A short walk to the beach and close to the Kiawah River. Everything inside including kitchen cabinets and appliances were working and clean. The home overall is in good shape and obviously cared for. The screened in porch got a lot of use from us and the wrap around deck easily allows small kids or dogs freedom to move around. There are some extra beach toys in case the kids need them. There is a bit of bus traffic on the adjacent road during the day and evening for the clubhouse next door. So if you are an extremely light sleeper be aware of that. I would recommend to friends who are interested in staying on Kiawah. Sandy was very responsive and a great host.

I had a lovely, peaceful six week stay in this comfy cottage on Kiawah Island. It was my first time on Kiawah and loved the location - easy walk to the beach, grocery store and restaurants less than two miles away, and easy access to bike trails. The cottage sits in a very quiet neighborhood lush with tropical trees and plants overlooking a lagoon. The nature trail to the beach is just gorgeous! While the kitchen is small, I cooked in it multiple times each day and found it had everything I needed. Very comfy couches and beds. I liked the layout of the cottage and wow … the outdoor spaces are wonderful. Spent many, many hours on the screened porch! Sandy is a great host and checked on me every once in awhile to ensure that my trip was going well. Hoping to return to Kiawah again - just loved it!

We had a great time at this location on Kiawah - located such a short walk to the beach, its perfect! Loved riding bikes all around the island and the dog-friendly cottage!

We enjoyed staying at The Treehouse, a cottage at Sparrow Pond. It was comfortable and cozy. It is in a beautiful, natural setting on Kiawah Island.

Homey cottage with a gated deck and screened porch, this is perfect location for kids, dogs, and friends. Very comfy and has obviously seen lots of family time. I appreciated the cabinets stocked with kitchen essentials, the storage space full of beach equipment and sand toys. While not ocean front, the waves can be heard at night, and the 10 minute walk through the woods to the beach seemed like the perfect amount of exercise. I loved drinking coffee on the screened porch and watching the egrets and great blue heron fishing for dinner in the pond… Loved staying a month here and hope to book again.

Perfect location close to dining , minutes to the beach and shopping. We enjoyed sitting in the screen porch hearing the ocean and catching a glimpse of it. Having beach chairs there was great as well. We will be back to the treehouse!

Layout and space good for a family, beds and linens were very nice! Kitchen and cooking supplies are very basic ....if you are cooking your meals there you have to run dishwasher often as plates and bowls number aprox. 6

We normally vacation on Cape San Blas, for several weeks but were looking for something different due to the ridiculous increase in prices and want of a change of scenery. The treehouse fit the bill and was everything we had hoped. Very nice cottage. The neighborhood with the ponds, trees, and wild life were beautiful. We saw a variety of Herons and Egrets along with several alligators. The beach was fabulous. Just like Florida. We will certainly do our best to return. Thank you for a great experience, Sandy.

#1 I rarely find a dog friendly rental that doesn’t charge extra for bringing your pet. Bed sheets to cover the sofas and dog bowls provided. #2 Kiawah has a huge section of beach designated for off-leash between Beach club & Ocean Course. Drive to Beach Club, public parking is across from the marked “Authorized Vehicles only” beach access. Walk that path, then still leashed head left passing the members only Beach Club lounge chairs, look for off-leash posted sign . This was our daily morning beach walk!#3 Great location for day trips to Charleston and other Islands like Folly Beach.#4 The screened in porch with dining table was used every day for breakfast, coffee time and happy hour.#5 Best meals… Fresh fish and shrimp from Rosebank Farms Market- cooked at the cottage

The owners were great to deal with - very responsive and provided lots of suggestions of things to do. Loved the wrap around deck and looking out over the lagoon. Easy walk to beach. The positives: Check in was easy, as we arrived late at night and were able to find the lock box. Manager was accommodating about letting us come a day early due to snowy weather coming over the mountains. Property looked as described in the pictures, and was clean. Internet was 60-70 mbps. We appreciated that the property was pet friendly and very accommodating for small dogs. The not so positives: The property is very small for the amount of furniture that is there, and there is not much clearance between pieces. Pieces have sharp edges, and the chair rail is SHARP. We had cuts and bruises from walking around, and it would be dangerous to a small child if their temple was at chair rail height. It could benefit from having less or smaller furniture. The kitchen was worse than pictured on closer inspection, and the stove is so slanted that it was difficult to use. Owner’s food was left in the cabinets and fridge, so we have to remind everyone about what to/not to eat. There were instructions everywhere that repeated instructions in the packet that the owner requires to be signed, to the point that it was distracting and hard to get away from. We were also texted by the owner so many times during our vacation, including persistently during our last meal of the trip, reminding us to clean up (beds, towels, trash, dishes, wash rugs) before we leave and leave a review. It was a more extensive list vs fee than most, but we left everything tidy. We go on vacation to get away, and the constant interruptions were unwelcome. Our biggest issue arose the second morning, when we woke up with no water. It had gotten down to 31F for a few hours overnight, and as there was no insulation under the unit, the water pipes froze. Despite notes to not contact the local property manager, as the owners would be charged, we contacted them after being unable to reach anyone for help. We heard back an hour later, and they were able to send a plumber later to repair the pipe, which had been patched at least 6 times in the 3-foot section that was removed, so pipes freezing were known before our trip. We were without water for 12 hours, and were asked to return early from our day trip into Charleston to deal with the plumber (turns out the local property manager came, as well). The owner offered no compensation for the inconvenience of not being able to utilize the property for half a day. Other hosts have been much easier to deal with.

We loved our stay here! The house was exactly as described and you definitely feel at home as soon as you walk in the door. Sandra was wonderful, everything was so easy! We loved having nice beach chairs and even beach towels provided. Can’t wait to return.

Loved spending 2 weeks during the holidays! My husband and I with our adult daughter and 2 dogs enjoyed the quite neighborhood where is this house is located. Everything you need is there- beach chairs, beach towels, extra dog bowls, dishes, pots and pans. We rented bikes from Alligator rentals. The weather was perfect for end of Dec, and beginning of Jan. Sandy checked in with us often to make sure everything was ok and recommended places to see and eat, The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is the kitchen is quite small. Only one cook at a time. During non covid times it wouldn't matter because you would be eating out most of the time. But with covid a lot of the restaurants were closed for lunch.

Our family's vacation on Kiawah at the this lovely cottage was wonderful. The island itself is truly beautiful for walking and bike riding. The many trails through the maritime forest and the marshes, past lagoons, and golf courses are breathtaking. The beach was a short and easy walking distance. We especially enjoyed bike riding to the Kiawah River during low tide to see the dolphins feeding.! The cottage itself is so cozy (with wonderful art work by the way) and well stocked with everything you need for a comfortable visit. Having beach toys, chairs, umbrellas, carts, towels, was so helpful. We grilled out several times while swinging on the swing and enjoyed many meals on the screened in porch . Our dog loved this vacation, too! The owner is very communicative and helpful. We hope to get back here again sooner rather than later!

Aside from the rainy weather we had the first three days we had a great stay! Improvements in the property a big plus over previous stays.

We loved this villa on Kiawah. It was so homey and comfortable. Close to the beach, pool and off island adventure. We would definitely chose it again!

This is a very comfortable and well equipped house that is perfect for a family that wants to bring its dog on vacation. The elevated wraparound deck gave our dogs freedom and kept them safe. It is also a close and easy walk to the beach with the dogs.

We loved our stay here! Sandra provided everything we needed and was very responsive. Well stocked kitchen, laundry in the house, beach cart and chairs…I could go on. We will for sure rent here again!
