Glenghorm Beach Resort

Good location partway along the Cabot Trail. Good size partially renovated room with an ocean view from the deck and front window. Nice resteraunt with good food options. What we chose was delicious and good sized portions. All the staff we encountered were very lovely, from check in, to servers in the resteraunt, to the housekeeping staff.

The bathroom and fixtures could use updating. This may be in process with future renovations.

Convenient location on the Cabot Trail, perfectly placed for our travel plan. This place was battered by hurricane Fiona a few years ago and has mostly recovered. The main building and the cabins are modern, some of the rooms are not and have their original rustic décor (not necessarily a bad thing). There's a good flow of hot water in the shower. The property borders a sandy beach! It was very relaxing sitting in the Muskoka chairs looking seaward (the great weather helped). The large dining room serves a very nice dinner (I had salmon and it was great). There's a pub downstairs with live music Friday and Saturday nights. The staff we met were uniformly excellent. We're glad we stayed there.

There are two choices for breakfast in the dining room: a version similar to the "free" breakfast at chain motels for $20, and a beverage/baked item for $6. The former is not really good value and seemed poorly-attended. We had the latter.
