This saltwater pool house is in an older neighborhood right off the island. Perhaps 25% of the homes have been renovated in this safe quiet area. It's a 5 minute drive to Downtown Venice and the Beaches. The house is clean and comfortable. The Queen mattress was a medium softness. The King mattress was firmer. There are lots of bed pillows, blankets and towels. Both bedrooms were big enough for a baby crib, a dog crate and more. The bedrooms are separated by the common areas of the house which offers some privacy. Due to the beautiful ceramic/stone tile in the whole house..... You can hear everything that is said in the house. The King bedroom has wall to wall carpeting but the rest of the house "echoes" sound. There are no room sized area rugs to soften the indoor sounds. So pack a couple throw rugs for your bedside and sink counters. The lovely Kitchen had a carafe type coffee pot and a Keric. It had enough of everything you will need, including empty space for the items you will need to store in the cabinets, pantry and fridge. There are 4 smart TVs in the house. One in each bedroom. One in the front family room and one in the back sunroom/Futon room that could sleep another 2 adults. We loved the lanai and pool. It's great that there is a hand railing on the stairs into the pool. We comfortably lounged on the lanai and had tons of fun swimming & playing in the pool somewhat shaped like a dogbone. There were plenty of loungers and chairs and a table that extended. We found pool/Gulf float toys in the one car garage. There were a couple of beach chairs and the 2 bikes! The washer & dryer are good to have. This home is so convenient to Downtown Venice, Beaches, Golf, Publix, drugstores, restaurants, Nokomis, Sarasota, Tamiami Trail and I-75. We very much enjoyed our 3 weeks in James & Patricia 's home.

Everyone worries that the pictures are not an accurate representation of the property. Not so with this one. Everything was exactly as described. The owners were very responsive to any questions and got back to us quickly. The backyard pool area was very private and so relaxing. Your own private osasis! The area is old school Venice so some homes are not as maintained as others but it was very quiet.

This home is conveniently located near the downtown area, beaches, shopping, restaurants, and recreation. It is in a neighborhood where some of the homes have been poorly maintained. This property is not one of them, however. It is neat, clean, and spacious in a quiet location. For those who enjoy the water, there is plenty of equipment for use at the beach or in the saltwater pool. There are two bikes in good working condition for those who like to ride. Overall, it's a pretty nice place in a lovely Gulf Coast city.

We truly enjoyed our two-week stay here. The screened lanai and heated pool really made it relaxing and enjoyable. We spent a lot of time on the lanai, utilized the grill, and ate most of our meals there. We appreciated that there was both sun and plenty of shade in the afternoons. There was a good supply of beach equipment- chairs, umbrellas, even a screen for sifting for shark teeth. The house was laid out well for two couples- bedroom and bath on either side of a large, open plan kitchen and living area. Plenty of dishes and cookware. Although it would be considered a modest neighborhood, with some rather neglected homes (including the one next door), we felt very safe. The host was very responsive and helpful. We would definitely recommend this property!

The home was in the perfect location for us. Quiet neighborhood and short drive to the beaches and downtown Venice. Kitchen had all utensils you could need and heated pool and fenced yard were great.

There is not one negative thing that can be said about Jim and Patti’s beautiful home. From the moment we stepped inside, I knew it was going to be an amazing 1 month stay. The home is absolutely immaculate and smelled clean and fresh. The homeowners thought of everything you could ever need and it was all there… beach towels, beach umbrellas, tons of chairs, beach toys, bicycles. It was just so convenient and easy to just get up and go everyday. The house is beautifully decorated and has a definite beach vibe. The two spacious bathrooms were such a bonus. The beds in all bedrooms were extremely comfortable and both had two huge walk in closets. The kitchen was huge and stocked with everything you could ever need. We enjoyed sitting and eating at the expansive island with plenty of room. Now to describe the paradise oasis that is the backyard and the lanai pool. It was just beyond gorgeous. We spent so much time in the pool and just enjoying the backyard beauty. You literally feel like you are in paradise. The fenced in yard was another great thing seeing as though we had our golden retriever with us. She loved running around out there and playing ball.It had plenty of space. The location of this house cannot be any more perfect. You literally have Venice Beach and Nokomis Beach about 5 minutes away. Siesta Key beach was a little further, maybe about 15 minutes max. We enjoyed all 3 beaches and all were gorgeous. This home is close to every grocery store, restaurants, fast food, pharmacies, big box store that you could ever ask for. The garage was awesome too. Also having a washer and dryer was another plus since we were staying for so long. My children who are 11 and 14 were crying when they had to leave. We had an amazing time that I wish never had to end. To summarize, Jim and Patty’s house is a complete gem. You cannot beat the location and the ease of getting to all the beautiful beaches. The backyard is to die for. This home truly feels like a home away from home. I would definitely stay here again! Thank you Jim and Patti for opening your gorgeous home to me and my family.

Had a great 2 1/2 week stay. Kitchen had everything we needed. Beds were comfortable. Outdoor area was great- we had the pool heated. Great location. Easy drive to downtown and different beaches. Can also walk or bike to downtown area. Our dog enjoyed his stay as well! Jim was very quick to respond to all of our questions.

