Overall we enjoyed our stay at this cottage. It is clearly a place that has been in the family for years and is filled with fun things to explore like old books (like old recipe books fro 50's, old kids books) & cool old toys. It is old, but overall felt pretty clean. There was a good amount of space, which I appreciated with 2 kids; a moderate main room w the dining table and then a separate family room with a couch, as well as a nice big screened in back porch. There's a master bedroom and very small bedroom on 1st floor, then 2 kind of separate areas in a loft area. So all the sound and light from the 1st floor is heard/seen from up there, which isn't the best for little kids. There are plenty of beds, and a Pack N play available. The kitchen is small, but adequate, as long as you're the only one cooking in there :) Plenty of silverware, cooking utensils, cutting boards and pans, etc. The bathroom is very small, but has a small bathtub, which is nice for kids. So, no fault of the owner, but the mosquitos were INSANE out of control, worst I've ever seen. You can see them swarming when you drive up. We literally had to grab the kids and run to the car, throw them in, drive out the driveway then stop to buckle them and we still all got bitten tons and had some in the car! Because of this, we obviously could not use the outdoor areas of the house, which was one of the reasons we chose this house, thinking it'd be great for the kids to run around and enjoy seeing the boats across the street. If you went at a non mosquito infested time they have a play set, pretty big yard and the marina across the driveway. The back of the house is a marsh area, we did get to see some birds through the windows. Though this definitely put a damper on our stay, the house was a short drive to many things in York., which was nice. We went to Harbor Beach, about a 5 minute drive, multiple times. IMO this is not really walkable. You can park on Rt 1 & walk down the hill to the beach. The Cliff Walk is beautiful and begins at this beach as well. The Wiggly Bridge is a 2 minute drive (we could've walked, but, mosquitos...). There is internet, but it can be slow and was a little hard to connect to, but once connected it was fine. There is no cable, only a Smart TV that you must sign into with your own accounts. The host always did respond to messages, but not always as quickly as I'd hoped/have experienced with other hosts. Had to ask for check in info.

A precious place, had everything a family needed and close to all the beaches between York and Kittery Point, and York Amusement parks, and all the historic sights in York, Kittery Point, Kittery and Portsmouth NH. Really looking forward to re-booking next summer!

We had a blast. Cottage was perfect for my family especially my grandsons, ages 5 & 3. Plenty of space for everyone to spread out. The cottage had everything we needed for cooking, etc. We hope to visit again soon.

We stayed at the cottage for the weekend. The grandkids ran around outside, there is a jungle gym, a tree house, and tetherball. The cottage is definitely retro/rustic, a place where you didn't have to worry about the kids touching things, plenty of toys to keep them busy. We had a fire and had a great time sitting around the fireplace. Everyone said they wanted to go back.

Great cottage. Brought back childhood memories of staying at a rustic cabin near the beach equipped with crafts, games, beach reading books and old national geographics! Great place for family with kids! We were here for a wedding didn't have time to enjoy cottage for what it's set up for. Only bad thing was no heat in cottage except for fireplace and a space heater in each room. Not enough to heat whole house had to have fireplace going -clothes smelled like campfire-not a great thing for wedding clothes! It was cold!! Nice property!
