With a 15 minute drive distance from San Jose airport, this is a great place to be! I can't overestimate how much I liked Pibi Boreal, and the staff. The owners are super nice, helpful, caring and would serve with any information you might need. Talking to both of them is an extra treat as they know surroundings very well. This is a very intimate hotel with 5 rooms only, a large garden to walk around, thousands of butterflies and birds, as well as an unobscured view of the rainforest, which basically comes into your place. Breakfast is served to your room, and you can have it sitting on the terrace, watching the nature around you. Rooms are of a decent size, I really liked a bathroom. It is very clean. But first and most of all - the owners make this place so special! Thank you!

I recently stayed at a wonderful bed and breakfast with spacious rooms and friendly owners. The highlight of my stay was the delicious breakfast and the beautiful view from my room. The room is clean and has everything what you need. I also enjoyed listening to the birds singing all around the property. I highly recommend this bed and breakfast for anyone looking for a comfortable and relaxing stay.

Hotel Pibi Boreal's description and reviews are accurate. Some have commented about airplane noise, but in the evening and morning it is limited and after all, it is a place that is convenient to the airport, so some plane noise should be expected. It's a fine lodging on the outer edge of San Jose, away from most of the noise and congestion of the city but close to enough to good restaurants and shopping in Alajuela. Rooms are spacious and uncluttered, with huge views and a patio overlooking a forest; bath is immaculate; breakfasts are tasty and plentiful, hosts are kind and helpful. It is a great value for all they offer in this area.

The property is close to the airport and San José, however already very quiet and surrounded by pure nature. The host are very lovely. They really take care about you, even before you arrive with very good recommendations. The rooms are very nice, clean and have a wonderful view into nature. The breakfast was very good. It was served at the hotel room. We enjoyed it sitting in the terrace

Lovely stay. Very convenient from the airport,we arrived late at night so was a magical experience to wake up to the sights and sounds of the jungle. Delicious breakfast too!

The balcony and view was so lovely. It was amazing to wake-up by all that greenery, do some yoga and the breakfast was really good too. It's quite, but also close to a shopping centre and to get to the airport. Best of both worlds!

Wonderful hosts, great breakfast brought to our room, awesome view!

The place is an oasis and has so much nature. There are macaws in the sky and wild exotic birds including hummingbirds in the garden. There’s a trail in the backyard with lots of flora and fauna. The hotel owners are super nice and courteous. They have gone above and beyond what they had to do to accommodate us. They even helped pack our luggage’s into the SUV which was not easy. Would highly recommend anyone who wants to experience an Eco chic place to stay near the airport.

The view is amazing! Really calm place! The owner was really helpful with everything! Picked me up ate the airport and helped me with private transport to my next destination. Really nice place to stay after a long flight!

I booked this place for my mother-in-law who was traveling alone for the return journey from Costa Rica back to the States. We dropped her off on our way to the airport and fell in love with the place which was located in quite hillside neighborhood. We wish we could have stayed there too! I had communicated with Mathieu about arranging transport for my mother-in-law early the next morning and he was extremely responsive. He met us upon our arrival and I can't say enough good things about how personal he was. The next morning, he was outside her room bright and early to have her at the airport on time. I would highly recommend the Hotel Pibi Boreal and would love to stay there in the future if we find ourselves back in Costa Rica

Gorgeous views and the rooms are new/comfortable. Loved hearing the jungle come alive. They also bring breakfast to your door and offer a free airport pick up. Great value for money. Highly recommend.

Unfortunately my neighbours were practicing for a singing competition, so this kinda ruined the rest and sounds of nature I longed for! Obviously this was just unlucky, but I’d suggest asking for a room that isn’t next door to anyone if there is availability as the walls are very thin!
