Spectacular stay at Lar de Santana. We had stunning views of the north shore of the island. This quiet little village gives you a real feeling of living like a local. The perfect location from which to explore the rugged northeast side of Sao Miguel - the most beautiful part of the island IMO.
The house was well appointed and immaculately clean. Our hosts, Rui and Leonia were so helpful and accommodating. We could not have asked for a better experience.
Highly recommend Lar de Santana.

The amazong view. A peaceful place.
The kindness of Rui and his wife, and all the advices they gave us for discovering the island.
The fresh breads delivered every morning.
The fresh maracujas.
Nothing. The stay was magical

Our hosts went through a great deal of trouble and well beyond necessity to help us out with on our side poorly planned stay, and turned a disaster in making into the most wonderful vacation we have ever been to. And we are so grateful for that.
