The location and ease of everything was amazing.

Lovely bright, clean, tidy accommodation. I have stayed in quite a few of Abbies' appartments now and they are always very convenient for my needs. The kitchen is pretty well equiped, mostly everything you need, and particularly thankful for a freezer compartment in the fridges. Nice layout, big windows that you can open. Convenient location. Co op just up the road, and also a great Chippy! And parking permit always a bonus! The plug in the bathroom sink was in when I used it and it had somehow gotten jammed, I couldn't budge it, but the owner came straight round to rectify it, good service! Overall, these are great little units!

I know the key safes are a great idea and make it easy for people to come and go, but I find them so difficult to operate. For anyone with arthritis or just cold hands, (or poor eye sight) they are so fiddly and hard to see and to grapple with! even when you get the numbers right, it is hard to push the button down to open. No fault of the owners at all, but I just wish they could be re-designed to make them easier! I spent far too long trying to master it! (the outdoor code entry, on the other hand, works great) The sofa and cushions are a bit hard! they look good but not particularly comfty. There was pepper but the salt pot was empty. And would have been great to have the clock on the wall, but unfortunately it needed a battery! Also, could maybe do with a cutlery tray?!

Whilst the accommodation is clean, it is basic. There is a reasonable level of basic essentials, but everything is 'functional'. A number of previous reviews have mentioned that the mattress is very worn and needs replacing, but this has not happened. You can feel every spring. Also, worth noting that the bed is exceptionally low to the floor, so could be an issue if you have mobility problems. Others reviews have also noted the noise from other apartments - this isn't a reflection on the host, but yes, you can hear every foot on the communal staircase to the other apartments and every footstep in the apartment above.
