The best snorkeling on the island is in your "backyard" at this property! We went to over a dozen different beaches and found the best snorkeling right outside/behind this house! See photos of the grotto/entry point into water on the property listing. The host and local property manager were quick to respond. Worth mentioning that the property location is very remote but there are a few restaurants within 10-30 mins (at Playa Lagun, Playa Forti, Bali, etc). The house is well equipped as described in the listing.

We loved the sea glass house. We hoped to get in the water right outside the property but it was a little too rough. The sound of the waves crashing on the rocks was so relaxing. Wish there was a little more place to park since we came for a family reunion but no one came over since there wasn’t extra parking but they could park down the hill and walk up if they really wanted. Check in and check out was great. They gave us a allotment of how much electricity we could use. I didn’t expect that but I think a lot of places do the same. Plus we were way under since we only used one bedroom at night to cool down.
It’s quiet but still pretty close to everything you need.

The house sits right above the ocean. The house has its own entry into the ocean. The house is located in a quiet neighborhood. If you want to have a girls weekend where you just relax enjoy each other and enjoy the ocean views this is your place. If you are a family that loves to just dip into the ocean whenever you'd like, this is your house. Leaving the busyness of Willemstad behind, we found this house to be very inviting. You will need a rental car. You will also be questioning yourself as to where you're going when you're driving to the house, but believe me it is worth it. Follow the hosts instructions with how to get to the house. Make sure you communicate with a host about your arrival time as well. With a washer and dryer this made packing very easy to return home.Enjoy your stay!

The house is as advertised and how it appears in pictures.
The reef out back was snorkelled every day by our group in all water conditions. On rougher days it should only be attempted if you are strong swimmers.
The house is very tired and needs some TLC. Some paint and foliage to make it more appealing like some of the other neighbouring homes.
There were electrical issues and the master bedroom had no electricity for 9 out of our 10 night stay. We had 7 people in our group, so not utilizing this room was not an option. It is tricky showering and packing in the dark and inconvenient not having outlets to charge cameras, phones, or blow your hair dry.
Dirk was fantastic and provided us with a remote light to use. We also had some lights of our own to navigate in the room at night. Its is very dark at night. He referred doctors to us when some of our group needed medicine for ear infections. One of the other bedrooms had electrical issues for a day but resolved itself. We also had issues with AC's tripping breakers if we used the clothes dryer. Dirk did have electricians come on two occasions, but with no resolution unfortunately.
We had a pretty easy going group and for some the electrical issue would have been a deal breaker. I would stay here again, but would need to confirm electrical issues are resolved or be provided with some compensation for the inconvenience. The rental rate we paid all rooms should be operating fully.

We very much enjoyed the tranquility of the house and neighborhood with some of the best snorkeling on the island in the backyard. We love Curacao and this is one of our go to houses to stay in.

Pros:
Great reef right out the door, but the sea was too rough sometimes, maybe it was because it was windy.
Kitchen was stocked with spices and everything you need to cook your meals.
Cons:
The house is remote with no trails around. If you want to hike - you need to drive. It takes 10-15 minutes just to get out of neighbourhood to a main road.
The main areas of the house are cleanish, but it was dirty in the corners, the lights, fan and curtains were downright dirty.
Refrigerator was barely working, all food went bed in a few days.
There are two beach chairs and a sport chair , beach chairs are not fitted for adults, very small and uncomfortable.
Next time I would stay in Lagun area.

The Good: Curacao -- very lovely! Pleasant and fair property owner. Attentive property manager greeted us at check-in with the groceries he picked up for us. We were very grateful and happy to have food for breakfast. Quiet and secluded location, just what we wanted, with beautiful beaches a short drive away. We arrived at night so couldn't see the property and water until daylight. Beautiful sea view; very tranquil. It was breathtaking to awake to.
The Bad: The property could be beautiful and a true paradise but it is overdue for basic maintenance and upkeep. The landscaping is sad, unlike some of the neighboring properties. The interior is dated (bathrooms, kitchen, furniture, decor) and no matter how many doors and windows you open for a cross-breeze, it is hot and uncomfortable downstairs. The place also smells musky and damp from being closed up with no regular ventilation. We couldn't use most of the towels because they smelled, either from not being properly dried or from the house. A deep cleaning of the entire house could improve the smell.
The Ugly: Cockroaches! I know bugs are common near water but I expect to see them outside, not in my dwelling. There were just too many to feel comfortable or want to stay there. We had to cut our stay short. We were pleasantly surprised that Andrew offered a full refund for our troubles and without us asking. A professional exterminator was scheduled the day we left so hopefully no more bugs for the next guests.

