Upper Cooperage - a semi-detached apartment that sleeps up to 6 guests
I luminosi e ariosi appartamenti del Cooperage sono situati all'estremità occidentale della Gunpowder House e godono di una vista sul Village Paddock e sulle colline al di là.
Upper Cooperage è accessibile tramite una scala esterna e balcone a tutta larghezza con posti a sedere all'aperto. La porta d'ingresso si apre dal balcone in un ampio corridoio con camere che conducono nel grande salotto godendo di una vista favolosa sul villaggio (dotato di stufa a legna, due divani letto singoli per ospiti occasionali, CTV, DVD), cucina open space / sala da pranzo (con forno, piano cottura, frigorifero con ice-box, forno a microonde e lavastoviglie). Il lato opposto dei corridoi conduce ad un bagno (con vasca, doccia elettrica con vasca, lavabo e lavandino), ampia camera doppia e spaziosa camera da letto matrimoniale (con porte francesi che si aprono su un piccolo balcone); camera doppia (con vista fino a Quarry Cottage).
Il parcheggio è nella zona sul lato sinistro del frontone, sotto la riva erbosa.

We extended our stay in Melfort village and were rewarded with beautiful weather. Upper Cooperage is a lovely comfortable apartment which now has an ensuite shower room as well as main bathroom. Everything we need is provided and the village is so peaceful and relaxing. All the staff are welcoming & helpful & the Monday music night was great fun. Recommend a stay here.

A comfortable home-from-home, with all the amenities one could need. I stayed in this property several years ago, but it's been upgraded since then. The en-suite shower-room (with its pocket door) is a masterful use of space, and, I'm sure, very useful when there is full occupancy.
I usually visit here in Autumn, so it was a pleasure to see Melfort Village and the surrounding area in a different season. The warm weather meant I could profit from the outdoor seating on the balcony, another nice touch.
It's always a pleasure to go to Melfort at any time of the year with friendly staff, good services on-site, and plenty to see and do in the area. I'd highly recommend it to anyone thinking of visiting Argyll.

We have stayed at Melfort Village many times before, mostly in the Walled Garden, and we love it. We have never stayed in Upper Cooperage before. We missed the view down to the loch but that was perfectly made up for by the convenience of being in the heart of the village, making popping into reception or to the Shower of Herring a very short stroll.
As always the accommodation was spotlessly clean and well appointed. We didn’t find the bed in the main bedroom comfortable and the staff were only too happy to put the twin beds in the other room together for us. That of course meant we’d used extra bedding during our stay, but there was not the slightest hint that we were being awkward or inconveniencing them.
We’ll be back to Melfort again very soon, and will enjoy it whichever cottage we stay in.
