The location is very good, just across the sea. The beach is beautiful, very long and spacious and most importantly for free. The sea is very pure and a true pleasure to swim in. We would like to thank Giuseppe for his hospitality and all the help he gave us during our stay in the apartment. He gave us a ride from Catania to the apartment and afterwards he took us to the airport, a service for which we paid. We are grateful because there was literally no other way to arrive at the apartment other than with a car, which we didn't have. He also took us to a supermarket to do some shopping, because there are no shops for groceries in the vicinity of the place, except for a very small and basic mini market. The apartment was relatively clean and quite basic, which we didn't mind at all. There are plenty of restaurants with great food right on the spot, so if you prefer to eat out, you will enjoy yourself. If you want to enjoy the beach and eat out, it could be a good place to stay, provided that the apartment is better maintained.

The apartment is very poorly maintained, especially the bathroom. There were problems with the appliances. The refrigerator was barely cooling so some of our food got spoiled. Afterwards we only used the freezer but we couldn't really store our food properly. Having some oil and vinegar, some essential things like that would have been very welcome in the kitchen. It is an attic apartment and there are two roof windows, one in the bedroom and one in the bathroom. There is no window in the living room, only the terrace door. There is one air conditioner in the living room that was supposed to cool the bedroom too, through some slits in the wall but it was not very efficient. Luckily, the air cooled down during the night so it was possible to sleep in the bedroom. Unless you come with a car, this location is a dead end. The nearest bus stop is almost 2km away. Sometimes you want to prepare your meal yourself, but this was close to impossible since there were no grocery shops or supermarkets nearby with a good choice of food and other supplies you might need during your stay. Unfortunately the cutlery, the pots and the pans in the kitchen were also very used-up so we didn't use them at all. There is a small mini market some 500m away that is very basic but ok.

This area is not a typical touristic area, only Italian people. This is good. Restaurant prices are middle level. Beach (small stones) is only 3 minutes from the appartement. Beach is wide, clean and not crowded at all. Host supported us by airport transfer (Catania). There was parking place for our rent a car. Fantastic view from the roof-balcony to the Etna. We got 2 keys. Host was very helpful in all matters.

We had an amazing stay at Giuseppe's place. Great localization, 1 min to the beautifull beach and bars, restaurants. View at Etna from the balcony and GREAT contact with the host! Very close to Etna, Alcantara and Taormina. I recommend this place for everyone! Atena
