This really was a great house and the location was fantastic! Only a few complaints: the ice maker on the bottom level was broken (I did call but no one ever came to fix it) and a few burners on the gas stove weren’t working. Overall I would recommend this house!

This was our 2nd year at this house and, apart from the weather, it was very enjoyable. It is a wonderful place to be - our group has rented 3 places in Corolla and this is by far the best. We didn't watch much TV as they had converted to ROKU, but that just meant more card playing and other activities.

As we pulled up to the rental at 6pm Saturday evening (couldn't check in sooner) I immediately noticed the rotted wood on the outside pillars and rusted nails on the deck. I was optimistic that the inside would be nicer. As we entered the house all the guest including myself were very satisfied with space and the bedrooms. As we unpacked it became clear that the cleaning people did a HORRIBLE job. The floors were sticky/black, two of the bedrooms had large amounts of blood on the sheets with one of the rooms having blood on the nightstand. Tired from the 8 hour road trip we buckled down and began deep cleaning the house and washing all linens. As I was cleaning the bathroom on the 3rd floor by the kitchen I observed black mold on the air conditioning vent above the toilet. We found toys, crumbs, and food packets under all the furniture along with piles of sand. After cleaning and settling in we decided to watch TV as a family. The surround sound is very old and does not work so you need to blast the TV which is still hard to hear because of the large ceilings. The next day we explored the pool area which is very nice (minus the grill which is an absolute health hazard). The grill grates are so badly rusted we needed to use tinfoil to cook. The house came with two empty propane tanks for the grill so off to the store to get one filled. The pool was great and we paid for the heat option. The pool guy arrived Thursday and shut the heat off (did not tell us he was doing this) which we discovered as the pool was too cold to use on Friday. We paid $300 to have heat for a week (Saturday to Saturday not Saturday to Thursday). He also put chemicals in the hot tub but did not clean the scum line out of it. Hot tub needs repair. Also the ice machine on the ground floor does not work. If you are looking for a place that can house 8 people comfortably and is close to the beach then this will get the job done. If you are looking for a well kept clean home this is not.

The house was perfect size. We have rented it for next year but there were some things I would like addressed. The wall vent on main living area on third floor was covered in dust. Mold growing on ceiling in half bath on third floor. Hot tub only half jets work. There should be a open pantry for things like spices etc.

We were a party of 15 - the communal areas easily accommodated us - the 7 year old loved the nook to play his games while being surrounded by the family. Everyone loved having their own bedroom and private bath. Best place in the house was the crow’s nest! Could use insulated plastic glasses for the pool, some smaller sauce pans, more kitchen towels. Overall, a fabulous spot!

Booking with Beach Realty was a breeze! Getting into the property initially was a challenge but our property manager Karen came through in the clutch. The house was everything pictured and more! It was clean and spacious. With 16 people of all ages we never felt crowded. Throw in our experience with the Outer Banks Boil Company and Jessica from OBX Massage Therapy and the trip could not have been better. But we sure will try to top it next year.

We found Big Sea just as presented and enjoyed our week there very much. Everything was clean and in good working order. Takes a little while to figure out the TVs (more specific instructions could be helpful) but who's at the beach to watch TV right? We did get it figured out after a little experimentation. All rooms were beautifully decorated and the kitchen exceeded expectations...event 2 dishwashers and loads of nice silverware.

Lots of trash left under the steps from previous occupants. Some things that need tending to- missing post caps, torn screens, loose bathroom fixtures. But for the most part it was an overall great experience.

The process to rent the home was very simple. I thought the home was in great condition and was as pictured. I was pleasantly surprised with the cleanliness of the home knowing that pets are allowed. The only thing I would suggest is adding a few more, medium-sized sauce pans to cook with. That was the only thing lacking, in my opinion. The beds were VERY comfortable and all had great mattresses. For the pet owners, there are a bunch of small thorny "things" around the exterior that are most likely from the shrubbery. They don't feel good when you step on them and they were stuck to my dog's feet, so be careful. There were only a few surfaces that should have been cleaned a bit more such as the window sills and dust on top of the dressers. I would definitely return and recommend to others. It was a great stay.

This house was a great place for a big family gathering and trip. Plenty of room and space for hanging out plus privacy. Great location for the beach. Great for family vacation

The cleaning crew just walks through the home and throws everything out, not acceptable for a one-week vacation house. There should also be a broom as the vacuum cleaners did not pick anything up. The pool chemicals were checked while there, but why wasn’t the pool cleaned? There was a ton of sand at the bottom of the pool when we arrived. The room that housed the bunk beds had no A/C coming into the room, made it miserable for all the kids and, in turn the parents, as the kids needed to find other places to sleep. Would never stay here again.

Big Sea was a wonderful dog friendly home. Perfect top floor layout for plenty of family time. Private baths for each room is ideal. We had a cold, wet week but the heated pool was perfect. The house is so close to the beach and made it ideal for short or long walks on the beach.

It was great - the house was in a great location (multiple walks to the beach every day), lots of space to spread out. Loved playing music on surround sound and playing pool! There were some minor maintenance issues (TP holders off walls, doors broken,... and a rat, which the exterminator caught). Loved playing music on surround sound and playing pool! There were some minor maintenance issues (TP holders off walls, doors broken,... and a rat, which the exterminator caught). We had a great trip! Perfect for larger groups because the bedrooms are large and each with their own bathroom. A quick walk (one house back from the ocean) to the beach, quick drive or bike ride to the grocery store and fun at Tim Buck II. Highly recommend!

Family Vacation
Beautiful house, exceptional space so no one feels crowded. Kitchen needs updated cookware, needs can opener and some type of sink garbage disposal and immense deep cleaner. Overall the house was great for our family vacation. It was my husband and I, our 3 children and their spouses and 3 grandchildren.

The description on the website is very accurate. The photos don’t do the house justice, it’s so beautiful and open. Great views! Close to beach access. The kitchen if fully loaded. No need to bring those extras that some houses don’t have. The bedrooms and bathrooms are very spacious! The pool and cabana area is better than pictured. The house seems well maintained, although it could’ve been cleaner upon checkin. We always clean ourselves anyway. We had a couple problems that were fixed very quickly. I would recommend this house over and over! We will return to this property, in 9 years of visiting Corolla, we never found a house we wanted to re-rent until this one. We just love the Ocean Sands area.
While here, we enjoyed the new restaurant called Bernies Brother, Lighthouse Bagels, Sooeys BBQ and Philly Cheesesteak.Corolla Village Market is a shop full of local artists goods. Such cute stuff!! Support the locals!

First time with this rental company. We were told check-in was pushed back to 6pm for first day so they can "extra clean" the house due to the pandemic. Totally fine with us however when we arrived it was the worst cleaning job I have ever seen in my 10 years in OBX. I called to have them come back and clean again. After both cleaning trips sheets were definitely not changed. We paid for heated pool and didn't work half the week. House itself is amazing but worst realty we dealt with in 10 trips.

Rental experience was awesome!!! But places that big need an intercom system of some kind. Should provide dishwashing powder, since you want the dishwasher loaded when we leave & at least have toilet paper in some bathrooms when guest first arrive. Need dish towels in towel packages.

Our family had a short midweek last minute getaway to this lovely home. We chose it for the amenities because we were traveling with newborns and knew the older kids would need entertainment while mom and dad tended to the babies.
The home was great and everything we needed. Plenty of room for our family of six.
