Togoro

Visited here as a single-traveller for 2 days skiing from Tokyo. Great little traditional Japanese hotel with super friendly staff. Very clean and tidy, shared bathrooms spotless. Quiet. Location is great- just steps away both from the bus stop from Iiyama and from one of the traditional village onsens. Walk 5mins into the village shops and 10mins up the hill to get to the main ski lift. Owner provided discount code for both ski rental and lift pass. Breakfast pre-skiing every day was beautifully presented, varied, traditional Japanese food. Highly recommended if you want a traditional Japanese stay.

The service was exceptional! The room was very spacious and very clean. The location was excellent, very close the to the bus stop, shuttle service and cafes. We loved our stay at Togoro and would definitely recommend

The towels were small and thin which was something we simply got used to. Additional pillows would also have been of great benefit.

The hosts were amazing; so friendly and helpful. Their English is perfect and they helped ship our ski bags back to the airport. I would highly recommend the breakfast; we got it everyday and it’s a truly fantastic way to start the day. Our room was comfortable and clean, the private toilet and sink were great. There’s shared showers & bath (split men & women) which are open morning and evening. As the guest house is so small we always had this to ourselves. The location is fantastic, round the corner to the bus station (for the Nowaza Liner & Ski bus), plus an Onsen and coffee shops. If you’re looking for a real Japanese experience I would highly recommend.

Amazing breakfast - best food I ate in my travels - everything had complex flavours and variations each day! Such an amazing way to start the day!

Can’t blame Togoro for the lack of japow 😟
