Characterful cottage a stones throw from river Dart with front & back patios
Holly Cottage è una deliziosa casa vacanza piena di carattere e solo a due passi dal fiume Dart gestito esclusivamente da Dart Valley Cottages. Ospitato in oltre 400 anni Holly cottage è pet friendly e può ospitare comodamente 5 su 3 camere, con un bruciatore di registro nel soggiorno per gli inverni più freddo e patio anteriore e posteriore per l'estate. Uno dei pub del villaggio Il Ferry Boat Inn si trova in fondo alla strada insieme al Cafe Anchorstone e ai traghetti per Dartmouth e Greenway. I bambini ameranno i granchi dalla banchina o giocando a The Ham, ci sono una scelta di 2 parcheggi a circa 400 metri di distanza.
Alloggio:
La porta d'ingresso vi conduce in un piccolo portico e ingresso nel salotto con le sue numerose caratteristiche originali tra cui: mobili antichi, camino in pietra con stufa a legna (primo cesto di tronchi fornito ottobre e ndash; marzo), pavimento in legno lucido, comodi posti a sedere , TV e DVD. Un paio di gradini portano alla cucina ben attrezzata / sala da pranzo con tavolo e sedie in pino, unità di legno lavate a calce, cucina elettrica, lavastoviglie, frigorifero e forno a microonde.
Al piano superiore: Ci sono tre camere da letto, tutte ben arredate, una camera da letto matrimoniale con letto in ferro, una camera doppia e una camera singola. Il bagno di famiglia ha un bagno con doccia, wc e lavabo.

Esterno: Sul retro del cottage c'è un giardino cortile pavimentato su due terrazze con mobili da giardino e vista sul fiume. Nella parte anteriore del cottage c'è un patio riparato con mobili da giardino e vista sul fiume fino a Greenway. a causa della posizione delle proprietà non è presente un parcheggio in loco, tuttavia è possibile scegliere tra due parcheggi a circa 300 m di distanza (ripida salita fino al parcheggio di The Level) ed è possibile parcheggiare all'esterno per caricare / scaricare. I bambini sono i benvenuti, ma attenzione ai gradini ripidi nel giardino.

Il pub del villaggio The Ferry Boat Inn è a 1 minuto a piedi lungo la strada (non preoccuparti non è noto per essere rumoroso) sul molo si trova anche l'Anchorstone Cafe e traghetti per Greenway e Dartmouth. Nella parte superiore del villaggio troverai il Leone Rosso che funge anche da negozio del paese e ufficio postale. In The Lane troverai The Ham; il grande campo da gioco erboso e il parco giochi.

We had a wonderful stay at this charming holiday cottage in Dittisham. It’s full of character and surprisingly well equipped, especially considering its age — everything we needed was right at hand, and it felt like a real home-from-home.
The location is absolutely incredible. Dittisham is such a special place, and the views from the cottage are genuinely lovely. Waking up and looking down over the River Dart was a highlight of our stay.
A small note for anyone with mobility issues: the cottage sits in a steep, traditional part of the village. You can pull up outside to unload, which is very handy, but the car does need to be parked a little way away afterwards. This was absolutely fine for us, but worth bearing in mind if you have limited mobility.
Because we visited in March, the outdoor areas were just coming out of winter and could use a little seasonal maintenance — nothing that detracted from our stay, and I imagine they’re gorgeous later in the year.
Overall, we loved our time here. It’s a cosy, well-kept cottage in a breathtaking location, perfect for anyone wanting a peaceful and authentic Dittisham experience. We’d happily return.

We’ve just had a wonderful break at Holly Cottage. Perfect location with the renowned Ferry Boat Inn and Anchorstone cafe within walking distance. Views of the River Dart and the lovely sounds of wildlife all around. It’s a spacious cottage with a well equipped kitchen, and a handy washer and dryer which came in useful with the wet weather. We’ll definitely be staying here again.

Holly cottage is in the most beautiful location. The cottage is a little tired and even in the sunny days was cold in the evening we took wood and kindling, this made a real difference. Garden furniture at the rear of cottage in poor condition. Despite this its location made up for it… we had a fabulous 5 days.

Thank you for a great week in Dittisham - first time we visited was 2003! We love it.
Just wanted to share a few bits I have thought of during the week.
Holly cottage was great!
Location, new bathroom, new carpet upstairs, washing machine
and dryer are great. The added outside toilet a bonus (didn’t use the shower but having the extra toilet was good). Good to have the dishwasher, new oven and hob.
Cottage was always warm and cosy but despite the instructions on the wall and in the book - we could not adjust the heaters. All ok as it was quite mild and very warm upstairs. One of the controls in the lounge is not attached. Storage heaters are historically quite uncontrollable.
Just a few things that might be easy fixes...
*new pillows on both beds in the twin room (current ones are very old and flat)
*update info on rubbish collection - notes say Saturday but some was taken Monday and then again Friday - no big deal - Bin man said he does Mon +Fri with Saturday collection was summer only. Someone took a bag on Wed too.
*light bulb in fridge
*light bulb above the hob
*light switch on lamp as you enter the double bedroom needs looking at as it is not working very well.
Bigger things which would be nice to have - new kitchen would be great and windows fitting a bit better although I get the age of the cottage etc. The lounge window does blow a draught.
The back patio and furniture would be lovely with some TLC - would have been great to sit out there but it is very unloved and the furniture is moldy. The two brushes are broken and have been left.
I also cleaned inside the cutlery holders and fridge and the top of bin, round the sink - there were some caked on spills which had been there a long while by the looks of things. The dishwasher needed salt and rinse aid - just little things in case you want feedback.
