On first impression this is a small family farm. But the family have recently built a magnificent guest block with amazing views over the river and valley. The rooms are huge as is the very comfortable bed. Hot water and a very clean bathroom. Balcony space for all. Back to the old section for a lovely home cooked three course supper. A lovely stay and far preferable to the over rated and rather tired Llahuar Lodge at the other end of the valley.

Dinner was delicious and the portion sizes were generous. The rooms seem to have been recently renovated and felt modern and quiet. The bed was very large, and the duvet was exceptionally comfortable. Unlike many other accommodations in Peru, they don’t use blankets that are often not washed between guests, so I felt much more comfortable about the hygiene here. They also accepted card payments with no additional fee.
We visited in May and it was not cold at night.
They charged 20 soles for a 2.5L bottled water - this is more expensive than other places in the canyon.
The packed lunch was vegetarian and OK but it would have been better with some meat.
