Es un restaurante muy famoso en Kaikoura que encima tiene unas habitaciones. Hay que decir que está algo viejo y va necesitando una reforma. Si os alojáis, mi consejo es que uséis el servicio que queda a la izquierda de la escalera de subida (según subís) ya que está renovado (el de la derecha no lo está). En frente hay una ducha también recién renovada. Las habitaciones son pequeñas pero cumplen su función. Aún así se oye todo lo de al lado (llevad tapones). Respecto al desayuno, es muesli y copos de maíz, leche, yogur azucarado, pan para tostar, mermeladas y melocotón en almíbar. Está todo en una habitación y te lo sirves tú mismo… no esperéis maravillas. Otro punto: el coste es 5NZD más de lo que dice en Booking. Les comenté que en Booking salía otra cosa y les da igual. Las vistas del hostal son chulas y como hay un restaurante puedes comer o tomar una birra mirando el mar y las montañas (tienen una terraza fuera y también un balcón). Además está cerca de la zona de las focas. Es un sitio correcto, algo viejo, pero para una noche sirve (no más).

Checking in is easy. The restaurant on site made it easy for meals. Room is clean and with a stunning view of the pacific. Continental breakfast has a variety of yogurt and cereals as well as fruits.

The heater in the room is inadequate for the size and shape of the room. We were freezing cold.

The location was AMAZING. Definitely recommend having your breakfast on the Balcony for the sunrise! The beds were comfy and the room was toasty and warm.

It's a little dated sure but it's charming and it's clean!

Everything was spot on. No complaints here. Definitely recommend to others

we were promised that keys would be left out as our ferry from wellington was delayed we arrived at 130am and searched - no keys had been left out as promised 4 very cold hours spent sleeping in a car was a miserable start to our holiday

Had a twin room upstairs at the front of the older Pub Hotel overlooking the wraparound verandah that looked out over the ocean. Great views from the room. Only two rooms in this front position with hallway in between with door that leads onto verandah. Small table and chairs available on the verandah to sit and chill out. Would have preferred the queen room that had its own door leading onto the verandah but unfortunately it was booked. Other rooms down hallway. Room was smallish but had comfortable beds. Heater but no air con. Large window could be opened to let in the sea breeze. Shared bathroom toilet facilities clean and tidy. Has a shared lounge with TV and board games. Tea and coffee available at all times in this room. Also has a self-service continental breakfast included in the price in this lounge area. Very reasonable budget price to stay. Downstairs is a nice upmarket restaurant, bar and garden bar that is popular. Was lucky to get the last table available booked for a meal on a Monday night. Excellent meal options but pricey. Great place to stay for original NZ old school hotel accommodation.
