The place is a perfect spot to stay for family or groups travelling to explore custer state park. Its accessible to gas

Overall, we were satisfied. The staff were very nice and the room was clean. preferred a cabin tho.

The room was very clean and we liked the newer features and fixtures. The breakfast was pretty good and the staff were nice.

We used booking.com and I think that the property was misrepresented. We really thought we were going to get one of the cabins up on the hill, but got the room right behind the office (119) and there was not a cabin feel to it and no porch. But, it was clean and comfortable, so we figured it was a mistake to go with booking.com.

Very nice place, with updating.

Breakfast is grab and go. Would have been nice to have at least hard boiled eggs - some protein. Oranges were delicious!

I don't like bedspreads that are used by everyone! My preference, first thing to come off the bed! I thought we would have a coffee maker and office didn't open until 7am for breakfast/coffee. We were up at 5am.

Sometimes comfort is king over experiences.

Location and ease of access to other attractions were a bonus.

The room was set up oddly. The TV should have been hung on the wall closest to the beds. The sink, counter and refrigerator should have been on the furthest wall. The mattresses were springy and uncomfortable. Not very restful or comfortable. They had me come to the office the following morning (we arrived after office hours) so the could run my credit card as a means to place a hold on funds just in case of damage to the room or other incidentals. The charge was pending for nearly two weeks. Holiday Inn Express has nicer and updated rooms with luxury mattresses for a similar price. No exterior lighting on the stairway to the cabins. Very dark at night. Very rocky at bottom of steps. They should have turned the porch light to the cabin on for us before our arrival knowing we would be arriving late and at night.

Never use Booking.com ! What I am endorsing on my social media posts !

Had a place to stay !

Booking.com was not helpful at all with descriptions of the property PRIOR to booking/payment made. Was extremely dissatisfied with the value of this property when comparing other properties we stayed within a few mile radius that offered far more value. Will NEVER use Booking.com….unless Booking.com can compensate by refunding a portion of the payment made to regain trust in its offered services.

Passable

Location was very nice and centrally located to all of the venues that we were going to attend.

We booked a 2 bedroom bungalow each with a Queen bed, listed as 800 ft². What we got was a cabin with a loft with 2 Queen beds in it. Management said that they had no facility like was listed with with Bookin.com

Location was excellent. Grounds were pristine!

Check out time was 10am....no exceptions. The pillows were terrible!

Book it!

Everything! Family of 5. We showed up at 3am and the key and map to cabin was waiting for us in a drop box. We left before office hours after a 2 night stay and never had an interaction with staff (never needed to) which was kind of nice! felt private but secure. (I was worried about the secure part) I saw other guests once. We are still in shock by what a gem this place is. And the pool wasn’t even open! it’s about half hour from Mt. Rushmore but perfect as we basically did a loop and touched so many sites in such a small amount of time. There was always something to see. Custer is full of amazing people and the little shops and coffee places are quality. We loved the view from our cabins deck up top. Next time we’ll spend the extra for bigger cabin/hot tub because the one we got was so worth it. It’s not updated but everything smells nice and clean and I didn’t see one spider or bug in the cabin. Shower was wonderful, pressure perfect, stayed hot the whole time; for 5 people! plenty of towels for our family. toilet flushed well. I mean, it’s the little things. I digress. if you’re on the fence. hop over. because I researched about 15 minutes before booking this place and do not regret a single minute of our stay. AND they’re pet friendly!!

That the site doesn’t automatically book you for the discounted off season rate. You have to ask I think lol

Very good

Located right in Custer, room was as expected and the staff was friendly and helpful. Saw deer and turkeys outside our window most mornings :) Didn't utilize the free breakfast option so cannot rate that aspect.

Thin walls- could hear our neighbors in the room over but it wasn't unreasonable.

Perfect accommodations for our family of 4.

Rooms are large. I like the privacy of the cabins.

Would have loved a view and a coffee maker in the room. Mattresses are a little hard and pillows are flat or lumpy.
