Stay SAKURA Kyoto Higashi Hongan-ji I

Best hotel of our trip! Located close on foot to Kyoto Station as well as all relevant buss lines we intended to use for things such as Eikando Temple and the Adashino bamboo forest. The room was really comfortable with great AC and some fantastic beds. Will 100% book again the next time we're in Kyoto!

La posizione è perfetta per spostarsi anche fuori Kyoto. Piuttosto pulita. Molto gentili e volenterosi nel cercare soluzioni. Una buona scelta decisamente. Buono il rapporto qualità/prezzo

Davvero tutto molto piccolo. Gli strumenti per cucinare erano insufficienti ma su richiesta vengono forniti. Molto parlano pochissimo l'inglese.

The room is quite spacious for a Kyoto hotel. The beds are very comfortable and there are USB charging ports. The little kitchen is imperfect but convenient. The split bathroom with Japanese-style bath area was really nice. The staff speak both Japanese and English. There are multiple konbini nearby, as well as a supermarket, subway stop, bus stop, etc.

The wifi. Oh my goodness, the wifi. It is unusable. This has been reported multiple times by multiple guests for a long time, and yet nothing has been done. I was unable to complete an important video call because of this. The kitchen is nice but extremely lacking. There is no table in the room, so you have to eat whatever you cooked on the bed or the floor. There are only two little saucers, no bowls or actual plates to eat from. There are no dish towels. Surely the hotel is not expecting you to eat directly from the pot you cooked in, while sitting on the clean white sheets, with no towel to clean up the inevitable spills? This is a recipe for disaster. The fridge is actually a freezer, so the groceries I bought all ended up frozen. It seems crazy to provide a freezer but not a fridge. The laundry facilities are fairly expensive and wildly inefficient. The washers are FULL of lint and the dryers leave your clothes damp. I was frustrated that I paid money to use a dryer that didn’t work, and I had to hang my wet clothes up over the bath in my room instead. This hotel is too expensive for these problems to exist, especially when so many other past guests have mentioned them. I think you could get an AirBnB with much better facilities for roughly the same cost.
