This property is exactly as pictured; it is clean, comfortable and well-positioned on the quiet side of the island. Mary and Tom are stellar hosts. I highly recommend this property!

Mary was very welcoming. The studio itself was quiet and cozy.

We enjoyed our second visit just as much as the first! Mary was quick to answer sine questions I had, and the space is just perfect for two. Nice location near the seawall, too!

We had an excellent time at Manset House. Perfect location for exploring MDI, excellent restaurants (Hearth & Harbor, Red Sky and Sweet Pea’s Cafe) and very quiet location. The apartment was amply sized, clean, had a comfy bed and space to stretch out for a couple. I’m a cooker and the utensils, pans, and kitchen stuff could use an upgrade. Most people would have no trouble. The AC worked great for hot days and the windows caught a great breeze. Treats were left for our arrival. There were two places to be outside- a deck off the entrance and a fire pit on the lawn with a gas grill. We had an excellent vacation, and I would definitely stay again.

I have been coming up to the Mount Desert Area for the past seven or so years, but recently had to change where I had been staying due to the passing of the owner. With that in mind, I certainly held my expectations high especially since this would be my boyfriend's first impression of this area as well. The space provided to us here exceeded my expectations in terms of space, proximity to nature, and cleanliness. We felt at home all week and that is certainly thanks to the efforts of Mary and her husband. We had abundant privacy, and a private entry to the space above the attached garage. We had front row seat to a full sky of stars, deer, raccoons, and a firepit when we wanted it. We are certainly looking to return in the future :) Thank you, Mary :)

Really enjoyed my week on the quiet side in this comfortable, woodsy apartment in the trees. The hosts were very friendly and welcoming and the apartment had everything I needed. The place is quite spacious with ample outdoor space and very quiet. Don't miss Peter Trout's restaurant nearby - their steak sandwich is heavenly!

If you are a couple or perhaps a small family and are looking for a quiet place to stay that is away from all the busy areas, then this is the place! First of all, the owners were always just a text or phone call away if anything was needed. My wife and I were particularly impressed by the simple gesture we found in the refrigerator when we arrived late on our first night: two muffins, a bowl of cherries, and milk and orange juice...all for our breakfast the next morning. The studio has everything you need in the kitchen if you want to make any meals during your stay. The place is clean and very close to Southwest Harbor and all of the other attractions on the "quiet side" of Mt Desert Island. And when you want to explore the busier side (Bar Harbor and all the Acadia National Park attractions on the east side of the island), the drive is only about 30 minutes. There are no views to speak of from the deck, and you'll need to go to the laundry mat in Southwest Harbor or Ellsworth if you plan to pack light and wash clothes, but these are the only two things we can say are negatives, and both are just minor to us. Acadia National Park is an incredible place! If you need a small place that is centrally located on Mount Desert Island, you won't be dissapp

This was our first trip to Acadia, and Tom and Mary were excellent hosts! The property is clean and cozy, with lots of considerate touches (some snacks for when we got there, a collection of books, shampoo and conditioner in the bathroom, etc). The only thing that could have been better was the Wi-Fi - we seemed to be just out of range of the router, so an extender might fix the issue. That said, Acadia is so beautiful that we didn’t really mind, and we enjoyed having a bit of a break from technology. Thanks for a wonderful experience!!!

The property might be a little tough to find at first, but that adds to the charm, and it'll become easy to remember where to turn. At first glance, you can tell the homeowners have taken care of their property, and this studio is no different. It is a perfect size for 2 people, though you could probably have up-to-4. It's not big, but it's quaint. It has everything you'd want in a vacation rental - fridge, toaster oven, stove, coffee pot, hot showers, and a queen bed that lulls you to sleep. Cellular coverage isn't the greatest, but the free WiFi was so nice to have in prepping for the day ahead. Overall, I really can't think of a single bad thing from this rental. For me - a solo traveller - it was the perfect size for my first experience in Maine, and I'm ELATED to advocate this property. The hosts were amazing, the welcome basket was so nice and full of Acadia information, and I immediately felt at home. Believe me - when fortune turns again, and I think of Maine again, this rental will unquestionably be my first stop to investigate opportunities! You will enjoy it. You will!

The apartment was clean and as advertised. The owners were nice, but respected privacy. It is definitely a small apartment suitable for 2. It worked well for us.

After years of staying in thai part of the island, the people we rented from decided to no longer rent. This place was excellent d for our needs. We are hikers, cyclists and paddlers who need a nice cozy place to eat and sleep and spend fall evenings reading. Perfect for us.

Place was cute, quiet, clean and located in a good area. Small town, lots of little shops, beautiful views. Lot of pull offs to take in the views of the rocks, lakes and small boats.

We loved our stay here. Everything was wonderful, including the cabin, the location, and our lovely hosts. We enjoyed the quiet and the darkness and hanging out on the deck. We hope to return!

This was a very quiet and private neighborhood with a lot of shade. A nice shaded deck to read a book or enjoy a warm or cold drink. The kitchen is fully equipped to make a simple breakfast lunch or diinner. It also has a coffee pot, which was a plus! Thank you for a nice stay.
