have different sleep schedules. Bedrooms are tucked away from the dining area which made the early risers and late nighters, happy. Poker chips came in handy with our card playing family, but do not forget the cards as we did not find any. Kitchen was nice and central though we got most of our meals from take-out in town. Location was lovely, directly on the Russian River with a nice path. The outside area was great for an active pre-teen and our ball crazy dog. We loved watching the traffic on the road, did not hear it at all, though we had the windows closed as it was cold. Bring some wood for the wood stoves. We look forward to booking again in the summer.

We rented the Last Resort for 3 days…although it rained most of the weekend, we still had a great time. Even though it only had 1 bathroom, the cabin was cozy & perfect for close friends, family & dogs! A big plus was having our own private beach! However, the trail going down & up was very steep but so worth it once you got down there!
Couple of downsides…the beds were way too old & very soft ( not good for bad backs!) & the kitchen could have used more utensils-knives, forks, spoons & serving spoons, etc. We brought our own paper plates, paper towels & napkins which helped
with meal prep & clean up go smoother.
Overall, the cabin & property was very private & secluded and had a nice outdoor area to enjoy quality social time!

There's no A/C. The windows can't be propped open to let some cool air in at night. We were baking all night. I left after one night even though we paid for two.

One of the beds was uninhabitable due to termite damage and wood damage. Some of us were forced to sleep on the couch because of it. I will be following up with pictures and another formal request. I would like some of our rental costs to be refunded to us because of this. I look forward to your reply.

We thought we were booking through Vrbo but this property is managed by Vacasa which turned out to be problematic. The location is great and house was fine for our family of four; we loved the kayaks. However we had several issues come up during our stay. The beds are very old and uncomfortable and the kitchen has minimal counter space--not worthy of the high nightly rate. We had a serious plumbing issue mid-week that didn't get resolved until the morning of check out due to a lack of response from the property manager. Finally our dog and son were attacked by a swarm of yellow jackets on the property as they were putting away the kayak. We love Guerneville but won't be returning to The Last Resort or using Vacasa again.

Tucked away between a vineyard and the river, this house provided an ideal escape. With all the supplies you need to enjoy the river, there was more than enough to do when spending the day at the house.

Perfect and quaint home! Nice blend of antique and modern. Beds were very comfortable (although no ladder or side rail on the bunk beds made my son uncomfortable). The private beach was such a nice surprise! It is a decent sized beach about 3 mins down from the house, perfect place to launch a kayak or even swim around for the kiddos! On a hot day the house can get warm, so use the fans or cool off in the river! Every window overlooks the Russian River or the vineyard (which I believe is Korbel). We had a lovely time in Guerneville and look forward to coming back! The house felt safe, clean, and was so beautiful!

Relaxing is the first word that comes to mind when staying at The Last Resort. The quaintness of this home offers all the comforts of home and plenty of room to entertain. The easy access to the river is wonderful. The view was breathtaking as the trees offered privacy and the peeks of the road and river offered entertainment. Thank you for opening up your home and allowing us to make happy memories at The Last Resort.

My two friends and I found this charming home to be just as depicted on the website. Wood paneling and eclectic (in a good way) furnishings made it homey and very charming. Lots of chairs and seating options. All appliances and plumbed fixtures worked well. Very clean and tidy. On the river, and a short walk along the river to an "official" beach. Loved our stay, and would definitely stay here again.

Cabin on the river
Upside: Great little cabin on the river with access to the neighborhood beach. Rustic, but well furnished with most everything you’d need. Fenced and great for our dogs. Parking for two in fenced yard. Great view! Downside: bathtub/shower was really challenging to shower in (very easy to slip) and lockbox didn’t work, so had to make several calls and wait an hour or so before we could get in. Lots of traffic noise, as I didn’t realize how much the sound would carry from the highway.

The fire pit at the bottom of the stairs was awesome for a s'mores session with the kids. The way the house was nestled in the trees and having access to a washer n dryer was a plus. Goat rock beach and school house beach about 20 mins away, were great for adventure.

If your dream stay involves a rustic cabin along the river, there’s a lot to like about this place. I was actually surprised by the full river view from the back of the home. We were there in March and the trees didn’t have many leaves yet so perhaps the view is more obscured in the summer— but this is a riverfront, river VIEW home. Access to the little beach is accurately described. It’s right there, just a few steps down the path. The home could definitely use some updates. Working heat (not space heaters) would be nice. They could also use more usable flatware. The outdoor patio space is large but not well lit (except for security motion triggered lights) and the grill has seen better days. Only half would light until we stuck a match in the right side to ignore it manually. Use of kayaks sounded awesome... but alas, would’ve required way too much cleaning to make usable. Beds were not comfortable. Between rickety frames and old mattresses, it was hard to get comfortable. We also didn’t find much to love about the town of Guerneville itself... but again, we were there during the off season. All that said, we needed a getaway where life felt quieter and our kids could explore for a few days— and this place provided that. It would be unfair to be overly critical since one of our criteria was finding a budget-friendly rental. You always get what you pay for!!
