We walked from the house to downtown which was nice. The house has a strong AC which you need most of the year in southern GA. They also provided cable TV that not everyone does anymore. I would upgrade the TV to a smart TV. TCL Roku TV is what we use in our STR's. I agree with the others about it being time to replace the mattress. Rain at night is noisy as there are metal window overhangs that the rain hits and makes it difficult to sleep. There are nice stainless appliances but no ice maker. The fenced yard is nice if you're bringing your pet. The front porch deck has a weak spot that will need to be addressed in the near future. The few issue we had could be easily fixed. It met all our needs and I would recommend the place.

Overall very nice, quaint and quiet...great location..definitely needs a new bed though...

Mermaid Cottage is deceptively spacious. Shower had qreat water pressure. Enjoyed cofee and reading on deck and dog loved the fenced yard. A couple of the houses around the corner are a little run down but no safety concerns. Everyone was friendly. If I'm back in St Mary's/Amelia Island area, I will book again.

My wife and I stayed here for about a week while meeting with the builder for our new home in St Marys. It was spotlessly clean, very comfortable, and the location is convenient to everything in the town. We would definitely stay here again and recommend it to anyone who desires a relaxing location in the heart of St Marys!

This cottage is amazing! The only negative part was the bed, its not comfortable for us, very worn. The neighborhood and surrounding area is fantastic

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Mermaid Cottage. It was so quaint and comfortable. It was clean and had everything we needed. It was close enough to town that we enjoyed walking when we went to see the sites. Check in/out was a breeze. We will definitely stay here again.

We enjoyed our stay at the Merry Mermaid. Everything was as described in the listing, and it was a quick walk to shops and restaurants. We were at the end of a long road trip and a bit too exhausted to do much exploring, but we would love to go back!

This was our first visit to St Mary’s and we were pleased with our stay in the merry mermaid cottage. The cottage was great and had everything we needed. Close to everything in St Mary’s. You can walk to downtown (only a few blocks). We would stay there again. Easy to communicate with owner.

This little cottage is in a great location close to parks and all activities with a fenced in yard for our 3 dogs. It was spotless, nicely furnished and updated with everything you could possibly need. The backyard and porch are shaded so it was a great place to relax even in the afternoon. The owner was very responsive to our messages and provided text messages during our stay to ensure we were able to access the property smoothly. We highly recommend this property.

What a great cottage. The furnishings were great and the decor was just as awesome. Comfortable furniture and bed. The deck area & fenced in yard was indeed a great bonus. Prompt communication and responses from the owner. Neighborhood is great & quiet. Walks to the waterfront daily.

A beautiful, cozy little cottage close to the waterfront and historic downtown St. Marys in a quiet neighborhood. It is well stocked with all the essentials. We would definitely stay here again!

St Mary's is a wonderful city. If you want to be near the intercoastal waterway (including the islands, Brunswick, and Savannah) and you prefer a small property, I encourage you to consider this cottage. It works - living there is easy, and the interior decor just feels happy. I plan to return and look forward to the same wonderful experience.

This was such a cute little cottage! I only stayed for one night, but enjoyed every second. The back porch/yard area is awesome! The cedar tree in the middle of the deck is just so cool. Loved the decorations here. Feels like a home.

Barbara was an excellent host! She allowed us to check in a little early to accommodate our schedule. The cottage was perfect for us! (It would be great for a small family it has a twin pullout in the front room) everything was clean and smelled amazing. Location is perfect! Very quiet at night. I will definitely keep this place in mind when coming back to St.Mary’s!!until next time!! ❤️

We enjoyed our stay at the Mermaid Cottage so much! Saint Marys is beautiful, quaint, and charming! We fell in love! We were in town to celebrate our 1 year wedding anniversary and explore Cumberland Island. The island was so majestic! I highly recommend staying here and visiting this beautiful town! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Mermaid Cottage! It was tastefully decorated, had everything we needed and was very clean. The location was on a very quiet street and we liked that too! Would definitely stay there again on our next visit to St Marys.

We were looking for a nice, quaint, comfortable stay that was close to the coast that wouldn’t be overwhelmed with holiday tourism but still offer amenities and be in proximity to areas we wanted to visit in our electric bikes - we found the perfect spot at the Merry Mermaid Cottage! We loved the unique and lovely antique furnishings of the home (the upright chairs in living room are actually comfortable recliners), the fun quirky decor and mermaid theme carried throughout, and liked the updates and style of home. It was just the right place for us this year as we had leisure mornings and a sweet time away celebrating our anniversary and making plans for the year to come. It was a short drive (or biking distance) to downtown area along waterfront and we enjoyed perusing a bookstore, some hot chocolate and browsing at the Market on the Square, learned some interesting tidbits at the Submarine Museum and strolled thru the waterfront park at sunset for some stunning sunset skies over the marina. It was interesting to see where ferry launches for Cumberland Island and being heading out for days of camping and the park was full of Christmas trees lit up and sponsored by local orgs. We drove to St Simons Island and explored one day on our e-bikes, driving past Jekyll Island entrance and beautiful Coast waterways all around. It was nice to retreat out of the crowds back to the Merry Mermaid Cottage in the evening! We hope to return and recommend you give it a try. Communications with host were great and prompt and we felt supported for anything we might need or any questions we had.

We enjoyed our stay at the Merry Mermaid cottage. Barbara was easy to communicate with. The online description and photos are accurate. The cottage is clean, well-stocked, and fun. The check-in was easy as was the check-out.

My husband and I really enjoyed our stay and slept well in one of the most comfortable beds yet. The proximity to town was easily walkable and our pups loved the fenced yard. We highly recommend.