It is a bit remote but that's exactly what we wanted. The last part of the roads getting there aren't the best, but not terrible. The view from the deck was amazing and the breeze helped keep the main part of the house from feeling too hot. I do wish the water entry was updated with a ladder or some rails as we could see it would be an absolutely incredible location to snorkel. We just felt the water was a bit too rough during our stay to risk the entry without some type of hold. We did, however, enjoy several of the public beaches on the island and a second entry just down the street that wasn't as bad. Overall, the home is lovely and we had an incredible trip.

The view over the reef is incredible. Clear, warm, turquoise water. Lots of fish, turtles, eels, coral. Endless snorkeling (and diving) right off the cliff. Though the entry looks rough, you’ll quickly find your footing on a shallow shelf and discover the splash on the rocks isn’t what it seems. My kids both managed and loved the entry right into an underwater garden. Bring your own mask and fins.
The home is remote at 40 mins from the city - wasn’t a problem as we wanted a quiet vacation and that’s what we got. Be prepared for a rough 3km road from Soto to the property. Drive slowly and thread the potholes. The house is constantly beaten by salt spray conditions making locks and windows sticky or occasionally inoperable. But the kitchen was fully stocked for home cooking and daily life. Beds are comfy - the rooms are all air conditioned but not the whole house. Cooking at night can be a fight between being under direct fans or swatting the bugs. See if you can order BBQ in Soto on Sunday night. The street shop was delicious.
Really enjoyed being at this house and would go back. Thanks for having us.

Our family, 3 adults and 2 kids, spent a wonderful week at the Sea Glass House in June. The house is lovely, the view is fantastic, and the property managers were incredibly friendly and helpful. We did not meet the unit owners, but all communications with them prior to our stay were very positive, and prompt.
The only things we would reiterate for those looking to stay at this property:
1, the water directly behind the house seems to be mostly inaccessible for those without at least intermediate skills. Unfortunately, we were not able to enter the water there at any point during our stay. However, we still enjoyed the views (including seeing nice looking coral formations from above surface) and the private grotto too. We also had no issue driving to other beaches, as we had initially planned. Though based on what we could see, we certainly wish we had been able to have the conditions (or skills) for it!
2, location is a little tricky. We liked the area a lot, but navigating in and out of the area of this neighborhood was a bit daunting at times. Still would recommend, but know that you definitely need a vehicle, prepare to drive slowly and patiently, and make sure you have access to an accurate map.
3, last thing, accessibility. Yes, there are a lot of stairs to access this property, and no way around it. Again, this wasn't an issue for us, but definitely something to be aware of if traveling as or with someone with mobility issues.
All in all, we really enjoyed our stay and would not hesitate to recommend this property to others!

The 3 bedrooms and 4 baths worked well for us. The many steps would not be ideal for some groups. We were there in early April for 2 weeks and this during a windy season and this prevented us from snorkeling in front of the house several days of our stay. We were told by locals that the sea is calmer there in September/November.

Nice Getaway
The house setting was nice. The ocean was calm in the morning and picked up to provide pleasant ambient sound later in the day. The house had everything we needed and the managers were attentive. The house reef was nice for snorkeling and diving.

My wife and I enjoyed our stay in this beautiful house. Entrance to the ocean in the backyard was a bit too difficult for elderly couple like us, but there was another much easier entrance down the road only 2 minute walk.
There is also a small beach 3 minute driving distance from the house.
It was a very quiet place away from everything else.
So, if you enjoy going to bars & restaurants at night, you may not want to stay here. But if you want quiet and relaxed vacation in a beautiful house by the sea. This place is perfect.
Managing couple (Dirk & Inge) lived nearby and they were very nice and helpful. We plan to go back there again sometime.