This home met all of our needs. We brought our pets with us and the fenced yard was great for them. The beds were quite comfortable and everything was super clean. The pool was magnificent. Jim, the property owner, was very helpful with any questions we had. He even gave us driving tips for our ride home. I highly recommend this property.

This home was the perfect location for us. It was so close and between the horse show we were attending and the beach. The owners were amazing to work with and very responsive. The pool was a wonderful option as well. They pay attention to every detail and have all you need, stocked kitchen, bikes, beach chairs and plenty more. When I asked about a keurig machine they went and bought one!!! We would absolutely stay here again.

We spent the month of January at this wonderful property. The heated pool and large enclosed private yard were great. Quiet neighborhood only a few minutes from downtown Venice and the beaches.

This lovely home was in a quaint, quiet historical neighborhood. It was very clean and fitted with everything we could possibly need during our 3.5 week stay. The homeowners were wonderful and very responsive to any of our questions. The landscaping and privately fenced in backyard around the beautiful pool was our favorite of all the amenities. We would definitely rent this home again.

Everything was clean and well thought out. Owner was extremely helpful and brought in a brand new patio set for the lanai. AC was cranking and worked great!

This is our second year at this lovely Venice property. As soon as we walk in the door, we feel at home! Our Australian Labradoodle feels the same way. The house is comfy and has two separate master suites - great for two couples. There is a sun porch area/den which also has a queen futon. The house is spacious and open and the pool is great. Jim and Patti are wonderful hosts and always cooperative, helpful, and caring.

We stayed for a week at this beautiful property. The home is clean and updated. It is well stocked with all essentials. The location is convenient to downtown and beaches. The pool and lanai was our favorite part. It’s definitely worth paying the extra fee for the pool if you stay during cooler temps. The heater warmed it up nicely so we could enjoy this great feature of the property. The owners were very responsive and helpful when we had a question during our stay. This was our first time using VRBO and after having such a fantastic experience we will definitely book again.

We truly love this large, open space, home away from home! Pool is large and sitting by it is so relaxing 😎�! The house sleeps 6 comfortably. Two master type suites with baths and a lovely den with doors to pool. Very comfy futon in den. Large kitchen open area. Garage for toys and car. A great find and loved by my family and friends. Dog friendly. We are coming back!! Owners are great and very responsive to all calls. Can’t say enough how lovely home is and well cared for!

We thoroughly enjoyed staying at this property! It was conveniently located to the things we wanted to do. The floor plan with a bedroom and bath on either side of the house makes it perfect for two couples, a girls trip or family. The common area is comfortable and well furnished. The kitchen is arranged nicely and is stocked - in case you want to cook. Jim, the owner, was very attentive and helpful. He handled everything that needed to be done and had local people who were available in a timely manner. The house and yard were well maintained. We did not use the pool but it looked great and clean. We will definitely stay there again if we are in the area.

My family is looking to move to Florida in the future and this was the perfect house to experience what we were looking for...a home with a pool and just a few miles to the beach. This home came with everything you would need....even beach towels, linens, pool noodles and floats, 2 bikes, and cooler to take to the beach. The house was perfectly remodeled, open concept...Clean....plenty of seating in both the kitchen dining and living rooms. The beds were very comfortable. The sheets and towels were of good quality (meaning they were not scratchy and uncomfortable). The pool was very nice...we stayed in July so we didn't need the heat, but we loved the seating area in the pool, such a nice feature. The landscaping was very nice....even a lime tree!!! Some recommendations: a bottle a hand soap would be nice to have in the bathroom so that guests would be able to wash their hands when arriving and using the restroom. The house has an echo...you may want to put some more pictures on the walls or another area rug since the house is all tile. A better frying pan...could not fry or cook an egg to save my life. We had to buy a pan because we every egg we tried to cook, no matter how much butter we used stuck. The neighborhood was nice and quiet! We felt safe. My kids (15) road the bike trails together and biked the neighborhood. It was a wonderful vacation and I would recommend Patty and Jim's house. Thank you!!!

We, and our dog Sammy, spent two glorious months at Jim and Patti’s house. The house is beautiful, well stocked, and very functional. Having the pool at our back door was wonderful. Sammy loved the fenced in yard. Neighbors were very friendly. Location was outstanding. Close to everything but yet quiet. Jim called right after we arrived and checked in several times to assure that everything was o.k. We hope to spend more time there. Rick and Linda H. April 2018

This home was perfect . Newly renovated and stocked with everything we needed for the perfect getaway. The home is large with two bedrooms and a den type room with a futon that can easily be used as an additional sleep space. We were only 3 miles from the beach, and we were always able to find parking at Venice and Nokomis Beach. The neighborhood was wonderful, several of the neighbors were very friendly , we felt very welcome and safe here. Very quiet and located right across from the bridge that takes you into downtown Venice and gives you access to the biking trails. The bike trail was wonderful. Four different paths to choose from, we were never bored! There were several restaurants with in easy walking and biking distance. We rented bicycles for our stay and the company delivered them right to the door. The owners were very nice and stayed in touch with us throughout the entire stay. We were about 20 minutes from Sarasota and Siesta Key and went there several times although we preferred the beaches in Venice. Found many sharks teeth out at Caspersen Beach., which is only a short 15 min car ride. Get there before 10.... This place and this vacation was wonderful.
