Spacious and relaxing

This was our family's first stay at a Big Bear Vacation Rental home and we loved it! The house was big enough for us all and had a very warm and welcoming vibe! It really felt like our home away from home! There were just a few minor things that needed improvement, one of the matresses in the downstairs bedroom was sunken in very deep, a couple of doorknobs need to be repaired, there should be a curtain for the kitchen window and it would have been nice to have access to park in the garage. Other than that, the house was cleaned well , ( except for a few extra ceiling cob webs), and ready for us when we arrived and we really enjoyed our stay!! This property is very mediocre. Sitting in the insane traffic to get through Big Bear to pick up keys added over an hour to our already long drive in. I wish this agency could operate a more thoughtful system. Also, smoke alarm was beeping when we arrived, which made we wonder if the property has been cleaned or serviced recently. Considering we were the first renter after Covid 19 lockdown, this as a little worrisome. We contacted the agency and they fixed it quickly. Garbage disposal was broken, upstairs shower not functional, and not even a starter roll of paper towels was provided. The couches are so very uncomfortable, as are the beds and pillows. There was only 1 garbage bag left for us. There is no access to the garage, so no place to put trash or fishing poles, or messy lake stuff. There was no hose to rinse off lake stuff. The fenced in backyard was overgrown, covered in bugs and had dilapidated fences that made it unusable for our dogs. Also on a very busy street. Besides the street, the property is on a decent spot close to the lake. We had a nice weekend, regardless of the condition of the house. We informed the agency of issues at checkout and never got a response.