This place is amazing. From the moment we arrived to the moment we left we loved it. I could write a book about just how great this place is. My wife and I have stayed all over the islands and this is one place we will return to for sure. The house was spotless. The beds were super comfortable. The view...well, seriously, it ROCKS! Even the showers had plenty of hot water and great water pressure. I realize that is not something most people thin about, but after staying places that don't have that, you appreciate the ones that do.
Andrew (the owner) was fantastic. Super responsive all the time. The caretakers live 4 houses down and were just the nicest people ever. They went shopping before we arrived and that is something you should definitely take advantage of! The grocery store they suggest is a bit of a drive. While there are a few closer ones, anyone traveling here for the first time will want to visit the bigger ones to stock up.
Our couple of negatives were not huge but worth mentioning. Fist off, the wife has a bit of a reaction to mosquito bites but we love having the house open in the day and early night. Unfortunately there are no screens on any of the windows and the mosquitos got her good. She had to constantly douse herself in bug spray so bring plenty. We kept the bedroom door closed 24/7 to keep them out of the bedroom but she still sprayed up before bed. Screens would sure make the experience easier.
The second was easily solved by downloading maps.me on your phone. The directions to the place were very confusing as NOTHING is marked well at all. Wound up in a town called Barber before turning around and using the app to get us there way faster. The second part to this, is the drive into the property takes you through some very back roads. If you arrive at night, this drive would intimidate just about anyone as there are zero working street lights on this back road. Thankfully we have driven on just about every island you can think of and know what to expect with island driving. So if you arrive at night, have someone pick you up from the airport if this seems like it would freak you out.
Aside from those few (and very small) negatives, the place is as it is shown. Comfortable, clean, quiet and worth every cent. We are already talking about a return trip with more of the family.
If you love to snorkel, by all means do not let the trip get away without going out in front of the place. The coral was simply amazing.

Perfect Family Vacation
We spent 7 days at The Sea Glass house exploring the beautiful island of Curacao with our 3 children, ages 12, 9, and 6. The house was perfect for us, allowing us to sleep comfortably and make most of our meals at home, but the true wow factor was the stairs down to the grotto, private cave system, and incredible snorkeling in the back. The kids LOVED the cave- we took picnic lunches down there and enjoyed the proximity to the crashing waves and sparkling. The snorkeling was some of the best we found on the whole island- beautiful, vibrant coral and lots of sea life. The kids climbed the cliffs and found little secret hideaways that made the trip so very special for them. It was a really special feature.
The location of the house was great- takes a little while to wind your way back to the main road, but that's what it takes to get that gorgeous water access. We loved being so close to the west side beaches, Grote Knip and Playa Forti being favorites, and swimming with the sea turtles at Playa Grandi was one of the most special experiences of my life. Grote Knip was the most beautiful beach I've ever seen, and no matter what we did each day, we always stopped at Playa Forti on the way home so the kids could jump off the tall cliffs by the restaurant. It was an easy drive to Willemstad when you wanted more action and access to restaurants, but we loved staying on the quiet side in Soto.
Andrew was a great host and very responsive and Dirk and Inge were great local managers and very quick to fix any need (the stove ran out of gas and we immediately had a new tank from Dirk). We highly recommend beautiful Curacao for a family vacation and very highly recommend Sea Glass House to stay.

Great get away
The property was as list . The house was big and clean. The on-site managers are fantastic people and helpful. With a little searching we found some great places to eat within 10 mins form the house. The property is right on the water, great view. One note it depends on the day if you can get into the water due to wave action at the house but no need to worry there is a great beach just a 10 min walk from the house.
We would stay there again and Andrew the owner checked in with us to make sure we had what we needed thank you .

Great property with a great quiet location
Great property with a great quiet location! The area is very serene none of the hustle and bustle of being in Williamstad. We enjoyed the peace and quite and loved the fact that we could snorkel right out front! It was beautiful although we didn't take advantage of it until the last day, we wish we would have sooner but we were scuba diving all over the island. We would recommend a pair of binoculars though to watch the boats that pass by. There are also great restaurants very close. Landhuis Klein Santa Marta right up the street and Bahia in Lagoon were our favorites. Loved the place and hope we can get back there soon.

