Wonderful home, very nicely appointed, and so well equipped! Highly recommend to anyone seeking a home away from home. My wife and I along with our 3 daughters and their spouses stayed at this paradise for a week. Pauline and her husband were very responsive before, during, and after our stay. This house has everything you could want and exceeded our expectations. You literally only need your food, drinks, and clothing. The kitchen is completely stocked with everything you need to prepare meals. The place has loads of space, is beautiful, and the backyard is an oasis with a BBQ, large patio area, pond, waterfall and gardens. You can walk to everywhere in Chester, and the street is very quiet and private. Short drives find you in Lunenburg, Mahone Bay, or Blue Rocks. The owners maintain this property to a very high level and it shows. This property comes with my highest recommendation.

Our two families were very comfortable during our week at the lovely Chester Garden House. We were a party of nine including five teenage boys! Lots of room in the house for everyone to spread out in when we needed our own space yet several gathering spots when we wanted to be together (living room, family room and sun room). The eat-in kitchen was fully equipped with everything we needed and the separate dining room was appreciated by the adults! Bedrooms were comfortable and there were lots of linens, towels, etc). The house is ideally located for walking to the village of Chester for shops, cafes, pool, park, grocery store). The yard offers a lovely spot to sit and enjoy an outdoor meal or coffee while listening to the frogs in the pond! Lots of day trips are possible (beaches, Tancook Island, Mahone Bay & Lunenburg, kayaking, etc). Our host, Pauline, was very easy to deal with and always reachable. We would definitely recommend this property!

Our stay at Chester Garden House was very enjoyable. We found dealing with Pauline very easy (she was always responsive to emails etc.) and the house was clean, comfortable (especially the beds), well equipped, (plenty of towels and in the way of kitchen everything one would need) and the house is situated in a wonderful location (walkable to the main street, kids playground and Lido pool) and on a lovely large property. Some great restaurants in town Kiwi (for lunch or breakfast) and The Rope Loft (great view and decent food for a pub! The Haddock was delicious. Would would recommend this house in a heartbeat.

We stayed at the Chester Garden House for a week in July to celebrate my parents 50th anniversary. In total, there were 10 people staying at the house ranging in age from 5 to 78. The house was perfect! It gave us plenty of room to be together but also plenty of space to be apart when we needed too. The gardens are gorgeous. We had family pictures taken there by a photographer we hired from Mahone Bay and they turned out beautifully. Chester is a beautiful town and a great base for seeing the entire area. The kids with us spent HOURS at the beach looking for hermit crabs. The town salt water pool was a big draw and a trip to Tancook Island to look for sea glass is definitely worth it. Pauline was wonderful and responsive and a pleasure to work with. I am already plotting how I can get back!

The Chester Garden House is everything thing you would want and more. We enjoyed sitting by the pond watching the fish and frogs. The gardens are well manicured and make for an excellent place to have morning coffee. The house itself is beautiful, spacious, and clean. The location is perfect, within walking distance of downtown Chester and the harbor, and within driving distance of the beach, vineyards, and plenty of history. We highly recommend this gorgeous spot in Chester.

highly recommended house on the hill in Chester. we loved the floor plan for privacy or entertaining. the gardens are just superb. the frogs in the pond were hard to leave. super relaxing experience. well kept house with lots of light and beautiful decor.

We recently rented the garden house for the month of June. Our family and friends were delighted with our choice. The house was well equipped, spacious,comfortable,spotless and perfectly designed for entertaining groups of people. The garden and grounds were well maintained with mature trees and flowering shrubs. The small waterfall and frog pond fascinated the children and the backyard was such an enjoyable space to relax with our friends. The owners were quick to respond to any questions we might have had and were very accommodating and concerned that everything was as expected. The village of Chester is charming, the restaurants are excellent and the location lends itself to easy access to other areas on the south shore waiting to be discovered. A wonderful vacation and highly recommended.

We rented the Chester Garden House for our immediate family reunion. In total we had 4 couples and three small children -- the house fit all of our needs perfectly. The rooms and furnishings were inviting and comfortable. The layout and space provided room for everyone to cook, dine, and hangout en masse -- but there was also enough space to find a quiet corner, if needed. The grounds are also spectacular -- and we enjoyed many meals outside. The overall location can't be beat -- an easy walk into Chester and a short drive to many wonderful beaches and towns along the Nova Scotia coast. The owners were easy to work with -- very easy and quick communication. Thank you for sharing your beautiful home with us!

Our selection of the Chester Garden house to entertain 6 couples over two weeks in July could not have been better! Everyone was very pleased at how comfortable, spacious, nicely decorated and relaxing the house turned out to be! Pauline and Ernie are delightful to work with and concerned that every detail is taken care of. We loved the location - an easy walk to the beach, Front and Back Harbors and the Village to shop and dine out. The kitchen is well-appointed when you want to cook in. We highly recommend Chester Garden House and the Town of Chester for your Nova Scotia experience.

My family and I could not have been happier with our stay in Chester. The house is large,nicely decorated with comfortable furniture. The children were delighted with the yard complete with a frog pond. The owners thought of everything to make it the perfect family vacation home. It exceeded our expectation

This house went way above and beyond what we had expected. We were visiting the area in June for a week before our wedding, and had to put up a few family members who had travelled for the occasion. All we can say is that the pictures do not do the house justice at all! We were extremely impressed by the large floor plan, very generously sized bedrooms, and a beautiful backyard we were able to host a family BBQ in. The house is in amazing shape and is an easy walk from pubs, restaurants, and the beautiful harbour. We would easily rent this house again when we visit again.

This was our third summer visit to Chester, but this time we brought family and friends to experience this beautiful little town by the sea. So we needed more space and more bedrooms. What we found in the Chester Garden House was a stunning property with a wonderful garden. A perfect location for our family and friends to spend a few summer weeks. Everyone loved the house. Clean, modern and well equipped with thoughtful and responsive owners. From the kitchen to the loft, the house is a real gem. A superb choice for a large group. Highly recommended.

My five girlfriends and I had our annual ladies only long weekend here and it was fabulous. There were three living rooms, all beautifully and comfortably furnished so we had plenty of room whether we all wanted to be together or have a little privacy. The kitchen was huge and thoroughly equipped; the bedrooms easily accommodated us all. The gardens and yard were lovely and private and we were only moments away from the village of Chester with shops and restaurants. We would recommend this home away from home to anyone..

My fiancé and I were looking for a nice house to rent in Nova Scotia for our family to visit us during our wedding. After looking at several houses in the Halifax to Lunenburg area, we found a few around Chester. Some were on the water and some were inland. The Chester Garden Home instantly stood out among the choices - so much so, we fell in love with the pictures and the property description! Actually, as you look through the photos here, they do not do this house justice! The attention to detail and the amenities were just a couple of things that really made this place so special for me and my new wife. EVERYTHING is pretty much brand new here! From floors, to paint to appliances to all the tiny little details throughout the home. We were blown away with the beautiful kitchen, the well-appointed bathrooms, the beautifully landscaped property and all those little extras you don't really think about like wifi, dishwasher, ice machine in the fridge and plenty of bedlinens. So even all of that aside, the communication with the owners and follow-up was superb. Very cordial and friendly just like all the people that lived in Chester! Can we stay forever? It was very close to the grocery store, liquor store, a couple of great pubs and of course the scenic ocean front and wharf. Even if you must have your Tim Horton's, they have that too! We were very sad to leave our home away from home in Chester. We have many photos and memories to help remind us of our stay there but its just not the same as actually being there. The price was extremely reasonable too considering it was for the whole week. We will miss you Chester Garden Home!!! - Mike and Melissa.
