The location is just lovely. The sea is just across the road, and Trattoria Scala Grande is a 10 minute walk away. The house is comfortable, and the welcome package very generous - we didn't actually use anything but the coffee as we were only there one night and felt it would be a bit cheeky of us. The garden - oh, the garden! The views from it are amazing, and the outside shower just heaven.

We were there on a summer Friday night, and the locals were... lively. Next time I would have dinner later (we ate at 8pm), and wear ear plugs! I would also aim to stay more than one night - we were sorry to leave! I would say that it is best suited to a couple and younger (say, 6 to 10 yo) children - although our 14yo said she was very comfortable on the sofa bed.

the place is a real gem! placed in a quiet village, close to Acireale. the sea is in front of the door, you can hear the waves when sleeping at night. the kitchen has everything for cooking. Maria went out of her way to make our stay comfortable. amazing lady! can't wait to come back

It was a really wonderful experience! The host Maria Luisa is super nice and super helpful - and super hospital, as probably only a Sicilian can be :D ... The location itself is dreamy, a tiny little quiet and "original" village, and the nice house on two floors is right on the sea, the sea is almost "in" the main bedroom; it has different private terraces, gardens, lemon trees, barbecue or pizza facilities... A really great experience, only truly nice! If you go don't forget to meet Trattoria "chef" Tanina and her Pasta or her Granitas - among the most famous on the island i.e. on the world....

Amazing house, property, amazing view, amazing host. I would recommend this property to anyone looking for a cozy, homey feeling during their trip to this region. Also works as a wonderful home base for traveling throughout other parts of Sicily.

Casa del Nespolo in Santa Maria la Scala has been a true vacation highlight for us. In fact, it is a wonderful and calm place we will never forget. The whole house is located directly at the beach, so you wake up every morning in this tastefully furnished old italian villa with a direct view over the waves. There is plenty of room, the kitchen has every equipment you could possibly wish for, everything is perfectly clean and the garden on the hillside is a delight. The native beach with crystal clear water is just minutes away. To our biggest and most pleasant surprise we found the refrigerator and the cupboard richly filled with supplies for us. The exceptional hospitality of our host can't be praised enough. She was so nice, always checking, if we needed anything and on our last day she even took us to Catania with her car.

Owner is really nice and friendly, she kept on checking on us and asking if we have enough food left. She gave us great recomendations on where to eat (btw, try to avoid Mulino and go to La Grotta). Location is just perfect for relaxing vacations. There is a nice bar at the beach, the sea is perfect and there is few bars/restaurants around the appartment.

There was a lot of rain a day before we arrived, so the terraces were quite dirty and there was a lot of creepy crawlers around. I was looking forward to read a book in the hammock, but it was not at any of the terraces, also the grass was not cut so we did not spend too much time there (the paved terraces were perfect fo sunbathing tho). The outside grills seemed like they were not used for a while, so we could not really use them (maybe that was because of rain as well). There is not a lot of cooking utensils, but enough to make pasta :)
