Great location, great facilities, and the staff were super friendly, helpful and knowledgable! Our only regret was not staying longer!! The place was clean, has a lovely pool/bar area, and they provide a good breakfast! ☺️

This place is all about the staff— I don’t think I’ve ever stayed anywhere with friendlier and more helpful staff and I’ve been in a lot of places. These guys are organised, man! Dayana, Alex, especially José and everyone I’ve forgotten made sure I had trips booked to and from San Gil, sorted my rafting for me, helped me get around town and were super responsive via What’sApp whenever I needed literally anything. They even make sure you don’t miss breakfast! You won’t find a friendlier and better team to base yourself in San Gil, so I can 10/10 recommend TripMonkey ♥️
As I said, it’s hard to fault the property at all because the team is so amazing, but be aware the rooms are very basic (but also very cheap therefore of course!) and there isn’t warm water in the doubles- but you can use the common shower and the water there is hot, so no problem. Maybe a small warm bedside light would be a good improvement? There’s quite a bit of smoking in the common area, so maybe not ideal if you’re sensitive towards that.

Amazing hostel with AMAZING staff and facilities.
The manager Joss is SO incredibly helpful and speaks excellent English which is super helpful when booking activities in the area.
Alex and Joss went above and beyond for a friend from the hostel who left her phone at the bus terminal accidentally and they were able to retrieve it and get it back for her from San Gil to Santa Marta… they are wonderful.
I extended my stay while there and wish I could have even longer!

Excelente servicio del personal Yoss que buen tipo, te guian, te recomiendan, arman los planes super seguros, la verdad cuando vuelva a Santander indudablemente Trip Monkey el hostal 10 de 10
lo unico que mejoraria un poco es la atenciòn del personal que atiende el bar en la noche no estaban pendiente si no con el grupo de amigos que estaban,

Todos os trabalhadores foram muito simpaticos e prestativos e me ajudaram em tudo. Achei a cama muito confortável, com privacidade e segurança. O hostel em areas em comum muito boas e boa internet.

El personal es único, apenas llegamos nos dieron un mapa con un resumen de todos los sitios de importancia turística donde nos señalaron incluso los precios de transporte y los planes turísticos, los precios de consumo en el Hotel son asequibles y la comida es muy muy sabrosa, de versad se siente un ambiente muy acogedor en el hotel
justamente nuestra habitación tenia agua fría, no es muy incomoda porque fuimos en veranos y hacia un poco de calor, pero cuando llegas de los paseos en el rio y estas todo mojado y con frio, se extraña mucho el tener agua caliente

Les lits sont en réalité des lits doubles et ça c’est incroyable! C’est propre les draps sentent bon c’est rare! L’ambiance est géniale ! Le staff est adorable !!! J’ai profité de la super cuisine équipée et de la piscine qui est juste parfaite !

I really liked the staff and thought the dorm beds with locker in bed was helpful and comfortable.
Person in bed next to me was drinking most of night in bed and the started snoring when he passed out.

Las instalaciones muy buenas, cómodas y su ubicación y el personal.
Lo único que no me gustó es el hecho que si vas a pagar con tarjeta te cobren 5% adicional, entiendo que el datáfono tiene un costo por servicio. Pero para un Hostel que recibe tanta gente en un lugar turístico considero que ese costo debería asumirlo el Hostel. De resto todo excelente.

The beds in the dorm are super spacious, you have curtains and a locker over your bed. The staff was super nice and told me for 10min all the things I can explore in the area. It was really nice to stay there!

The staff was superb... They were too good and helpful... If you are in San gil this is the best hostel to stay.... Also i would love to see more branches of hostel in other countries including India haha... Overall it was super experience
There was nothing that I hated...everyday if possible take small activities who all are staying in hostel for those like small games...

Perfect place, amazing stuff. They are lovely and very helpful in many ways. They will help you organize any activity you want and probably gonna force you to face your fear and do the bungee jump. And yes, DOOO IT. BEST THING EVER.

The locker in my room didn't close with the key, I tryed 2 matresses both were not very comphy, bathroom could be cleaner, especially the showers, no fresh air in dorm unless door is open

Amazing place! Probably one of the best hostels in Colombia for me. Staff is incredible, always helpful and up to talk with you. They take all the time you need to explain you all the super activities you can do around San Gil and organize everything for you. Nothing is missing in the hostel and the good atmosphere is always there! I strongly advise you to go and discover the Trip Monkey hostel for your trip in San Gil, you really won’t be disappointed with your stay!

Lovely chill hostel with everything you need and more.
The staff are all super friendly and happy to help in any way they can.
At check-in they provide you with a map that contains all the information you will need for your stay, including all activities available in the area, what to do and see in local towns and how much each activity costs. Your only worry then is, how to fit all these activities into your stay and the staff are more than happy to help you make a plan.
All the facilities were cleaned daily and they even provided good quality shampoo, conditioner and body wash in every shower room.
Wonderful place, wonderful people and one amazing adventure in San Gil.

Super comfortable and large bed, i wa lucky i was close to the aircon. Good wifi to work if you need to. Special thanks to the staff and specially Daya, she is very kind and helpful! They explain you all activities to do and they have plenty of tips about transportation hikes and restaurants 👍🏼

The staff was so nice and welcoming.
The place was very clean and orgnaized. And beautiful!
When we needed to leave our lauges for the rest of the day they didn't hestait and let ua even use the facilities of the hostel until we left in the evening. I defentley recommend this hostel!
