Beautiful detached house in the mountains in Astrikas
Il mio alloggio è ad Astrikas, un piccolo villaggio di montagna con circa 150 abitanti, vicino a Kolymbari. Amerai il mio alloggio per la splendida vista e l'improbabile calma. Il mio alloggio è adatto a coppie, anche gli avventurieri che viaggiano da soli e gli amici a quattro zampe (animali domestici) sono i benvenuti.
Astrikas è un piccolo villaggio con circa 150 abitanti. Si trova tra acri di uliveti ad un'altitudine di 200 metri a sud-ovest della più grande città costiera di Kolymbari. Astrikas è nota per la sua fabbrica di olio d'oliva Biolia, dove viene prodotto olio d'oliva biologico e di alta qualità. La vista dal parco della fabbrica sul retro è sull'incantevole paesaggio e sull'interessante villaggio di Rokka e sui suoi scavi (questo deve essere visto, stupendo!).
Amerai il mio alloggio a causa della vista meravigliosa e della pace improbabile.
L'ampia terrazza rialzata con due lettini offre infiniti momenti di relax nella propria zona privata. Godrai i tuoi pasti nella confortevole area salotto e sala da pranzo con una vista mozzafiato da esso sull'incantevole paesaggio.
All'interno della casa troverete una cucina completamente attrezzata, un comodo bagno con doccia, WC e bidet e una spaziosa camera da letto.
La posizione è ideale per esplorare la parte nord-occidentale di Creta, combinando una tranquilla vita rurale con la vicinanza a splendide spiagge e al porto veneziano di Chania.

the property is large and has great facilities. perfect for a couple , i really loved this place and can't complain as its great value for money and well worth the drive from the coast. Vrbo mistrakenly placed the property drop pin in the town of Kolymbari but was infact 15 minutes in land from the location they stated, this really inconvenienced us as we had family staying in the town and needed to be nearby , this was Vrbo's fault , not the property owner and will be making a complaint to them . the Property owner was pleasant to deal with and helpful and my only complaint would be that i had to contact someone else to get the key to the property but was not getting messages / calls back on whatsapp so felt a bit stranded at 1am with no key to the place, would have been easier if they had a security box and provide me a code to get the key myself as its not a good system to rely on neighbour/ friends to meet up on arrival . apart from that every thing was very good. i would actually stay again since its such a lovely accommodation and amazing location in the hills.

This is a wonderful cottage nestled in the hills of Crete surrounded by olive trees. The place is immaculately clean, and comes with plentiful amenities such as a full kitchen, a washing machine, an outdoor shower, and AC in the bedroom. The AC worked extremely well to keep the bedroom cool even though it was 95+F during the week. The kitchen was great with everything you could want (fridge/freezer/stove/etc). I didnt use it as I was eating out.
I booked this place thinking it was closer to downtown Kolymbari...I'm new to VRBO and didn't realize the pin shown for the property on VRBO is not the actual location. I was attending a conference at the Orthodox Academy of Crete in Kolymbari which was a 20 minute drive through the mountains. I realize now the description does mention it's location in the hills (but I didn't know what that meant at that time) and I should have clarified this before booking. So my only negative was that it was not closer to Kolymbari and the OAC.
I think this would be a great base of operations on Crete, but a car would be required to get around.

We arrived on Wednesday 6th of September. We collected the rental car and headed towards our destination. We had already been advised by the owner that we would be met at the start of the village by her representative Michalis. The owner had already given coordinates and Michalis contact number.
When we arrived at the village we rang him and he duly met us. Michalis guided us up to the property and shown us around.
The villa is absolutely gorgeous. The back drop of the mountains in the distance is just perfect. The village was peaceful.
Inside there was loads of finishing to cater for all your needs.
Loads of patio to sunbathe in, sun beds! This villa is just lovely. Washing machine etc, air con!
Having lived in Corfu & Kefalonia we was use to mingling with the locals as we use to live in a local enclosed village.
If you are looking for isolation, peace and quiet with the mountains as your back drop, then take a look at this Villa.
Myself and my wife loved everything about it.
