Location overlooking the Douro above the docks for riverboats. 3 bedrooms 3 bathrooms and a tired but well stocked kitchen. Huge terrace with awnings for the 40 degree heat we had. Owners parents onsite with fresh pastis de nata and buns every morning.
The sharp turn into the top parking area! Really could use a mirror to show traffic on the narrow blind road.

I loved how homey the place was! They were so incredibly nice when we first arrived and we felt very welcomed. The view was absolutely incredible! We were able to have the pool to ourselves and enjoyed looking out at the view while we relaxed. They even brought out a complimentary port tonic which was delicious. At night, they had a deck of cards and we were able to play a game while the sun set and we drank our wine. It was perfect.
If you’re there without a car, it’s up a VERY steep hill. We know it was going to be steep, but not that steep. With all of our luggage (2 rolling carry ons) and our baby’s stroller and car seat… it was terrible the first time we went up. We did not walk up again, but the only taxi man we could find in the middle of August (where I know many locals go on holiday), kept charging us 10 euros for a 3 min drive so that was a shame. But I can’t fault the place, if it wasn’t so high up, you wouldn’t get such a beautiful view!!

We loved the river review from our large apartment and the way the doors opened out onto a deck are where we could soak in the vast views. It was extremely hot weather when we stayed but indoors was nice and cool.

Exceptional View and terrace. good location, walking distance to village center (very steep return), bed quality is good, house remained fresh despite high temp outside
Very bad acoustic insulation-we could hear the shower of neighbours, people talking outside, and of course the village annual Festas which had very loud music until 2:30am…old sliding windows do not block noise even sleeping with earplugs…very little equipment in kitchen (pots, cutlery…), old swimming pool, pump equipment is noisy. Tough Parking with gravel and pits on a steep hill, no shade.