Sea glass House is Amazing
We stayed at the Seaglass house for a week in April. We loved it! House was beautiful. It had everything we could have needed. Plenty of space for everyone. The view from the house were spectacular! We especially loved the grotto! Snorkeling out the back was hard to beat!! House is close to some awesome beaches. We would recommend staying at the Seaglass house.

Amazing home right on the ocean!
Our family of six just returned yesterday from nine days at the Seaglass House. We didn’t want to leave! Fresh ocean breezes blew through the house all day long and room air conditioners kept us cool at night. It was very private and quiet! The views from the house were breathtaking. We would love to go back someday!
The owner and house managers were so kind and helpful with any questions we had.

Incredible views in seclusion
We loved our stay here! The accommodations were excellent and we enjoyed the seclusion, the nature and the unforgettable views. We had everything we needed and the home was very comfortable. The hosts are amazing and they have an excellent online guidebook that helped us plan our trip prior to arrival. We are looking forward to return in the future!

Luxury Accommodations Overlooking the Ocean
The location is very private. There are only a few houses (mostly rentals) on the road. It's also remote, so it's quiet. This is not a place to party, but to relax in nature's glory.
With a series of stairs directly down to the ocean, you couldn't get any closer. Every morning we opened all the doors to allow the strong breeze to freshen the air and welcome the sounds of the waves. The house is well appointed with everything you could need for a relaxing vacation. The fully equipped kitchen allowed us to cook fresh meals. There's a washing machine and clothesline, also. The living room has lots of comfy seating, and a big TV. Bedrooms each have their own bathrooms, and the front two have great views of the ocean. They each have their own AC unit. Lots of storage in bedrooms, so all your clothes and suitcases can be put away. Beds were really comfy.
We heard that there was a mosquito problem on the island, but the constant breeze at the house, and the hilltop location kept them away.
The homeowners left a guestbook with recommendations for everything you could want, and the house managers live in the neighborhood and are there to help with anything we needed.
When we were at the house, most of the time was spent on the balcony. We couldn't resist the sight and sound of the ocean, and the constant changing patterns of sun and waves. We visited 7 different beaches and snorkeled at all of them. They each had their own character, and all very close to the house.
Stairs could be a problem for some people, as there are quite a few. You have to walk down to the house from the road where you park, and there are stairs inside up to the bedrooms. That didn't bother us, even though we were always carrying a lot of things.
I really have no complaints at all, and highly recommend this beautiful vacation rental.

Welcome to Paradise!! Insane beauty in every direction.
My husband and I had an amazing vacation in Curaçao staying at the Seaglass house. The house is situated on the side of a cliff with a few other houses near it. You can access the water by descending the cliff face stairs which are easy to use. Once in the water we experienced a lovely underwater garden of coral, fish, sea fans, and other sea creatures. I even swam near a Green Sea turtle one day. We have been to several Caribbean islands and this island and location was definitely our favorite. We spent two weeks snorkeling and exploring the rest of the island. We climbed Mount Christoffel and the view from up there is awesome, as you can see practically the entire island. We also stopped a several of the beaches mainly up the coast from us. Jeremi Beach was one of our favorites. We went there several times to look for Sea glass and snorkel. Also there is a beautiful beach on the access road maybe a mile or less from the Sea Glass house.
The house is comfortable and located on one of the loveliest place on the island. The bedrooms are air conditioned and they are very comfortable. The kitchen has everything you need if you are planning on cooking (which we did).
We enjoyed sitting out at night star gazing.
Dirk and Inge the property managers weee so nice and on hand if we needed anything. Andrew the owner was so easy to deal with in scheduling the house for our stay and answered all our questions.
We felt very comfortable and safe at the house. We hated to leave to return home but duty calls!!! We are looking forward to our next visit at Seaglass House!!
Oh and as a side note we traveled into Willemstad a decouple of times it is an easy trip and well worth the visit.
Also we ate at the resort hotel in Lagun ( North of the Sea glass house) and found the food and drinks to be very good and the outdoor restaurant has a great view!!
Thanks Inge, Dirk, and Andrew for the awesome vacation!!
